| I just hate all these rough times right now..............things have got to get better soon. One can hope with the elections that things will go better.
Frazzle, I know too well the cost of crowns and dental work. It boggles my mind the money it costs.
FC, I sure hope things go better for you too.

| I decided to change my avator to a pic of me looking the way I wish I looked now (except older) to inpire me to shape up realistically.
Regarding all the financial hardships going on, new leadership has to be better than the old.
OY my teeth! Thanks, Sky.

| Frazz, I LOVE your new Avi! You look fantastic! I hope it works for you! Man, I need some motivation like that! I am so mad at myself for not staying thin like I used to be I love to cook and bake and EAT! I love going out to eat It's like my fave social thing to do. I am so bad I agree Sky - why on earth is this dental stuff so expensive?! My mom has a toothache so I am taking her to the dentist Friday. She has no dental insurance. From what I remember Medicare doesn't help with dental, but I will check. I sure hope she doesn't need crowns or a bridge. She thinks it is two teeth, but I know that all the nerves by the bad tooth can hurt - so hopefully it is just one tooth. | |

| In answer to your question about SS# and waiver...even my friend who's a hypnotherapist, I believe, requires at least one of those things...so I don't think you can. Even clinical trials make you sign that stuff.
...hmmmmm...off to find an avi of Cindy Crawford...

| I've filled out quite a few medical forms lately and I don't think I've put my SS on there.
I like you avi Frazz , it is cool. Man it takes discipline to stay in shape. I love the endorphin rush I get from running though . Nothing else like it. After I cut out all junk food , save for Dark Chocolate I find I just don't want it anymore.
Dental work is the most expensive medical wise.

| I hope you are right Frazz, about the benefits that having a Democrat in office will help us middle class working folks get ahead and get more reasonable and accessible medical benefits. I have always been told that Democrats always raise taxes to pay for the all the social programs which gouge the middle class, but if everything else like food, gas, and medical costs come down, heck I am willing to pay more taxes since I guess it will all even out somehow... I have an interesting article in a Physician's Practice journal I nabbed at work entitled " Is True Reform Finally At Hand This Election Year?". I will bring anything interesting over to politics. Frazz, your avie is so cute btw! The only thing about getting all slim is what happens to the middle age face...I guess there is always Restylene or whatever! | |

| I just want to look like the older version of that instead of a whole nother unrecognizable thing to myself, which is what I look like now. Dunno if it can be done, but I am sure that losing about 30 lbs will help. If I lose the whole 60 extra my jowls will be down to my boobs and my boobs will be down to my ankles, so i won't go all the way. | |

| Oh, I would love to lose 30 lbs!! I wouldn't care where my boobs ended up! would just get a Wonder Bra! My face is still thin so I do not have to worry about jowls. It's all in the hips and thighs. Hey, I got a bunch of those "reusable" grocery bags today. I love them! Any of you guys using them? Justin says the baggers love them! Much easier. I got some insulated ones too for putting ice cream and dairy items in. I'm going green!! | |

| Next year, Seattle will be charging 20 cents for paper or plastic bags!!! Now, I don't mind using the reusuable bags now offered for purchase, but.... I'll have to start buying plastic or paper wastebasket bags if I don't use the plastic bags from the grocery store! So what's the benefit? Right now, I'm recycling those plastic bags I get at the grocery for my wastebaskets. I understand the threat of all the plastic we use..........just throwing a thought out there! | |

| I use some of those plastic bags for wastebaskets too! Hubby usually bundles them up and take them back to the store. I hadn't heard about being charged for bags at the store I do need to get the paper ones every now and then as that is what we use under the kitchen sink for our garbage bag. They hold a lot of kitchen garbage! | |

I hadn't heard about being charged for bags at the store I do need to get the paper ones every now and then as that is what we use under the kitchen sink for our garbage bag. They hold a lot of kitchen garbage! I do take some back to the store because I end up with way too many of them. The checkers seem to think they can only put 2-3 items per bag, so you end up with multiple bags! Yes, starting next year (I forget the exact date) Seattle will give each household one reusable bag and start charging 20 cents for each plastic or paper bag. I don't live within the Seattle city limits, but the surrounding cities might follow suit. Where will the money go that the stores get for the bags? Why it will be the stores to keep! I buy plastic garbage bags for my garbage. We only get garbage pick up every other week now, if I couldn't cinch all the garbage up in plastic.......ewww.........not a very nice smell. We are great recyclers, but some stuff we are not allowed to recycle.

| In Hollywood it is consider rude and gauche not to have your own bags.
So I have several bags, not wanting to be rude and gauche on that particular issue.
I think what we are suposed to do with smelly garbage is make compost out of it.; Once that becomes something easy to do I will do it. Meantime, I also buy garbage bags for the garbage.
I think the trend is good, even if the wrinkles in the system are clearly not worked out yet.

| I think getting rid of the plastic bags is a good idea and people will get used to either bringing their own reusable bags or just wheeling the cart out the car and loading the items themselves. Costco in my area doesn't have any bags at all. They will put items in boxes that previously held products if requested, but most people don't bother. I carry a couple of boxes in my SUV and load my purchases into them.
I have been using the plastic bags for waste basket liners also, but if they are eliminated, I'll probably just use paper bags for liners. It's what I used to do before the plastic bags. The rest I wrapped in old newspapers. Those of us who have yard waste here can add the food scraps to the yard waste bin. I think it's a pretty good deal.

| Congrats to AerwinSon for 3 AP classes!! Just 1 AP for my Senior baby. He starts his senior year on the 20th. I already have to pull him out of his last class early that first day because he has to see the Orthopedic hand specialist that day. I need to call the school and find out how to get him excused from class early. I never had to do that before. My other baby starts his sophomore year of college soon! Just wait until you have to let the words "my baby in college" sink in! I am going to get more of the reusable bags! I think they are going to work out so good for me! I need to do so much grocery shopping between the 4 of us and all the daycare kids! I would surely go broke if I had to pay for all the plastic bags every week! | |

| Hey, everybody. Positive vibes, please. We got some very bad news at my library today. There will be layoffs. We currently have six full-time librarians in my unit; when it's all over, there will be only three, and one of them will get a title demotion. Some people may get transferred to branches. That would be OK. I can transfer. Change is good.
I have been the chairperson of the system-wide Summer Reading Club for two years running, which is really unusual. I have good computer skills for this crew, and I got a maximum five out of five on my last evaluation - and the supervisor has to get special approval to give that. My husband thinks I've got nothing to worry about, but you never know what they are looking for. They may decide they need everybody to be a computer guru/webmaster, and all I have to show them is a crummy myspace that has too much American Idol stuff on it.
We find out next Wednesday. Wish me luck!
