| It was the David Cook show all the way.... I do think TPTB want him to win in a big way...the tide has turned now for sure. For them to give him the Aerosmith tune was a gift compared to what the others got. Syesha showcased herself for film and the stage...as if she knew she does'nt have a chance in hell of making it further. hmmmmm. We always knew it folks...it is between the two Davids. And it will be interesting to see how the face-off between the different fan factions is really going to play out. Those tweens, grannies, and religious right have tremendous voting power, but apparently Idol must have a more sophisticated audience base like ourselves too that have more discerning taste and like rock music. | |

| Under the bus was Syesha's position.
I swear, that girl will be a star, possibly of movies, definitely of theater productions, and maybe of diva recordings. I think she is way better than Beyonce at similar things.
David Cook is the one I expect to be hearing about forever...much like Neil Diamond. I don't mean he sounds like him, just that I expect him to have a very long career on about that level.
David Archuleta. I dunno. I just hope he gets out of the whole business and learns to be whoever he has a genuine kernel of being. I expect him to win this contest, and I hope it doesn't make his fragile persona disappear altogether.

| Under the bus is right! Good one! I do fear for David A. if he does win too. Losing yourself to showbiz at such a young age...it really can't be good for any kid. | |

| I agree that DA appears to be very timid. I find that odd because he's been in front of cameras a lot in his life. His voice could be and sometimes is, just beautiful, but it is so annoying to hear his breaths everytime he takes a breath. I wish him well in his singing career IF that is what HE wants...........but not for AI..........this one is DC's! | |

| Unpopular opinion coming.
Feel free to scroll.
Syesha got robbed. That bus slammed into her every bit as hard as it slammed into Jason Castro, and for exactly the same reason. My heart is not as hurt by it, but I'm offended in principle. This was blatant and really annoying.
Archie sang two bland songs robotically. He forgot the words - hey, isn't that a cardinal sin that makes the judging panel spew personal abuse? - and then he tried a Chris Brown song that was almost ridiculous. He was no better or worse this week than Jason was last week, and those judges covered his ass like his dad was blackmailing them.
David Cook deserves to win the competition. Now, I don't think he really sang very well last night. I am hearing some very pronounced vocal strain; they need to give these kids a day off. But he is very much the wisest winner for them. However, the pimping and preferential treatment was really obvious and off-putting, and he's my favorite contestant left.
I think I'm just really over the favoritism in this rigged piece of crap.

| I have to run out soon for most of the day so I don't have time to copy and paste, but I have now read several reports from media types who were there last night, that Nigel was beaming, jumping up and down and pumping his fists after DC's last performance! It is said that Nigel really wants DC to win! Clearly so do Paula and Simon! What is up with Randy and his ass kissing of Archie? I mean seriously. The boy has a pretty voice, but his performances are so lacking. That is also what I am reading everywhere. That he is robotic, emotionless and doesn't connect to the songs or the audience at all. BUT, like many of the articles I am reading also mention that besides the little girls and grannies, Archie will get the religious right vote. So who knows who will win, but TPTB do know who should win! Crossing my fingers DC can pull it off some how.
I do not really agree about Syehsa. I think she could get theater work yes - but I do not think she is special enough to stand out among the current successful crop of young afro-American singers/performers. I don't even think she is as good or interesting as Jordin.
Got to run! Looking forward to seeing my DC's face tonight when he is told he made it to the finals!! He did end up with a great lead on DI, but I know that doesn't include the tests votes - so who knows.

I don't think the show is rigged right from the beginning. I've always had a hunch that the early rounds of votes give TPTB an indication of who the fans are favoring - but I think these later rounds are already decided. I was one of those people who was up late on the boards during season 4 and I saw that press release from over in England come through announcing Carrie as the winner 2 days before the actual sing off competition night. That's when I lost faith in the ability of voters to make a difference. I'll agree with Abrahammy that Syesha got robbed. However, until SiCow sits still enough to watch an entire show either in LA or the West End, and until he sees the value of promoting a show/song style person, people like Syesha won't get through. So in some ways, she did well making it to step 3. I was sort of pulling for David A. a few weeks ago, but I also think David C. should win. He'd make a nice representative of AI; certainly seems like a nice fellow. However, I think no matter what spot David C. comes in at, he'll get a big record deal.

| I agree Lau, David C. will get a record deal no matter what. I had kind of hoped he would'nt win and have to live with that stigma forever. I think he is talented enough to overcome it though. No one acts like it was a detriment to Carrie Underwood's carreer..but, country is known for being the home of cheese and contrived. No offense to any country fans, I like some of it too. | |

| Last week DialIdol had DC as #1 and Archie #2 but ZabaSearch had Archie #1 and DC #2. That is because ZS counts the texts. So for ZS to have DC #1 is really exciting! Of course who knows what will happen next week. I am guessing the Syesha fans will be more likely to vote for Archie than DC. Plus the fact that Archie's style and voice are more suited to the coronation type songs.
I just read an article that said they think the same thing will happen this season that happened in season 2. Archie will win but David Cook (the runner up) will be more successful.

| There is no doubt that whatever position David Cook ends up in, HE will be more successful........no doubt.
The studios are up and David C. recorded the Aerosmith song.....I LOVE it, but would have preferred the Roberta Flack song.
David A did "Longer"................I hate to admit it, but it sounds good, because you can't hear him taking breaths.
I haven't listened to Syesha's.

| The breaths that you mention sky, don't really distract me when David A. sings. It does'nt really surprize me that you can't hear it in a recording.
I would have preferred The first time for DC's recording too, I thought he did a beautiful job on that tune myself.

| Firecracker, as a fairly dispassionate observer, I can state quite clearly: David Cook is going to win American Idol. Let me explain why. - He's TCO now. - The Archuletas are self-destructing in a fiery blast of difficult bullcrap. I strongly suspect if they could have seen into the future four weeks ago TPTB would have been bolstering Jason up to take Archie's place in finale, because what's going on now is ugly. They don't want Archie to win anymore. - All the Dreadheads and Castronauts who have not fallen aside in despair are voting for Cook. That's a BIG group of swing voters. - Cook's giving Archie a thrashing on Dial Idol. This one's over. The last suspenseful vote of American Idol 2008 was on Neil Diamond night. The bus came for Jason, the bus has come for Syesha, and next week, the bus is gonna mow Jeff Archuleta down, and it's taking that poor little boy out with him. This season began beautifully, but it's having a very, very ugly ending. And the only saving grace... is Cook. Edited to add: OK, I'm letting the kids play on the Wii right now. Gotta ask. What has Fantasia done that's causing such a strong reaction on EVERY message board I'm checking out???? (I don't like Fantasia.) | |

| Abrahammy - Fanty's performance was the biggest WTF?? I have ever seen on AI or maybe any music show! The girl is just plain awful!! Simon was watching with his jaw dropped and eyes wide open in total disbelief Look for it on You Tube! You won't believe it! I so hope you are right Abrahammy and my DC has a fantastic week next week! I am sorry for Archie for a lot of reasons. But when it comes right down to it I just don't think he is the best performer. I think second place is where he belongs because his voice is great. DC is just more the whole package. Still, I have this feeling that Archie's fans will go into overdrive. I am happy that The Dreadheads are going to through their votes to DC! | |
