If it is true, I would imagine they are both doing it because they both want it. Why do you think it is one of them doing it FOR the other?

Well Frazz, I have watched and read every single stinking Clay interview. He has always said he was old fashioned. Believed in waiting until you are married for sex, wanting a traditional family - in fact he mentioned twins! Said he wanted to get married and have children. Wanted to be a great dad always there for his kids etc. So I do not think he would seek this option out. So either she asked him and he is doing it as a favor to her, or he (for whatever reason) see this as his only way to be a dad. Yes, they could be doing for each other, it just does not seem that Clay would do this if he still was set on the "traditional family". He certainly is still young enough to find the lady of his dreams, get married and then have children with her. Having his first child out of wedlock, with "a friend" just goes against everything he has said in the past. It just seems weird that Mr. Old fashioned, very religious, extremely dedicated to making his mom proud, would go this route. It is just out of character for the man he has proclaimed to be.

I am not saying I find anything wrong with the situation, just doesn't seem at all what he would do based on previous comments. Also, he ALWAYS stresses wanting to be a good role model for kids and I don't think (in the past anyway) Clay would have thought bringing a baby into this world under these circumstances was the right way. Not after referring to his bio dad as "sperm donor" . Having his child with "a friend" instead of the woman he loves and committed himself to, and not living with his family, just is the opposite of anything he said in the past.

So he is either gay and has excepted this is the only way, or he is doing it for her sake. If he was straight and felt darn well that he would find the right woman and get married, than I think that is what he would do based on everything he has said before.

She was married for 23 years so I have to wonder why she never had children before. It seems strange to all of a sudden want a child when you are approaching 50. I knew I wanted to be a mom from the time I was 5 Laughing

I was wondering if maybe the artificial insemination story has been put out there for this reason. With Clay being old fashioned, religious, etc. maybe they did conceive the tradtional way and he wanted privacy about that.

FC, you're fortunate that you knew what you wanted and were able to do it. Some of us are not that lucky. Circumstances of life change what we plan at times. As an older woman who has no children, I do not think it strange at all that someone would reach 50 and decide they want a child. I realize that makes me out of the norm of life; but I'm someone who has been out of the norms many times throughout my life. Cool

PostSubject: Re: Clay News!   Clay News! - Page 32 Icon_minitimeSun Jun 01, 2008 8:51 am

I really just meant it was strange "to me" because of the fact that my maternal instinct was HUGE at such a young age! I mean it was ALL I wanted the whole time growing up. I NEVER thought of any kind of career. I never had any other passion than for motherhood. That is why I have a daycare. Kids is all I know! Razz

I do understand that it isn't that way for others. I certainly get not really being interested until 30's or late 30's. But 50 really seems late. She was married up until one year ago. So either that man didn't want kids, or she didn't want them with that man, or finding herself suddenly single and no kids clicked something. I would have completely understood if Jaymes had been single all these years and then deciding she wanted to have child before it was for sure too late. It is the fact that she was married for such a long time and didn't have children and than single one year and suddenly preggers! By a much younger man she is supposedly just friends with.

I am sorry if things didn't work out for you as you had hoped they would. That is so sad. I have a cousin in the same situation as many women. She really wanted to be married with kids, but it just never worked out for her. She is a very attractive, intelligent and successful woman with many interests and does so many exciting things! I just never understood why none of her relationships worked out. She seems the perfect catch! She is now 52 with really no hope of having a biological child.

I actually DID think about that "let's say it was AI so people don't think we had sex", but in Clay's case (with all the speculation about his sexuality) he should have seen how he was going to take a much greater hit for the AI aspect of the story. And sadly, he sure the hell has Crying or Very sad Man, the hate out there for this man is unbelievable Mad The cruel comments on these gossip blogs are so OTT it is shocking. I am so sad for society right now. The crueler these people with keyboards can be the better.

Well, there is nothing wrong with being out of the norm! Hey, maybe you could adopt if you want to be a mom!

Just as some men do not want kids until they are in their 50s (or 70s) some woman wake up one day at 50 and want one.

It does not mean their lives did not turn out as they had hoped! They just decided they wanted something they had not wanted before.

If your cousin's life did not turn out as she hoped that is true for her.

That some people are appalled that a 50 year old (or 60 for that matter) woman wants her first kid, but do not bat an eye about old geezer men having kids just blows my mind.

That CLAY is young should be a great encouragement for those who fear that the kid will be left alone in...what, 30 years.

She is 50 (or 52, FC said), not 110. Though, even then, if I decide I want a kid when I am 110, as long as the dad or surrogate dad, is a loving person dedicated to raising the kid, I am going for it.

Oh goodness! I HOPE you do not think I am appalled by this! affraid

NOT at all! Just SURPRISED! Surprised that Jaymes didn't have any during decades of marriage and now a year after divorce (and she is 7 months along) she is having one with "a friend". That is what I find strange. Like I said, maybe it was her hubby's doing that she didn't have any.

I certainly can understand a single woman waking up one day when she is older and realizing that having a child is something she wants. It just seems that someone who was married for 23 years would have figured that out a little sooner.

And I know that it doesn't "mean there life did not turn out as they hoped". I was directing my comment to Lau who "stated" some things in her life did not go as hoped, same as my cousin. My cousin DID want marriage and children. HER life did not turn out as she hoped. I certainly wasn't implying ALL women who didn't get married and/or have kids didn't have the life they hoped. I have known plenty of women who never wanted either.

Frazzle, I think you said what was partly in my mind when I responded to FC's post. As we live longer, this kind of thing will become more common.

Or, it could be that she never felt the urge to have a child with anyone until she was with Clay (provided that these rumors are true).

How's that for a truly romantic viewpoint of this issue? *insert heart emoticon*

Lau, I would love that! It is just the part of the "story" that goes "Clay's sperm was used to artificially inseminate her. They are just good friends, but sources say he will be involved in the child's life". See, that is the "supposed" quote from sources and that is the part that is surprising. If the source was quoted as saying they were in love and the child was presumed conceived in the traditional way I don't think anyone would be that surprised, except of course for the age difference which appears to be about 20 years.

How's this for practical? She chose a younger man so the child would have at least one parent who was young enough to raise the teenager/young adult that baby would become? And a man whom she knew, for certain, would actually be a very good parent? Because he will, you know.

We will never know exactly what happened, and we probably should not know, but the more I think about it, the more I think Jaymes and Clay developed a situation whereby they helped each other solve some problems.

My biggest concern now - besides the possible hysterical exodus of shocked Claymates - is her health. Pregnancy was murder for me at 40. I don't want to contemplate it at 50.

Most are being supportive. I do not belong to the fan-club anymore, but I have read that there are some there that are being very judgemental about it and I guess there is some name calling of Jaymes Rolling Eyes They closed one thread because the fighting was so bad, but someone just opened another one and it started up again.

The 3 Clay Boards are go to are overwhelming supportive. Surprised and confused maybe, but showing lots of love. Sadly the Fan club does have some pretty strange people there, another reason I didn't renew this year. You'd think the people who paid to join would be real die hard fans, but they seem to have joined to cause mischief if you ask me Razz

For some crazy reason Jaymes has been on-line at the OFC! That cannot be good for her health reading all of that!

Hey, pregnancy was no picnic at 35 either! Laughing

Stars perform for president at Ford's Theatre gala
By NATASHA T. METZLER
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

WASHINGTON -- Broadway came to the nation's capital Sunday night during a gala for the Ford's Theatre attended by President Bush and first lady Laura Bush.

Actor Hal Holbrook, country music singer Trisha Yearwood, former American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken and other stars performed songs and spoken word pieces from the musical "The Civil War" at the National Theatre, which hosted the event because the beneficiary theater is under renovation.

I am wearing blue. I am sitting down and I am not on the telephone. I am, however, GRINNING so widely I look like a complete idiot.

Clay sings for the president. I am sorry to say that makes me feel a tad sorry for him. Still, that's a great gig. Glad to see he's still doing really honored work. I need to go find video of that performance; there's going to be a Jason drought for awhile now.

Yeah, even though we are not fans of Bush it is still a good gig and it is nice to know he is not hiding out somewhere trying to avoid the media crap.

No, I think you are looking at cute little Emily. I'm the dumpy broad in blue with glasses. No cell phone.

The insanity you have described is exactly why I am a Clay Aiken fan without a message board. I think he sings purdy, and he's funny as hell. I do not think he's angelic, perfect, virginal, perfect even-tempered, blessed with perfect musical taste, or ...um... straight. I just think he's kind of a completely awesome vocalist.

Irony alert: the two AI guys for whom I have most enthusiasm now are Jason C and the Aiken. Clay's having a baby with David Foster's sister; David Foster recently proclaimed that he would stop working with AI and 19E forever if Jason Castro got one single step farther in the competition.

AAAAAAAAAAAAwkward............

Are you the one standing up? It looks like that woman is on the phone though? I only see two in blue. The young one sitting down with huge grin (which is why I was sure that was you Laughing ) and the one standing up who looks to be talking on the phone. If someone else is in blue I will need to get out a magnifying glass! Razz

I used to really like David Foster. It is bad enough what he said about Jason, but he was not very pleasant about DC either Mad Said the only one who should win is Archie Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

So yeah, not loving David Foster myself. I appreciate that he loves Clay and is supportive of him, but he really did not need to be so rude about any of the AI kids after mentoring them. I think it is fine for the mentors to mention who think has what it takes to be successful etc., but there is no reason to be flat out mean and rude to or about any of them. I hope he is never asked to mentor the kids on AI again!

There has always been some Clay fans who are convinced he is the second coming of Christ and the perfect angel boy. Do they forget he sat and ate in a restaurant with a giant condom on his head??

David Foster didn't like Cookie, either? He wanted ARCHULETA to win? Oy. The guy is musically behind the times. Now, I can see why he might support Clay; Clay and Archie are actually the same kind of singer, although Clay is much better developed and far more mature in his delivery. But if he thinks that a semideveloped Archie is more marketable than David Cook - uh. He's out of it.

OK, picture. First, you see Jason. Unmistakable. Directly above him is a pretty blond girl who I thought was the young one you meant. To the right of pretty blond Emily is me, in a blue shirt, glasses, sitting down, grinning like a fangirl fool. There is a blond woman in red directly behind me. The woman in blue with the cell phone is to the right of the woman in red.

Did you watch the You Tube?

He did not hit a "reporter"! First off, it was a TMZ pap - and I wish he HAD hit the moron! No, he just put his hand over the camera and shoved the camera out of his face. GOOD FOR HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody has taken more shit from these gossip sites for 5 years than Clay. Now they have hurt people he loves. I say shove that camera up that assholes freaking nose!! Pap asking all nicey, nicey "Have you named the baby yet?" When you know damn well all he wanted was to upset Clay! And for what it is worth the paps are now hounding Jaymes Rolling Eyes

Gossip sites and the paps are so out of control now it isn't funny! Did you see where some got into trees and took pix of poor pregnant Jessica Alba trying to relax in HER BACKYARD pool? A celeb can't even get in their own pool in their own backyard without fear of paps hanging in their trees and taking pix without their knowledge!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible!

Freedom of speech and the press was NEVER about this sort of crap!

Oh, I watched the youtube. I just wasn't completely sure what I had seen. Shoving the camera works. I am not sure it was the wisest choice he could have made, but it's understandable. Since I don't think of Clay as a particularly physical type, this reaction was something else, and so was the provocation. However, I'm gonna guess that this means yes, Clay's the father.

The GUY was from TMZ!! The kind folks who broke the so called story! AND I don't believe for one second that he didn't get the exact reaction he wanted! TMZ has ALWAYS been horrible to Clay and he knows it! There was no way that TMZ PAP (they are NOT reporters) was really happy for Clay! Give me a freaking break. To me the fact that TMZ was there ready and waiting to jump on him is provocation enough in my book! It was their peeps that got the medical records!!

Are you certain that he knew that was a TMZ reporter? They have a lot of them.

I still think he's got to get a statement together to make - either one way or the other. If the news hadn't broken, he wouldn't have had to - but I think he'd be better off doing that now.

It says TMZ on their microphones. Honestly, I don't think it would have mattered at this point who the "reporter" really was. I cannot imagine how upsetting it must be to have personal medical files/info leaked like that. They have even announced the gender of the baby. Talk about taking everything exciting out of this for them Mad I don't think Clay would be stupid enough to think the paps were just there to congratulate him.

I agree that a statement should be made and ASAP! Because it has really gotten ugly. Foster family reps said nothing would be stated until after the baby is born, and I am sure Clay is going to go along with whatever Jaymes wants because HE is a gentlemen. If she says she wants nothing said until after the birth, I am sure Clay will tell his people that is the way it is.

Sadly, no matter what his career is going to take a hit with this. My mom finally heard it (I spare her all the ugly details of Clay's tabloid troubles) and as much as she loves him she thinks it is weird for him to have a baby with a 50 year old woman, especially if they are "just friends". She doesn't think that is the way a baby should come into the world. See lots of issues for them all to deal with (so do I actually) and she can't imagine why he wouldn't want the mother of his first child to be a woman he is in love with and committed to. Well, I kinda wish it happened that way for him too. But, he didn't ask me Razz
