| Jared is the gorgeous young man in GE's avi!! He stars in "Supernatural"! There is a thread here about the show and it's stars that GE started. I am sure that she and I will be back in that thread when the new season starts up in a few weeks. CANNOT wait!! | |

| Woohoo! FC!!!! You betcha baby! We're chomping at the bit so bad in his thread at TwoP for new stuff, that we glomped onto this and are going through pages way faster than we have been!
Jared presented the award to "High School Musical". When those kids gathered around him it was HYSTERICAL because he's like 6'4, 6'5 and it looked like Munchinkland around him. One girl said it was him and the Lollipop Guild! He's bending down and it still looks like Hagrid amidst the students. It's that drastic. Zac Effron must have felt like a girl next to him!
I will look up to see if it's on YouTube. OH! (this should probably go in the Jared thread, but WTH) He went into the press tent and commented about how hot it was. One woman IN THE PRESS GUILD yelled for him to TAKE OFF HIS SHIRT!!!! He started to pretend he was going to...sigh. That's some powerful mojo to turn the press people into squeeing fangirls!
Sanjaya was there and he looked adorable. I'm thrilled he got the award.

| Some Bo news. His new CD is called "See The Light" and the name of his label is Sugar$/Stratart.
Here's the press release:
"Bo Bice’s new record “See the Light,” due out October 23 as the first release from his newly formed $ugarmoney/StratArt Records, teamed Bo up with producer Frank Liddell. The result is a fresh and soulful take on Bo’s Southern Rock roots; it’s the album he was born to make!"

| News from Blake! - Quote :
- Blake Lewis just posted a bulletin on his MySpace stating the following:
"Made a new picture for you guys and posted about my album.
Audio Day Dream coming out November 27th.
Love and Happiness - Blake"
And here's the actual blog:
"Hey everyone... Just got the date for my album release. November 27th. Right after Thanksgiving weekend. I'm so excited!! I have been waiting to make a full length album for the longest time. Its a mix of all the great pop music that has inspired me since the 80's. Electro/funk/soul/pop I call it my 2080's album. One mix from the start to finish, like a great Electronic or Hip-Hop mix tape.
As soon as tour gets wrapped up, i'll be shooting my album cover, documentary and finishing the record. Can't wait for you to get it in your hands.
Love and Happiness - Blake"
Electronic/Hip-Hop mix?? I think I will pass - no Hip-Hop for me

| OK, I was totally unprepared to like Blake's CD as much as I do!! It has a lot of Timberlake and a little Back Street Boys. It is really a fun CD and he sounds really good on it. If he wrote all these songs and did the arrangements (as I have heard) than he is truly a very talented young man. I think he might get some really good reviews from critics for this because I think he proves he is an "artist". You can listen to samples here at Barnes and Noble. I think I might actually pick this CD up.

Here is his Official Site. Looks pretty cool.

| I love dance music Sky and this sounds like a really upbeat CD. The only thing I worry about is you can't tell from the small clips how much rap there is. Several songs are over 4 mins so I sure would like to hear the whole CD before I purchase it. I will keep my eyes open for one of those AOL First Listen sites. | |

| Hey everyone! Big hugs to my girl firecracker! I haven't talked to you in ages. I registered on this site sooo long ago and I never did post...but anyway, I'm delurking b/c I see y'all are talking about Blake's CD! I'm so excited to get it. I love all the clips. I've actually had 4 of his new songs since August, though they are only rough mixes. (Long story!) Can't wait to hear the final versions. Anyway, I've had... How Many Words - super pretty song. No rapping! It's like...if Gwen Stefani was male! Know My Name - someone (NOT ME!) leaked this one about a month ago. You can find it on YouTube I'm pretty sure. My favorite part about it is the bridge...he sings in rounds and there's a little beatboxing. It's just perfect. From what I understand they did add a rapper to this track, Lupe Fiasco. I've listened to some of his stuff online and I really like it...is there such a thing as alternative rap? Because that's how I'd describe Lupe's sound. Oh, fwiw my bootleg mp3 has the track titled as "Natalie Portman." Gots To Get Her - okay, my mp3 is totally different from the final version. The chorus on mine goes, "She's gonna give in tonight, she's gonna give in tonight, she gonna she gonna she gonna give in"...so they changed this one up a ton. I hope they didn't mess with the bridge though, because like "Know My Name" it's SICK!! And again no rapping. The other one I have didn't make it onto the CD I guess. It's called "Please Don't Stop" and it's really too bad because it has some GORGEOUS vocal layers on the bridge. And...NO RAPPING. Are you seeing a pattern here? Maybe it will be a bonus track or something. I have no idea how well Blake's album will sell, but I'm stoked to get my copy. Blake worked with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic ("Apologize") a lot - on 8 tracks from what I understand. Gots To Get Her, Know My Name, and Hate 2 Love Her were all co-written/produced by Blake and Ryan. Well, anyway, just wanted to pop in on the Blake talk. I hate seeing Season 6 get crapped on all the time because Blake and Jordin are my favorite final two ever (I'm pretty disappointed in Jordin's album though and did not buy it.) Hope you all are doing well! Happy Holidays!! | |

| ROTFL, I only went to the tour once. Blake was definitely the highlight for me and the overall crowd fave. I took this video of him performing "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 using his loop pedals. It was one of the prettiest things I've ever heard! I love how he tags it with U2 at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2t-nVqgg90 Someone just posted the songwriting credits over at TWOP. Blake has a co-writing credit on all of them but one! 1 Silence Is Golden... (Intro) [live] 0:32 2 Break Anotha - Biancaniello, Lewis, Tedder, Watters 3:09 3 Gots to Get Her - Berlin, Jones, Lewis, Oliver, Tedder ... 3:09 4 Know My Name - Hoge, Jaco, Lewis, Tedder 3:58 Performed by: Lewis, Lupe Fiasco 5 How Many Words - Hollander, Katz, Lewis 3:34 6 Surrender - Bogart, Tedder 3:43 7 Hate 2 Love Her - Lewis, Tedder 4:14 8 Without You - Harris, Hurley, Lewis 4:22 9 Here's My Hello - Hollander, Katz, Lewis 4:16 10 What'cha Got 2 Lose? - Lewis, Richardson, Rotem 4:06 11 She's Makin' Me Lose It - BT, Greggs, Lewis 3:55 12 Bshorty Grabs Mic! [live] 1:08 13 End of the World - Biancaniello, Johnson, Lewis, Mani, Omley, Tedder, Watters ... 3:33 14 1000 Miles - Elizondo, Hodges, Lewis 4:17 15 I Got U - Lewis, Tedder 3:37 16 ...I Choose Noise (Outro) [live] 1:06 It seems like Clive Davis really likes him and let him do his thing...it will be interesting to see how everything plays out! Here's some fun videos... Blake in studio with Ryan Tedder & Steph Jones recording "Gots To Get Her" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=augmNUyVjiI Blake as Bob Bobberson (a character he made up, lol) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78gcFAHwwzo | |

| I will say this; I knew that Blake was probably the most interesting musician we had in season six, even if he didn't have the powerhouse vocals that are usually associated with AI. I hope he sells well; not sure if I will buy it or not. Hip hop is not my thing. Maybe I'll download something. I tunes is a good thing. | |

| Hip Hop isn't my thing either, in fact I hate it, but if Shannon says there isn't much of it than that is cool because the songs sound really fun! I don't think powerhouse vocals matter that much in the pop music world. I don't think Timberlake has much of a voice or John Mayer and they have not only sold a zillion CDs but are multiple Grammy winners. Lord knows Britney isn't a powerhouse or Duff. I think for mainstream pop it is about the song and if they can sorta sing they are cool with it . Besides, I'm spoiled. Not a lot of singers out there that can come close to Clay's powerhouse voice! True, AI does lean toward finding the powerful singers and they sure have found some great ones! I know they say it is a singing competition, but I think Simon's original idea was to find a huge popstar and that isn't only about singing. Looks, style, stage presence, video appeal etc. all factor in. I think that is why he was so against Taylor winning. He didn't see a popstar there. | |

| I've always said that I'll take an interesting voice over a pretty voice any day of the week. There are tons of good singers out there who can hold a note. The trick is telling a story, and having range and some personality. So, Blake has been one of the most interesting AI contestants to come along in that he broke the mold. They have the divas and the rockers, but not the pop/hip hop guy. I happen to be a fan of hip hop.
Welcome Shannon and thanks for the review!

I saw Ryan interviewed on E!News last night and he talked about how the contestants can play instruments during the competition this year. Then they showed Blake banging away on the drums. He was amazing! Too bad we couldn't have seen he drum during his performances.

I'm the same way! I'd much prefer an interesting voice. I think that is why I love Jordis Unga (from Rockstar/INXS). Her personality didn't win any votes but her voice is so interesting and haunting in some of her songs.

- Blake is tracking to sell 90K per HDD. It was just not a good year for Idol.
When you consider that both Jordin and Blake's CDs came out at the holiday shopping frenzy time, they really have low sales. Oh well, things could pick up for them if they have a hit single. Blake's CD is getting mixed reviews. Some really great reviews with a lot of praise, to one I read that called it a total mess. Well, I think Idols are used to that by now.

| Good for Chris. He got some Grammy nods too. Weird he didn't get a Best New Artist nom. I wonder what they will do if Daughtry wins best rock album. Who goes up with him to accept - the band who actually is on the recording (I hope) or the one he travels and performs with? Clive never should have put them in that position If the CD wins then the band that played on it should get the Grammy IMO. I was also sad that Elliott didn't get a best new artist nom. I listened to his CD all morning driving to a doc appointment and Xmas shopping. He has a great voice and put out a truly excellent CD. I find him much better then that Taylor Swift girl (adorable as she may be). | |
