Has anyone seen this show? Has anyone heard of the winner, Paul Potts?

You have to go listen to this man sing! In his audition, when he told the judges he was going to sing opera........the judges eyebrows raised........and then he sang 'Nessun Dorma'................ The rest is history.

I saw vids of him last week. That is not the kind of music I buy, but yes he has an incredible voice. I am so happy for him that he won!

There are a few singers I like for certain arias.....Pavarotti and Bocelli because their voices are so beautiful! I am not an opera fan but there are certain arias I just love. My main love of music is ROCK, but my interests are pretty broad! I just don't like country, dixie, or blues/jazz.

You can watch Paul on The Today Show here:

His CD will be out in about a month! How wonderful for him.

I hope someone fixes his teeth like they did Bucky and Elliott. I think Paul would look very handsome if it were not for his teeth. Yes, that is a very shallow statement!! Razz

Hey, he is English. They're sort of infamous for having bad teeth.

:ducks just in case there are any English people here:

I love the accent, though! I think even if a guy was not that good-looking, but has that accent, I'd be all over him.

That is so funny because I LOVE guys with English and Aussie accents too! When I was a kid I wanted to move to England just so I could marry an Englishman! Of course the fact that Sir Paul was my first fantasy boyfriend, followed by Barry Gibb, may have had a lot to do with that!!

I read something, somewhere, and it said he wanted to win so he could fix his teeth and have a nice smile. I will be looking for his CD.

Aw, that is sweet and sorta sad. I read that Elliott was the same way. Wanted so much to have a nice smile. I don't know that I would get Paul's CD for me, but I will get it for my dad. He loves music/singing like that. I got him Josh Grobin's first CD and he loves it. My mom LOVES that handsome blind singer that sang with McPhee. I think his name is Andrea Bocelli or something like that.

My mom LOVES Josh Grobin & Andrea Bocelli. If that's his style, I may have to look into getting it for my mom as well.

Glad he realizes his teeth are bad and wants to fix them. When you're afraid to smile, that's so sad.
