| Those Gala videos are a riot and I'm sure it was even more so in person. I don't like beards, but I think it works for him with that particular hair style. I've read that someone at the Gala asked Faye what she thought of the beard. She doesn't like it and said that it won't be there for long. I don't think the reason for his growing or shaving it off was given, although he does not seem to like anyone telling him what to do or not do! No surprise there! I think he learned a lot about conducting an auction from his participation in David Foster's fundraiser. It looks like the entire West Coast is only getting three summer concerts and they are all in So. Calif. Drat! |

| Hi Janice!!! I am so glad you are here!!! Yes, I LOVE the gala vids and have watched them ( mumble times). I think David Foster is a great mentor for Clay all the way around. I so want Clay with David's label. I think they would make amazing music together! My boys would not shave or cut their hair if that is what I wanted either I've wanted my youngest to get a hair cut for weeks and he says "nah, I don't need one". He has curly hair so it doesn't grown down it grows I wish Clay would keep this look. I LOVE it. Sorry about the concert schedule. So far no Chicago area dates either. I think I will cry if he doesn't come my way. I haven't seen him since JNT05. _________________ Peace and love

| Since I don't keep up with Clay news (execpt for what you post here!) I did not know Clay was working with Foster. That is GREAT news. My favorite Clay stuff (aside from his funny and delightful personality) is his big, loud, almost operatic voice. I have often wished he would do the sorts of songs Josh Groban does, and since Foster was Groban's producer, maybe Clay will go more in that direction, but the Clay version. |

| Jaymes Foster (David's sister) was the Executive Producer of Clay's last CD and his Xmas EP. They are now very close friends (some people think more than friends) anyway, thru Jaymes Clay has become close with David Foster. David asked Clay to perform at some big charity event in Canada and has admitted to being blown away about Clay's vocals. David is the one who encouraged Clay to write "Lover All Alone". The fandom is hoping Clay can get away from Clive and go with David Foster. _________________ Peace and love

| Just so ya know, any hints of Clay's sexuality in ANY direction tends to rile people up and want to talk about what they think. SO if you do not want arguments about that subject...don't mention it. If you don't mind arguments about it (done with graciousness, please) then do. I love the idea of gracious arguments, though I have no clue what they are. |

| I am fine with gracious arguements. I was just stating what a lot of people think about him and Jaymes. I have no clue if they are more than friends. I don't really care either way. _________________ Peace and love

| He's working with David Foster? That's great news. We could see some really great work from him in the future. This means Clive Davis is out of the picture, I hope? I swear that man ruins careers. |

| Clive did do Daughtry, though, and that seems to be working out well. But David Foster has a love for grand voices, which is what I love about Clay. |

| No Abrahammy, we have no idea if Clive is out of the way. Just that David Foster seems to be mentoring him. The fandom is hopeful that that is a good sign that Clay will work with David as soon as he is free to. All we know is that David gave Clay the music for Lover All Alone and encouraged Clay to write the lyrics, and that David and Clay have done some benefits together. They call each other good friends and Jaymes is going to be working on Clay's next CD. _________________ Peace and love

I am totally clueless about Clay's contract situation with Clive. He can't be tied to him forever can he?? There must be some light at the end of the tunnel if Clay wants to get away from him. At least I hope so for his sake if he is unhappy. |

| Muse, I think he and his fans were just disappointed with Clive mandating the covers CD for the all important sophomore CD. I mean why stick this young man with a covers CD? Bad enough Clive is forcing it on Rod and Barry. Rod said he did NOT want to record that last covers CD. But Rod and Barry are older and established. It was a sin to saddle Clay with that. Even tough I love the CD because of how wonderfully it was produced and sung. _________________ Peace and love

| Hi Muse! I recently figured out that you were NYS/Muse. The fans have been speculating about his contract with Clive for a long time, but it seems no one has been able to get the details of the commitment. If Clay is indeed stuck with Clive for a while longer, an upside to his association with Jaymes is that Clay now has a friend and respected mentor in the business. I think the relationship with Clive is a puzzle, but there may be a power play going on. Both are control freaks, except that Clive holds the deck. But....Clay has a loooooong memory. When he puts out a self-titled CD, I think we will know who won that round. Has anyone else been following Josh Groban's career? I've been a fan of his since 2002 and I have been impressed with how David Foster and Brian Avnet, Josh's manager, have developed it. Both David and Brian have posted on Josh's official message board in the past and answered questions about their roles in his development. Josh didn't really fit into a current niche. Instead, David and Brian wrote a business plan which they presented to Warner Bros and convinced TPTB there that there was a unfilled niche that Josh could fill and requested support from Warner Bros. Then they went to work to produce his CD and promote him in selected markets and venues. The rest is history and it happened in a relatively short period of time. Clay doesn't play instruments and does not seem inclined to write, but IMO I think he is just as good vocally and has the potential to be as successful as Josh if he can find a supportive label and, of course, the right songs for his voice. |
