| I've seen both multiple times. Elizabeth 1 is one of my heroes. Cate Blanchett is fantastic in the role.
I am thinking of renting The Other Bolleyn girl. Has anyone seen it? I've read the book and loved it . It is about Ann and Mary Boleyn. |

| I've seen Cate Blancett's Elizabeth, but not the sequel. It was all right, but I prefer the HBO mini-series with Helen Mirren. I'm also really interested in how they plan to age JRM. You know, Henry didn't really start getting fat until he got hurt and wasn't able to get the exercise he had before. Typical athlete syndrome, I guess. The girl who plays Jane Seymour is a pretty but fairly bland blonde. I think the real Jane was supposed to be rather mousy but then Anne Boleyn was not considered a beauty in her day either. The way she's being portrayed so far is kind of sweet and innocent but with a mind of her own but definitely not a rabble rouser. Like in one scene, she tells Henry she would like him to put Mary back in the line of succession, but she doesn't really argue the point when he tells her they need to worry about the children (sons) they will have and not so much about his offspring from previous relationships. I really hope Peter O'Toole is back next year. He played Pope Paul III as a cross between Osama Bin Laden and a Mafia don. Brereton almost seemed like a suicide bomber, didn't he? |

Man, he looks every bit of that...bless his heart! He still has great acting skills though and I think it is very cool he got hired for the role! He still commands an audiences' attention doesn't he? |

| I ADORE Peter O' Toole , I cannot wait to see him portray Pope Paul, one of the most despicable people I've ever read about it. No , I don't mind pics I go to The Tudors website all the time. I do think you should watch both Elizabeth movies. Cate Blanchett doe a terrific job portraying Elizabeth pre monarch and the beginning of her reign in the first one, The Golden Age is good too but Cate is what 30ish? and during that time Elizabeth was 50ish. So for the latter Elizabeth Helen Mirren does indeed do a marvelous ,terrific job. So I suggest both. Do you like to read? If so Alison Weir has a wonderful book The six Wives Of Henry the Eighth and The Children of Henry the Eighth. |

| Aerwin,Yes, I do like to read! Thanks for the recommendations on the books! Are they biographies or fiction based on history? I am also going to get a book called "Immortal" which is set in Renaissance Florence, but can't remember the author's name right now. |

| I've read Alison Weir's Six Wives of Henry VIII and it really is quite a good book. I don't think she likes Anne Boleyn that much. In her book Anne is basically a bitch that everyone sees through except the King who is besotted with love until she fails to deliver a living son. I'm just starting the Antonia Fraser version now. |

| I definitely plan on getting Weir's book then since I have two good reviews on it! Thanks ladies! And without further ado, let the fashion show begin! Some of my fav costumes from this season: I think the coordinated costumes are da bomb! Don't know if this was season 1 or 2 , but the detail close up of this garment is exquisite...Johnathan knows how to work it too..*cough, cough*! |

| I love the purple one. I read that in Season one some of JRM's costumes were Errol Flynn's. Antonia Fraser is a good writer too, but Alison weir has the definitive biography on Elizabeth 1 . She also has an excellent book on Mary queen of Scots and the murder of Lord Darnley. |

| I think my favorite costume was the one Anne Boleyn wore when she was walking outside with Henry when he was telling her he was going to take her to France with him. |
