| Yes, they have wonderful faces, but no, I am not keen on the elf ears. I really like the Bobobie dolls though. Super cute. Not as fabulous as those super expensive ones, but at least they are within my realm of possibility! I really look forward to being able to order one.
No, we have called EVERY organization there is out here and they will NOT take my dad anywhere. Legal issues. They would drive him but not help him in and out of the car. The van services out here are only on contracts with the hospitals or rehabs/nursing homes. They took him from rehab to appointments, but will not come and get him from home. A van took him home from the hospital because of the contract with the hospital. We have called veteran groups, churches, community services, cabs services - you name it. They will drive him but they won't touch him.
Starting tomorrow the therapists are going to work on him getting in and out of the SUV. I am so sure that will be easier than the Saturn. He however seems afraid of the SUV. The Saturn is too low to the ground and a tough uphill climb to get out. I think once he can pivot on the left leg he will be better off. Right now they are not thinking of assisted living. Things are going better at home and yes, they have high hopes about when he has both legs. I mean things are not great and never will be, but as long as they are managing, they are staying in their home.
I ended up showering soon after my last post, so tomorrow will be my real test for the MediMatte. I am excited! So happy it works so well for you. Vacation is definitely when I would want it! We always leave early in the morning to site see/whatever and don't get back to the hotel until late after we ate dinner somewhere.

| That is such a shame there are no services for those folks that have special needs, but can pay for it! Here there is a program called People for People that will take and assist elderly, handicapped, or anyone who has medical coupons or in other words is low income. And no surprize, I live in a low income area with high poverty. Plus, Washington state is big on social programs-which is great for some folks..not so great for those of us paying for it.
When I was in Italy, we saw some kind of social service minivan taking an elderly person somewhere with two workers there I am thinking to assist the person. One was driving and the other riding along...
I get really angry sometimes when I see all the services available for low income folks, illegal aliens, drug dealers, murderers etc. And those of us middle income people who have worked so hard for everything we have wind up having to struggle and pay for everything, sometimes even lose everything they have to get all the services they need. It just isn't fair.
But, don't get me started on the ills of our Healthcare system...that will get my blood pressure up for sure!

| I know what you mean Today I had to get my dad a tube of this cream that the ortho surgeon wants my dad to put on his right stump before he gets his leg and this little tube was $95. Medicare doesn't pay for prescriptions. The VA won't pay for a lot of his meds. They don't have supplemental ins. because it was way too expensive with all my dads health issues and my mom's heart condition. They only have medicare. | |

| Yes, the middle income elderly and folks who get major illnesses that their insurance companies won't cover certain treatments and drugs really have it tough-which will involve all of us eventually at some time in our lives.
And I just don't think politicians can fix it anymore. It is so out of control and complex because of decades of mismanagement. Drug companies, insurance companies, and medicare run the show now for all of us. And there is a problem in this country with not knowing when to stop agressive treatment for incurable illnesses, with expensive treatment after expensive procedure being offered as the hospital bill skyrockets out of control, and the hospital loses money because most of what is charged is not reimbursed. Intensive care units throughout the country are housing elderly patients on ventilators for weeks, sometimes months, when their really is no chance of any quality of life for the patient in sight.
Ok, I will stop my ranting now. I see so much at work that I don't agree with and I don't understand how medicine has spiralled so out of control in this country. We can do amazing things sometimes, but so often do not do well preparing and helping patient's families to be able to let their loved one go to end their suffering when there is nothing else that can be done for them.

| I agree. I would'nt pay big bucks for an animal. It should be interesting to see how much I really like mine since I never have had one before. (the nameless one!) I need a sorcerer name for him. One animal should definitely be enough though! He and Hid should be here by Christmas! Featherfall said they expect arrival in Canada on the 13th-20th. That should allow a good chance for Christmas! I will wait until Christmas Eve to open them if they arrive before! I can't believe you will have your 3 Taeyangs soon! Where will you put them? | |

| Oh what a wonderful Xmas Eve it will be!! You get to open your incredible man and fox and I get 3 new boys!! I can put 3 dolls on each shelf and add one more to the table behind my desk. After that I will need another shelf!! Didi is thinking of selling some of her Pullips. I am so tempted to see if she wants to sell her Chill nude. When I have my dark haired/dark eyed beauty I will probably be done with Pullips. I still want Butler though, so at least one more Taeyang. If I get more J-Dolls displaying them won't be a problem since they don't take up much room and I have good spots in my office for them. Next year when I move on to Bobobie dolls I will have to do some rearranging! Did you see the new pix of Cinnamon Roll? God is she CUTE!! I wouldn't mind having about two Dals. They have really grown on me. Well, I have had my make-up on for two hours and no shiny face yet!! Have a great day!! | |

| Good news! I am very pleased with the MediMatte. I didn't go all day shinefree, but I went a very long time and my make-up stayed on really well all day. Now if I don't get blackheads then this product will be something I will continue to use. At the price I may need to only use it when I go out instead of everyday, but it sure is good to know there is something this good out there! | |

| Glad to hear you have had good results also with the Medimatte! I still get shiny too as the day goes on, but not as bad I usually would and I don't have to touch up near as much! There is no product out there that can handle my kind of grease for very long either! This one helps more than most though so I will only use it for work and going out somewhere special, not for everyday because of the cost too. I like the Jolie DAL quite a bit, but will probaby not buy her. I feel very content with the dolls I have and don't have any desire to buy more at the moment. I hope I feel the same way about BJD's for a while and that the two new ones satisfy me for a long time. Because as with Pullips, the really nice clothes, wigs, and shoes cost a bloody fortune! Pru does seem very lonely though! I think she may need a Bobobie sprite sister sometime down the road... Sounds like you have the places all figured out for the new boys! Eeek! What fun! Remind me what girl is going to be paired with what boy again? | |

| Oh that Luts is gorgeous!! I love her face-up! I would love that Sprite if her ears were a little smaller She has a great face but I would have to put a wig on that covers her ears the way that Clay Aiken had to grow his hair to cover his! I am thrilled about finding the Bobobies! The prices are so reasonable and I think that they will be a great introduction into the BJDworld for me! Jolie is a cutie too. I'm so tempted by Cinnamon Roll though. I won't get her, but she is just adorable. There are new pix of her at PS today. I have not decided for sure who goes with who yet. On Xmas day when the new boys get to come out and play with the others Ill wait and see who clicks with who. Of course Natalie and Flynn are a couple for sure. But I am leaning toward the following pairings: Clay with Didi and Luca with Kira. I think Landon (my Lead) will go good with Philana and Mac (my Missionary) would match up well with Cayenne. I can't wait to have them all together!!! | |

| You could always sand the sprite's ears down to the size and shape you want...I don't think that is a tough thing to do, then just apply a light coat of matte sealer to the sanded edges. I bet your younger son would be able to help you...he sounds like he is good with those kind of things. - Quote :

That sounds like a great plan, but I know what you mean about having to see some of the couples together first before you can make a final decision. Ok, I guess I better go check out cinnamon roll...

| Yes, Justin probably could do a really good job on that, but he is the one who was so freaked out by the Pullips, so lord knows what he might do if I handed him an elf/pixie!! I can't wait to hear what you think of Cinnamon Roll! I would love to have a few Dals, but now that I have found the Bobobies I am sure I will make them my first priority for a new collection. Cinnamon Roll! Well, I best be going, so sleep good and talk to you tomorrow! | |

| Yes, that Cinnamon Roll girl is quite a cutie! Especially out of her stock! Did you see her in the little brown dress serving tea? But, they are probably asking close to 100.00 for her I bet right? Although I'm sure eventually she will show up nude... I think my next one will be a Bobobbie...they seem like really nice dolls for the price. Plus, very unique. I am fading fast too...must go crash soon myself! Man, I am sure glad tomorrow is Friday! | |

| Hi Luca! Hope you are having a great day! I am here waiting for the window guy to show up and replace a handle in one of our bedroom windows. I ran out this morning to Wal-mart and I found a cute little tree and some tiny garland to put on the shelve next to Clay and Neora. I didn't find the packages I wanted but I did find some other little packages that I put around the little tree. So the shelves look really cute! I found some cute Xmas craft projects there also so I skipped the craft shop for today. Maybe Monday after I take my dad to the VA I'll run into a craft shop and see what all I can find that might go with the dolls for Xmas. Also, Wal-Mart didn't have the icicle lights I wanted, so I guess hubby and I will head out tonight and try and find something. Yes, I saw Cinnamon Roll in her little brown dress serving tea! So cute! Today is Clay Aiken's 29th birthday! Every year he gets older I feel a little less like a cougar!! TTYL!! | |

| Hey, when I first fell in love with Clay he was 24 and I was twice his age!! I'm no longer twice his age! So I can feel a little less pervy However, next year when he turns 30 he will be too old for me, since clearly I like them young!!!! The window man left about 15 mins. ago. We have new handles on the master windows. For some reason the handles were always a little stiff and then one recently broke off. So we got new ones for both windows. No cost to us. Our windows came with lifetime guarantees on everything! Yes, my gang is looking quite festive and lovely! I will still hit the craft store and see what else I can come up with. The desire to throw money at my dolls never ends!!! | |

| You are not going to believe this On Weds. the ortho surgeon says dad can go ahead and get the right leg. Yesterday Eric takes him for measurements for new leg. Today the ortho nurse comes to look at the stump and when she took everything off the stump there was a lot of blood and the one little pink spot they had been watching had opened up and revealed a new ulcer. It is 3cm deep. Nurse says "This is not good". She calls the surgeon and he says we have to go right from the VA appointment Monday morning to his office to see what we should do about it. The nurse put some silver thing in the hole to help stop infection and she will be back tomorrow to look at things. Oh man - what are we in for now? I cannot believe that after having been told all was well just TWO FREAKING DAYS AGO that he now has another ulcer. It just never ends. | |

| I can't see that page. It says I don't have the privileges. Probably because I only have one post Don't you need like 40 intelligent posts or something? There was a red spot/scab for awhile after the amputation. Scab came off after treatment and the red spot had faded to pink. As of Weds. it was still a pink spot that the Doc said was looking fine. There is also a blister next to this new sore. I am wondering if all the struggling to get out of the car on Weds. and Thurs. brought things to a head? Best I can tell is the skin looked OK, but with diabetic ulcers you never know what is going on behind the skin with the tissue. I am thinking the skin was masking the fact that the tissue was in trouble and then the skin became thin enough to open up, or was broken open during the struggling. He should have worn the casts out Weds. but they are heavy and my folks felt it would be easier to get him in and out without the weight. So either that was a bad decision since we now have the open sore, or it was good we found out things were not healing as well as everyone thought before we got the right prosthetic. I sure hope he doesn't need to go to the hospital tomorrow. The doc said if he gets a fever he is to go to the ER ASAP. We have an ice storm predicted for tomorrow. Rob already plans to drive the boys to work so that they do not have to drive in it. Then Rob has to work. I sure would hate to have to worry about getting to the hospital on these winding country roads in an ice storm. I will freak the hell out! I'm scared enough in the snow storms. The roads out in the farmlands are not a priority to take care of. | |

That is probably exactly what has been going on. It is probably good to know now what lies ahead. I will pray that you don't have to take him in the ice storm...maybe it would be worth it this time to call an ambulance if the weather is really bad. I know that costs a fortune, but those folks are use to driving in inclement weather and your safety and nerves are worth more than saving money at this point. But, there is a chance it will hold until Monday before you need to do anything...I hope! I am goint to crash now. TTY tomorrow! Try not to worry...

| Good morning! I can see the pix on the second link, just not the first. Yes, I just checked our weather forecast and we have a 100% chance of freezing rain, sleet and ice. Rob is going to drive Justin to work at noon and Eric at 3:00. Then pick Justin up at 6:00 PM and Eric at 11:00 PM. Rob has to go to a customer site at 7:30 PM and will be out in time to pick Eric up and bring him home. Oh what a fun day he will have and I get to spend the day worrying about them all Thank god they will be in the big conversion van. It's heavy. It may slide around but if they have an accident it is like riding in a tank I need to keep the Saturn here with me and Rob's van is going to the dealership today because it is making a funny noise that our regular Firestone guy can't figure out what it is. There is just no way I wanted the boys driving themselves in this mess. I had already decided last night that if my dad develops a fever I am telling mom to call the ambulance. They have before a few times. Driving that little Saturn is horrible on slick roads, plus we cannot be struggling to get him in and out in that type of weather. I am just thankful that the nurse is coming today on her day off to treat the wound and check his vitals. Tomorrow is suppose to be a much better day precipitation wise. My fear is that even if he goes by ambulance I will still have to get to the hospital to be with him. Well, welcome to winter in Chicago-land!! Hey, what are winters like by you? Are they better or worse than what we get? Do the horses have to stay in when it is cold and snowy? I have never been to your beautiful state. I do hope to get there one day. I hear wonderful things about it! Did you get the email from mEda about selling wigs? She is quite the little business mogul!! I love so much of her new stuff, but her prices can be just a bit too high for me. When it comes to wigs I am waiting for JPOP sales! Of course the BJDs wigs are not so bad in price. Do you work today? Hope you have a wonderful day! See you later! | |
