| Until this season's American Idol is revealed, use this thread on results night to reveal who is safe and who is leaving once the show starts Eastern time, and do not worry about spoilering.
Please DON'T use this thread until the show starts on results night, (speculations and dialidol or other board rumors, all fine in the main thread) and them come back to the main thread to dish once it is over Pacific time.

| The greatest shocker in AI history. It took an hour to unroll this epic drama and had me on pins and needles. I've had more exciting naps.
I watched a little bit of Cook's hometown visit. Hope he loved every every minute of it. Sad. I could have gone to Jason's.

| I wish it had worked out for you Abrahammy I do think DC and JC would have been a fun finale. True, tonight was not shocking, but for a DC fan it was really wonderful! I think DC LOVED every second of his hometown visit. I think they all did. | |

| I would have enjoyed this more if Archie had gone home. Hey, at least it would have been a surprise. | |

| I can't even pretend to think there is suspense going on. SO, good for Syesha, she has launched a much higher profile career as an actress who sings (pretty spectacularly).
I don't know what hidden horror that lives deep within me that David Archuleta taps into, but I can't watch him. I only want to put him out of his misery.
I hope David Cook wins (though for his sake I do not think it matters) just to get David A to start thinking about leaving his parents.

There is something really worrisome and scary about that poor child. I have never watched him with any reaction other than extreme discomfort.

| Congratulations, Cook fans! I knew he had won when they gave the percentages out at the beginning of the show. Not a fan myself (not a hater, just not someone I'd ever follow or support) , but I still say he'll be the most successful of them all this year.
I still say the show owes Jason an apology.

| Thanks Badger! Yes, I had a feeling when they gave the percentages too. Considering DI and Zaba had him the winner. He won by a lot! But the thing that really gave it away was Simon's "apology" and said they were more "equal" than he had thought. How convenient Simon doesn't like to be wrong so I figured he had to get that in before DC was announced the winner Sadly, I cannot imagine they will ever apologize to Jason | |

| This was a really great season for AI. I think we all got thorougly entertained. Man, that George Michael can still sing can't he? Just curious...anyone thinking of going to an AI show this summer? | |

| If I wound up with tickets and someone I knew wanted to go, then I'd consider going. Other than that, I probably won't.
George Michael is THE SHIT. That's showing them what a real showman is. I adore him and just think he is one of the greatest performers/singers of our time. My mom kept rewinding and watching him again, calling him "mesmerizing". He is.
I didn't watch, but until FC stated Simon's apology, I really thought he might have been trying to light a fire under the fanbase, since if Simon says nasty things, the fans tend to vote more and people who are on the fence are suddenly going to the phone. I also thought this because every major site had Archie the winner just based on how they threw Cook under the bus last night. Very interesting outcome.
I personally feel there are only two true American Idols who deserved to win. Kelly and David. Sorry to Carrie fans, but for me, you have to be the whole package and while Carrie is pretty, she leaves me cold and is not a good performer. I think the person who becomes #1 above thousands of hopefuls should be the entire package. That's why Archie should have waited a few years. He actually might have if his "father" didn't push him. Too bad.

Just curious...anyone thinking of going to an AI show this summer? George Michael was great!!!!!!!! I thought about it, but decided that I didn't want to sit through all those group numbers. I really don't like Carly and Michael singing together, she just over sings everything and comes out screechie.

| Simon and Paula were thrilled when Ryan said David Cook! They hugged instantly with Simon patted Paula on the back. Paula was wiping tears shortly after that. I truly believe this is the outcome they wanted in their hearts, which is what Simon said on a few shows the last few days. One quote was "my head says David A, my heart says David C". So if he did to light the fire - who really knows. I just know he is happy for DC and really likes him.
That is what I have been saying all along about DA. Should have waited, but daddy probably wanted the money and the power now while he can still control the kid. Maybe in a few years he would have been unstoppable.
Yes GE, the "whole package" contestant won! So deserving.
My mom called after GM and was gushing!!! She still loves him big time.
I really wish I had gotten tix for the AI tour. They went on sale so soon after my dad died and I just didn't have the interest. Besides, I didn't want to go to the "Archie" show. Man, if I had had a crystal ball and knew DC would win I so would have gotten tix. There are only horrible tix left. I may try closer to the show and see if something pops up.
