PostSubject: Re: Dolls   Fri Oct 05, 2007 6:12 pm

Congrats on the new outfit! It almost has an Amish look! I LOVE Amish stuff. Rob and I used to take many weekend trips and shop in Amish country! I have 2 medium size Amish dolls, a man and wife, and 1 small one. My couple sit on a little wooden love-seat in our family room. I even have a painting in the family room of an Amish family riding in their black buggy down an open country road.

She is going to look amazing in that outfit!!

You can see Magnificent Mile's stock at Frickart Dolly Shop if you scroll down. I can never copy pix from there. The doll is shopping of course! I'm already thinking of "M" names Razz She comes out in January so by April I will be ready for a new doll no?? Laughing

I talked to a poster at PS about her J-Dolls and she loves them and says they are "even more enchanting in person". Her only complaint is that they have the type 3 Pullip body. Fine with me since I have a ton of clothes for type 3s! The funny thing is I got that doll nude from the seller who sold this girl at PS the stock outfit for the doll! That's why she had a nude. Too funny. Now the thing is my girl's stock is beautiful and if I really love the doll I am going to wish I got her stock.

Speaking of buying stock, Magma has lots of stock outfits at his site now with "Best Offer" including Butler's and Lead's. Too bad he couldn't have had "Best Offer" when I bought mine Evil or Very Mad

Well, two boys have left for a b-day party (will come back at 3:00) and the baby just went down for her nap. That leaves just 2 school age boys right now so I can take a breather! Guess I will use it to look for J-Doll pix!!

TTYL~

EEK! Yes, he is beautiful!! Love his stock too. No way to the wig No but he will look great in so many other types of wigs and colors. Birng on the boys!! I only need two more to make 7 couples lol!

Uh oh....I start getting worried when you are not around for long stretches. Hope everything is ok. Shocked

Eeek! I got my new doll! Oh boy....I am in serious trouble now! She is beyond gorgeous and I am love with BJD's now! No more Pullips for me.
All my money is going to go into my new obsession!

Will post some photos later!

Hi Luca!

How sweet of you to worry I love you

I've been in bed sick all day. I don't know what happened. I woke up at 4:00 AM feeling really sick. Plus my head cold has turned into a chest cold. I have no energy. I'm finally feeling a little better and started some laundry. I hate a lost day. Hubby and I were going to go car shopping, grill burgers and go for a walk Crying or Very sad I'm so bummed. Hubby still made burgers and brats for the boys. I just had some toast Mad yumo Rolling Eyes

I am so excited for you that you got your doll! I can't wait for pix. I kinda figured it would put an end to your Pullip addiction Sad I hope you still enjoy them though. You have such amazing Pullips!

I don't know whether to hope I love my J-Doll or not. I have already been looking at them a lot and thinking which other ones I may want Embarassed I guess it will be fun to have two different doll collections! That won't make me tooooo crazy will it geek

I ran errands last night and took my mom to the grocery store since we didn't get to do that Weds. because my dad was struggling with low blood sugar issues. I tell ya, visiting him is just really depressing. This rash they can't figure out is horrible and just everywhere. He has lost so much hair and what he has has gone completely gray. He has aged so much in 6 mos. it is hard to believe No Then we had late night Paninis- I think that might have been what got me sick.

You know, my mom not getting a drivers license is really getting on my nerves. There was a mix-up with our groceries and she ended up with our tomatoes and bananas and I her head of lettuce. I told her she could keep our tomatoes and bananas because we could get more later, but SHE insisted we bring her her head of lettuce today Rolling Eyes So when Justin got home from spending the night at his friends he had to drive it to her. What a waste of gas. Driving 20 miles to drop off lettuce because she wouldn't wait until Tues. morning when Eric goes there to take my dad for his first appointment to be fitted for his legs. She is getting on my last nerve. Sorry to vent. I do not mind doing the important and necessary things etc. but making us bring her lettuce just really bugged me. Oh well, what can I do. I sure wish I had some siblings right about now. Thank god I have two sons who can drive and help out. I just wish my mom would get it when she goes too far with what all she expects me to do on my little free time.

Well, I need to drag my body down to the laundry room and get laundry done. Sunday is MIL's day to do laundry.

So, also had hoped to take pix of the new guys outside today but clearly none of us saw the light of day!! sunny May tomorrow be better! Oh wait, I spend Sunday's cleaning the house Evil or Very Mad What a fun weekend Razz No school Monday so busy, busy! I am so enjoying my pity party tongue

Whew! Yes, I was starting to get a bit worried! So sorry you are under the weather, but it sounds like you sure needed a day to just rest! You have so many demainds on you right now!

I must go fix dinner and download the photos! I am dying to see how they turned out! She looks way different in person! No peach....all pink! And her wig is to die for! Eeek! Will post some photos in a few hours!

A few HOURS affraid I don't know if I can stay awake a few more hours!! I will try though. So excited to see her! So you love the wig she came with? That is great!

BTW, what makes a doll a "Ball Joint Doll"? Are they more easily posed than Pullips? Do they move differently? Are there joints different?

Ahhh! I am touched you waited up! She is so worth it! Are you sitting down?

May I present Queen Prudence!

These dolls are made of resin which gives there skin a porcelin look. Their joints are strung together so they are incredibly lifelike in their poses. Man I wish you could see her in person! I am so smitten it isn't even funny! I still love my Pullips, but they may someday help pay for
the boy that I now must have to be her "King"! lol!

Here is the rest of the photoshoot...I cannot believe how lucky I got with the light! My poor girl is naked though! The fug dress she came in will have to be altered before I will put her in that. I took the custom skirt that Yuni made for me a while back and it will be retrofitted to fit Prudence somehow...she so owns it! And I took the pimprag thing off Tom's head that I made and used it as a top! I can't believe how good it looks on her for being thrown together! Can you believe how big her feet are?

Well, I must have just missed you last night! I went to bed at midnight. Just really needed to sleep. Slept until 8:00 AM! That is something for me! Must have been because I was sick. Feeling better today - not 100% but close!!

She is really lovely!! The outfit looks amazing! I can't believe the top is from Tom's hat Laughing I never would have known! WOW is right on the feet! No wonder the boots for them are so costly!

So her name is Prudence and she is a queen? She does look like a queen. I think she looks like Cate Blanchett who is currently playing the queen in a new movie! Can't you see the resemblance??

The pix turned out amazing! You have such good backgrounds for your pix - especially for black and white. I love the stool too!

So you may sell off your Pullips Sad Not Bill or Tom right? affraid

I have been looking for something classy to get for my new girl to wear when she gets here all nekkid. Her stock is classy and she has those red lips so I am thinking this outfit -

Or this set where Nat would get the mod outfit:

I am so torn about which to get. The set ends in like 2 hours so I need to decide quick! Mad

Hope you have a wonderful day!! It is going to be in the 90s here again today!!! Good grief! It's OCTOBER!! I am so sick of hot!! 85 tomorrow! BUT 70 on Tues. cheers 60 on Weds!! WINDOWS OPEN!!! Can't wait!

TTYL~

ETA: Did you see there is someone trying to sell China, China on ebay for $465 Shocked Magma has one and he is asking $98 BIN. I hope someone doesn't miss that and pay that crazy price for her!! I mean really - is China, China that hard to find that someone would pay that?

BTW, did you make the queen hat that Prudence is wearing? It's so cute! It reminds me of felt hats I made for Eric when he was a baby. I made a pumpkin stem one and an elf hat for Xmas. I guess the elf one wasn't as good as I thought because when we got to Rob's cousin's house for Xmas Eve his little old Swedish Aunt Betty asked me "What the hell is on his head?" Embarassed Laughing

Are you feeling better today my laydee?

Yes, she does resemble Cate, only a much younger version! Laughing I am just kidding she is a queen, but there is definitely something regal about her! No?

Her eyes read blue/violet, not grey. But, that was a nice surprize actually with her pink face-up. I think the pink eyes would have been too much.

The little hat came with the set she came in. The huge American Girl outfit that I am going to modify. I think the hat is adorable too! How cute you made similar ones for the boys when they were tiny!

Ooh....that is a hard choice about the outifts. I love them all! And they would all look so cute on your new girl and Nat!

I picked this up to possibly take with me to Italy if it is not too big...I just could'nt pass it up!
http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140165587671&sspagename=ADME:L:AAQ:US:11

Prudence may also have a mod but regal side when I find the perfect pink wig for her...and the vespa may be a good prop for her too!

No I have no immediate plans to part with any of the Pullips. But, if my grail guy comes up someday that I must have a quick 400.00 for, who knows. Shocked It seems cool guy clothes are even easier to come by for these dolls than the girls which is different than in Pullip/Taeyang land!

Wow! $400 for the guy you want! Makes me wish we had bought some of the rarer Pullips and kept them NRFB so we could sell for big bucks!!

Yes, her eye color is perfect with her make-up!

That little cycle is so cute!! Will that be for Caprice? Are you taking Prudence to Italy too? I think I would be afraid to take her for fear of anything happening to her. From what I can see you got an amazing deal on her and you would have a hard time getting another one for that price. BTW, is she a Dollfie? I get confused with Dollfie, Luts, Volks etc.

Yes, I am torn. I think I really want the fancy red outfit with hat and coat. I could do a BIN for $15 total with shipping. It was just listed and I fear waiting out the 6 days. The two pack is at a good deal right now, but the seller wants $8 shipping within the US, which I think is a little high and it bugs me. Most all other US sellers want half that for the packs. BUT there is only one seller with either of those two outfits, so I am stuck.

Decisions, decisions. Maybe you should just go with the red coat outfit then. The dress is worth it alone. The other outfit you can wait and see if someone else gets it down the road.

I will only be taking Gaby to Italy. Caprice is too fragile with the hair and stock, and no way would I take Prudence anywhere! She came in the cutest long box that came with a huge white satin pillow that she was wrapped up in! I guess that is how the BJD's come from the companies
in the Orient.

I believe "Dollfie" is a term that is generic for all BJD's but, Wikipedia can clarify that one for us for sure. I agree, I am pleased with the deal I got.
I would consider getting a used doll again to save money. I don't know that my next one will cost 400.00, actually there are some really nice ones for in the 300.00 range where you can pick the face-up type and style that you want. I think I may consider that to ensure I get what I want for that price unless the perfect guy shows up that has enough of what I want for the right price. The key will be that he looks more mature and also has the regal look to match my girl.

Well, we shared a brain on that one!! I let the two pack set go and I bought the red one. It just seems made for Anisa. But, I also bought this blue one I found that I think will also look gorgeous on her and it was only $10 total with shipping. So now she has two outfits and I am done!!! I am spent until my birthday - if then Razz

One outfit to go with her lips and one for her eyes! Both will look great with her black hair and both together still cost less than half of what her stock would with shipping.

Now, I have to get cleaning Mad

Eeek! I love the outfits you got! She is going to be one classy laydee! Wink

I have got to get a doll stand for my girl and then start cleaning myself! Evil or Very Mad We are expecting my brother and sister in law from Texas on Thursday and we have been getting all kinds of projects down that we have been talking about! Yesterday we had to catch and kill a mouse that was in the house....how it got in we can't figure out! Thank god we got it before they arrived!

I still did'nt get my pants and jacket from meda yet...I don't know how you get it so quick from her! I am going to ask her down the road if she would consider making some MSD clothes for me if I kept the design similar to other items she already has. I know she will charge 30.00 plus though...but at least it will be well made and unique.

When you brought up Prudence looking like Cate...it gave me an idea that I need an elf boy/man for her...then she can be the elf queen! Very Happy She would be perfect for that! Maybe after the first of the year I can start that commission outfit. *gulp*

EEEK!! A mouse in the house affraid You should get a few of these cat !! Actually about a year ago my folks had one in the house and they couldn't get it for about a week! Mom was freaking out! Friends of ours on the other side of the lake here had a mouse problem too. They needed to get exterminators and spend a week at a hotel! We have never had a problem - thank god!

I am so glad you like both outfits! Yes, she will indeed be my classy girl. With that face she would have to be. She looks rich to me Laughing There is that one funky J-Doll with the pink hair and really cool eyes. If I get her she will be the one to get the fun and funky clothes! She has a tattoo after all!

So exciting that you are getting all your projects done for your company! I hope you all have a wonderful visit! Hope the weather is such that you can all go riding.

The Elf Queen sounds like a very fun idea indeed! I have seen the elf dolls. Very cute.

I did look up "Ball Joint Dolls" on Wikipedia. Just confused me a bit. Made it sound like all the dolls like Pullips and such are BJD. I know Miniwoo refers to Pullips as BJD in some of her descriptions. I always think of BJDs as the Luts and Volks and I thought dollfie was a "type" of BJD. I guess I need to do more reading up. I thought Luts, Volks and Dollfies were brands like "Pullips" and "Blythe".

Even mEda is very surprised how fast I get my stuff from her, even though the shirt she sent out two days before the jeans got to me two days after the jeans scratch

I called the people about the guitars and she knew they didn't go out, but she didn't know why they didn't go out, other than the fact they she and her helper had been sick all week. She was supposed to call me back - but didn't. If I don't hear from her by Tues. I will call again. She seemed nice. I guess it is a pretty small little company.

Later~

Man that guitar thing has been kind of a pain huh? Hope you get it soon!

Did you get all your cleaning done? We did! Shocked New headboard up in the bedroom, craft room reorganized, hubby's bathroom, couch slip covers, vacuumed, side of house touched up with paint....yada, yada, yada!

All that and I did some sewing for Prudence! I took apart that fug American girl dress and made it into something more fitting for a lady! I also made a corset top to go with the black lace skirt. I have'nt quite finished everything, but when I do I will post some photos. I actually like sewing for bigger dolls! It is so much easier! I can see myself doing a lot more sewing for my new girl...which is a good thing because the clothes are not cheap-as you know!

Hope to talk to you later from work...it has been so slow and boring lately!
