Yes, I was/am a bad girl Twisted Evil Embarassed

But, to make up for it, all I just ate for dinner is a whole grain English muffin with sugar free jelly Laughing Razz I actually like stuff like that anyway!

I would have preferred the other doctor I think, but it will be good to at least get the ball rolling on opinions and whatever tests need to be done.

Yes, I agree. It never hurts to be proactive in a situation like this. If the old guy thinks Justin needs surgery, you know the young one will!

I just ate my bad self a handfull of candy...so you are not alone! Embarassed

Yep. That is what I figure. If this doctor says surgery then that is probably best. I know they want x-rays, which they do right there, but I do not know what else they will need to determine the right course of action. If this doc says no surgery at this time, I wonder if it is cool to ask for a second opinion within the same group of doctors? scratch It's a group of 3 and I have never gotten second opinions before - as thankfully I never had to.

So we both had a chocolate splurge today! The Chex Mix was from those boxes of 100 calorie bags - but I ate 3 bags Laughing You know what is a great chocolate fix - dark chocolate fudgesicles! Only 60 calories! They are in the new triple chocolate box of regular milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate. All are yummy! 60 cals., no trans fat, only 1 gram of sat. fat and only 9 gs of sugar! bounce

I don't know if I would go for a second opinion within the same practice...I would seriously doubt one doctor would go against the other's opinion in that situation. I think you should ask your family doc who you should talk to if you want another opinion.

I would not be surprized if the older doc consults with his colleagues in the practice if he has any doubt or questions in his own mind...because if anything happens to one of them and they cannot do the surgery for some reason, they have to have trust in each other and watch each other's backs to keep the practice from encountering lawsuits and to keep things thriving.

Thanks for the tip on the fudgicles! I am a huge fan of Dreyer's Slow Churned ice cream myself... Twisted Evil Their French Silk kind is 130 cals for 1/2 cup serving and it is practically orgasmic it is so good.... lol!

I guess I will just wait and see what all he has to say. I know that our doc had them both on the phone Friday. Hopefully you are right and they confer with each other. I have never been so anxious to get to a doctor's appointment let me tell you! I need to hear that it is going to be OK, or that they can fix it!

I have to be very careful with ice cream. My gallbladder does not like too much ice cream. I haven't had an attack since I found out it was ice cream that caused mine. It has been over two years since my last one. I don't push it. One or two fudgesicles a week and no problems. My hubby goes through a couple of gallons of ice cream a week!! He only eats fat free though. Bryer's fat free is his brand of choice, but he will eat Edy's too. He makes me crazy. He is slender and never has any stomach problems of any kind! Slender and eats gallons of ice cream, tons of chips and nibbles and desserts and did I mention SLENDER?? Mad Mad

Eats whatev and slender?...almost deserves a stab, but being that it is someone who is a nice person and your hubby, I guess I will let him slide! Being short and female does have it's down sides! No Laughing

Yes, I think you will be so relieved one way or the other after talking to the surgeon's and getting their expert opinions on what you can expect. I wonder how much the surgery costs...have you checked into it yet?

Well, no shoes from China and no witch dress and cape that I won on EBay over a week ago.*sighs* The shoes would be nice for the DZ contest shoot, but I can live without them if I have too. I have white shoes on her now that really don't look too bad because the black outfit has some white accents to it.

No, no stabbing. But you can smack him! Laughing It makes me nuts! geek He isn't as thin as he used to be, but still looks perfect body wise. He is 6'1. I am 5'2 Razz See, it really helps when you have a much taller container Rolling Eyes

Too bad your items didn't come yet No But if the outfit is black with white accents then the white shoes will work great! You always dress them impeccably!

I have no idea what the surgery would cost. I don't think I want to know! Whatever it costs we have to do it and it doesn't matter because we can't afford it regardless of what it costs. Knowing ahead of time only lets me know which level of brokeness we will be at *pulls lint out of pockets*

Hope you have a great day. Me - I am bummed. I woke up with "my friend"! It has been almost 8 months since my last one. I was so sure I was DONE! Mad I guess it's the stress or something. I have gone 6 months between many times now, but this was the first time going just under 8 months. They say if you go a full year you can consider yourself "changed". I came so close Crying or Very sad Now it starts all over again waiting for that year Mad

Wow, I bet you are kind of in shock-I know I am. That is not sounding good. I can't imagine what is going through your mind right now, but it was good of the doctor to wait until Justin is seen by a Neurologist to know for sure what is going on.

Your motherly instinct was right on target to get him in ASAP. Shocked Sometimes women's intuition is so freaky....

How are you doing my laydee? And how is Justin doing?

We are doing OK. Justin is spending the night at his best friend's house.

I have been reading tons of stuff and I am still hopeful that it will work out OK. It can be a case of the way Justin always sits with his elbow (where the nerve is trapped) on the arm of his chair (and has forever) and the armrest of the car door. It could be that they just need to fix that. I am not going to panic unless the EMG shows reason too. I read too much tonight that is optimistic. With EMGs they also look for ALS and MS, but Justin has no symptoms of those diseases.

The ortho wrote on the paper he gave me that they are still looking at it as Cubital Tunnel Syndrome and that is what he wants the EMG to focus on. I have a feeling this test is as much about ruling things out as finding things out. They did the same with Rob and determined he just gets the drop foot because of the way he crosses his legs at his desk and while working on certain jobs. He has had it 3 times and it always went away on it's own. He had an MRI and other tests done and nothing else showed up so they just said he had some form of neuropathy, told him not to cross his legs or sit Indian style on the floor and do some therapy.

I read all about the two different types of surgery to fix the nerve. One is pretty simple and can be done with a local and sometimes in the doctor's office! The other they create a new tunnel for the nerve. They put you under for that one, but both are done as out-patient procedures! So that is not too scary.

Anyway, the doctor had me pretty scared at first, but the more I read I see there are several non-serious reasons for the test and the condition so I will focus on that right now. He used the word "serious" a few times because he is concerned about the amount of atrophy that Justin has already. I think that is why he is concerned to get this all done quickly before he loses more muscle. He did say at this point that can still be corrected. It will take a lot of hand exercises and therapy.

Well, it is after midnight and I need to hit the hay!

Talk to you tomorrow! Thanks for the power hugs! I need them!!
