| Some folks collect beautiful dolls. I collect beautiful eggs. I've got eggs of venetian glass, gold, painted real eggs, wooden eggs, porcelain, even a special egg my mother made me for my wedding - over 60 in all. No faberge eggs. They cost, like, millions of dollars, although I have a book with pictures in it.
In honor of beautiful eggs, I present you: the 2007 Official State Easter Egg collection, with a hysterical story about what happened to Wyoming.

Wyoming not happy with their official state Easter Egg
April 5, 2007 - A crudely drawn skiing egg festoons their entry CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The governor's office isn't calling for an investigation, but officials would rather it doesn't happen again - a college student from Illinois decorated Wyoming's state Easter egg.
Philip M. LeDonne of Elmhurst, Ill., decorated the "Wyoming" egg unveiled this week at the annual State Egg Display at the White House Visitor Center. First Lady Laura Bush posed for an official photo with the 51 eggs, one from each state and the District of Columbia.
The American Egg Board had LeDonne, the son of an "administrative person" at the board, decorate the egg after it couldn't locate a Wyoming egg artist, said board director of state programs Christine Bushway.
Cara Eastwood, spokeswoman for Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal, said no one contacted the governor's office about finding a Wyoming artist.
Camellia El-Antably, deputy manager of the Wyoming Arts Council, said the other eggs showed "real thought" in how they represent their state.
"We're disappointed that we were not contacted to be asked to help find an artist who could represent our state," El-Antably said. "And we hope in the future to have an artist that can represent Wyoming." | |

| Those are some gorgeous eggs! Thanks for sharing. I would love to see some pix of your egg collection Abrahammy! I think the Wyoming was better than the Illinois egg! I know how important and loved Lincoln is and deserves to be, but sometimes I wish we could have something else on all our stuff. Lincoln is everywhere here. I loved Wahsington State's and Wisconsin's. | |

| Fun eggs.
I love NY! The Vermont egg was well painted, but evoked nothing to do with Vermont. I think the Wyoming egg should have been swapped out to Vermont.
The Vermont egg could have been for Arizona.

| I see a pond surrounded by a forest with 2 birds or some type of parrots OR mermaids with a treasure chest behind them. It's clear as mud. And about those pearls? I have no idea maybe the whole thing is an oyster shell? Which is also sort of vagina-like. I have been to Connecticut many times; I've not run into these images. Well except for the pond. My family lives on Pond View Circle in Connecticut. I like writing Connecticut! No, I'm not drunk. | |

| Those are gorgeous!! That first one that opens up is amazing! I would LOVE to see more of your eggs! I have been to gift shops and seen fancy eggs I would love to have. I was born on Easter Sunday so I have some cute bunny/egg knickknacks but nothing that beautiful, more cutesy since most have come from my mom and she likes to give me cute little Easter things. | |
