No he does not. I want some of those clothes. OR some of those clothes for my Barbies. Peggy was in denial about the whole thing and just kept gaining weight , she did not even know there was a baby until she went to the hospital with stomach pains. Of course all the guys were making crass jokes about her being fat. Also Don is not really Don Draper , he took another solider's name that died in the war. So he is basically an imposter . Pete found out and tried to blackmail him. Pete also told Roger , but Roger did not care. Don's Mother was a prostitute . so he was raised by his Dad and stepmother.

| I'm looking forward to the summer Olympics opening ceremonies. Is anyone else watching it? I think the ceremonies are spectacular and usually feature the culture of the host country. I also love the competitions and would like to see Michael Phelps win all 8 medals.
I watched Project Runway tonight and was surprised to see that the challenge was to design the opening ceremony attire for the women. The bigger surprise was to see Apolo Ohno as the guest judge. What a cutie! He's just as cute in person!

| Thank you, aerwin, for filling in the blank about Pete being the baby's father. I suspected it, but wasn't sure!
Janice, I'm planning on doing a lot of tv time during the Olympics. In fact already this week, there has been some good programming on about China itself. Even the Today show is doing it in the mornings and their special features have been great.
This is going to be a great opportunity to learn more about China, always so mysterious to the west.

| For those of you who miss "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" it looks like a new series is coming on HBO September 7 called "Trueblood". From the previews, it looks like a blonde waitress kicking vampire ass. | |

| Anybody besides me still paying any attention to Swingtown?
I watched to begin with because I know Grant SHow, but I kinda got hooked due to the subtext of hilarious humor between Grant and Miriam Shor, the one who playes the uptight housewife Janet.
Full episodes are available: http://www.cbs.com/hd/video.php?cid=&pid=6N2ukmiU5bCevFLdLKZCTfmFOGqfM4Id&play=true
If that link is no good, just google Swingtown.

| Started to watch one episode. I couldn't get into it. Maybe if I watch from the beginning. It's funny, because when I first heard about it, I was intrigued.
I think the guy Elizabeth was supposed to marry in "Pirates of the Caribbean" is also in it.
Thanks for the link. I may take a gander.

| I can't claim Swingtown is worthy of a whole lot of trying-to-get-into. Though if somebody else WAS into it, we could chat.
Chekhov it ain't. | |

| Oh, I'm not looking for Chekhov. I love good trash like I love the good cheese.
It would be nice to chat with you about it. I will really try to check it out.

Mad Men is still totally entrancing me. I watching it on Sunday, and then watched it repeated in the next hour....yikes, I'm hooked.

| More info on Trueblood. One is that it's by Alan Ball who did Six Feet Under (one of my favorite shows) and...
apparently because it's HBO and Alan Ball, there's some soft porny stuff going on, so if you watch it, put the kiddies to bed first.
Also, I guess the show is based on a series of books. Oh, and I was trying to place the lead actress. It's Anna Paquin.

| TrueBlood is based on the books by charlaine harris. I LOVE the books. They have a fun side to them. So I am hoping this series will too and not be so dead serious.I am not an Alan Ball fan at. all. So I am not really happy he is the one behind this . I am going to try it though.
IF you have not watched Mad Men I strongly encourage you to. It is out on DVD now.

| From the look of the previews, the show is not taking itself at all seriously. SFU was dark humor, so I'm assuming this will be too.
Some people have seen the first episode and the results are mixed. It's funny. The people who read the books seem the most disappointed in the show, but all agree that the show is better than the books. Confusing.

That is confusing, If the people that love the books are the most disapponited but still like it better that makes no sense. I LOVED all Annne rice Books but HATED the movie Interview With the vampire. HATED . I have the first episode maybe I can get around to watching it soon.

| One person called it "comically howlingly bad". Some are doing an eyeroll over the OTT accents.
Some say they loved it.
Some don't think it's near up to the standards of SFU and Alan Ball.
The preview had some scenes left out, but some said it ends abruptly. Most say they'll stick around to see if it gets better.

| I saw they were promoting Chris Noth's last episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and decided to google it to find the story and who was replacing him. What happened was interesting:
Jeff Goldblum joins 'Law & Order: CI' Chris Noth leaving show By Nellie Andreeva
June 26, 2008, 03:07 PM ET
Updated: June 26, 2008, 03:32 PM ET Jeff Goldblum has joined "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," replacing Chris Noth, who is leaving the crime drama after three seasons.
Goldblum, whose salary is said to be in the neighborhood of $250,000 an episode, will split starring duties with co-lead Vincent D'Onofrio the way D'Onofrio did with Noth.
"Jeff's presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show," "Law & Order" chief Dick Wolf said.
This was Noth's second tour of duty on the "Law & Order" franchise as Detective Mike Logan. He originated the role in the first five seasons of the mothership series.
"Chris has been a member of the 'Law & Order' family since the beginning, and Mike Logan is one of the most popular detectives in the history of television," Wolf said. "We all wish him the best."
"Law & Order: CI," which migrated from NBC to USA last year, recently was renewed by the cable network for an 16-episode eighth season. The Wolf Films/NBCU Cable Studio series gets a second window on NBC.
Goldblum is coming off a starring turn on the stage opposite Kevin Spacey in the London production of David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow."
Goldblum, repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment, next will be seen on the big screen in "Adam Resurrected."
