| They went for $6. I would have gladly paid that because they are about the only boots out there besides Nero's for type 2's. She had them split down the back but that would be OK because I have had to cut several of the shoes for my guys to get them off. I fear the dreaded "broken ankle". I know what you mean about the price of shoes. Miniwoo has had some truly AMAZING heels and boots for type 3's, but they are around $20 pre shipping No way will I pay that! Not when I can get Barbie shoes with outfits. They may not be quite as cool, but $20 for shoes when you can get whole stock outfits for $30 to $40 is just crazy. I really think so many sellers in the doll world rip us doll addicts | |

| You've got that right about ripping us doll addicts! Oy, Does it ever end? So much of the stuff we buy is imported-which adds to the price, then add shipping from overseas on top of that and there you go! Did you have a good day with your 5 kids today? | |

| Yes, they keep me hopping! But I had them make a mural on the chalkboard wall which kept them busy for quite awhile AND the baby (18 mos) slept from 1:30 to 4:30!! Which was a great break because her dad came to pick her up at 4:45! Man, I came so close to buying a doll all evilbay today This Canadian seller is selling the one Hestia I have been drawn to for $69.99 BIN. Man I was so tempted. But if I got her I couldn't get a Prunella for Mom's day and I have never seen a Hestia photoshoot, only her promo pix, and I just wasn't sure I would be as happy as I would with Prunella. There are some sites selling some Hestias for over $300. I assume they are rare or something. This is the doll: She is so pretty isn't she? I just love her stock! | |

| I think Hestia dolls are really cool. I really like the fantasy, goth, renaissance stuff as you know. That is such an unbelievably good price for her! I think her stock is unbelievable! I think with added eyelashes she would look very BJDish! Even more than J-dolls do. Well, I had some unfinished business over at DOA that I needed to take care of...since my bad transaction thread has gotten nearly 200 views, I felt the need to give my two cents about it. Hey, what the hell do I have to lose at this point? And who the heck does she think she is anyway to react so strongly, crucify me, then walk away as she takes the doll off the market to probably go give it a face-up and lower the price! This is what I wrote in response...It felt really good to do it after having a few days to digest it all and get my head straight about how over the top and punitive this gal smacked me down over something she made some questionable judgements on herself! - Quote :
- Since nearly 200 people have viewed this thread now, I would like to give my thoughts on this negative transaction experience. If such a huge issue is going to be made of this, then you should hear my side also.
I accept I should have waited for Julia's response before I "threatened" to check into what my options were with my credit card company and should have done my homework before buying the doll. No contest on that. I need to clarify something though for the record... She was the one that decided to refund my money. I asked for a discount or a refund, and she opted for the latter. This was her choice. I had every intention of going through with the transaction if she was willing to work something out. I can see why she did what she did and why she needed to give me negative feedback, but the "Beware- Buyer's Remorse" title seems rather overdramatic considering I did not tie up the doll more than a few hours and I believe she needs to take some responsibility for the outcome of this transaction herself.
You will also notice that Julia did not post a copy of my last email to her here. It is because her description of it as "threatening" is an exaggeration. I was never rude or threatening in any way. To overexagerate her complaint about our transaction to this degree seems inappropriate and like abuse of power.
It just stuns me that people here try to resell used items and try to knowingly get more than what they paid for them above fair market value, but yet fail to take any responsiblity for trying to pull one over on someone when they are called on the carpet for it.
Just a question Julia, Have you taken your doll off the market now to give it a face-up? Just wondering. That should be an indicator right there that you also made a mistake in judgement when it came to pricing this doll.
Do I feel that justifies me giving her negative feedback and heading it up "Beware of Julia" Ripoff attempt? No. I know that would'nt be fair or accurate. Now that I have that off my chest, on to the good news! We got the beautiful plate we had shipped from Italy today! It is the most beautiful thing I have ever owned and means so much to us because we bought it from a wonderful artist in our favorite town in Italy. We hung it in our entry that opens to our dining room and it looks so perfect there! Just priceless!

| First off - YAY!!!! On setting the record straight!! I am so glad that you did that!! I HATED that she said your PM was "threatening" and yet didn't post it As I said before that leaves the "viewers" of the thread free to imagine all sorts of horrible things. That is why I called her a bitch. I think she wanted to make things MUCH worse for you than was called for. Yeah, you got angry that you got ripped and maybe you didn't give her enough time, but I totally understand how the adrenaline must have been pumping. These expensive doll purchases are a very big deal and emotional investments. I think your response was excellently written!! I hope you feel better and can move on. I know if you are like me it can take awhile to get over certain things. It is odd that she has taken the doll off the market. Second - YAY for getting your beautiful plate!! Take a pic of it over your doorway and show me!!! I am so happy that it arrived safely to your home and you have this gorgeous souvenir of your amazing trip It is extra special since you got to meet the artist! Third - Now you got me all wondering if I should have gotten the Hestia It is such a good price. I have never seen a Hestia that low. The shipping of course is high - $17, but $87 total is still really good and much less than a new NRFB Prunella. Decisions, Decisions | |

| That is a really tough decision. But, don't make the mistake I just made and jump on something just because it is a good deal. Get it because you love it and you will never regret the decision. You know you can't go wrong with the Jun Planning dolls, they are really nice-so whichever you choose I know you will be happy. The plate is in our foyer over an antique buffet. It is in between two sconces that are over the buffet and fits there like it was made for it! I will take a picture this weekend since it is too hard to describe how it is situated and how great it looks! - Quote :

Thanks! You are right about her being a high and mighty bitch in how she wrote the "Beware" shit and all that., She had a point, but also overreacted in her own emotional way and then tried to use her power in a way that would mark me as a loser that no one wanted to deal with because it did'nt go the way she planned. You know exactly how I felt when I realized she was charging me more than a new cost and with much less! I was livid! And very mad at myself for making such an unnessesary impulse purchase. I wanted to let her know I was serious about my concern. Even though she had good feedback and all, after trying to gouge me, needless to say that decreased my confidence about who I was dealing with and made me nervous about if she would even respond in a timely manner about it. But, anyway, I feel I have regained some of my power and dignity back by publically responding. She had a right to give me negative feedback, but not to make me out to be some kind of psycho criminal. I am glad that I made her experience what it feels like to have negative comments and criticism put out there in a public forum. It is not pleasant. Now there is no way she can escape taking some responsibility for the way the whole thing went down-the evidence is clear. We both made mistakes and overreacted when things did'nt go our way. As always, thanks for your support, shoulder, and for being such a great sounding board when I need good advice and someone to tell it like it is! *hugs*

| Aw thanks You've been a great support and shoulder for me too I am happy to be of any help! I'm glad that she posted all the emails because it showed that you were really polite about the whole thing. I wouldn't think anyone would be afraid to deal with you after reading all the emails. I know I wouldn't be. Yes, I am sure I would be happy with that Hestia. I have been happy with all my JP purchases. I can't wait to see the plate pix!! I will be out with my mom today. Eric is going to sit with my dad. Usually I just run her errands and do her shopping, but she really NEEDS to get out of the house for an afternoon. Eric doesn't go back to college until Jan. 28th so he is helping out this week and next. Today sitting with dad, Friday taking their SUV in for an oil change and tune-up and then bringing them back food from their fave neighborhood restaurant (that is right next to the dealership) and Monday he is going to take my mom to get her hearing aids cleaned and checked while I sit with my dad. It is good that this all happened when both the boys were older and driving and can be a big help. I hope you have a great day!! Talk to you later! | |

| Yes, the moderator came in and closed the thread, took off the "Beware" per my request, and marked the thread "Resolved". I am happy with that. I feel like that shows people that I am not a psycho they should never deal with, and we were able to come together and communicate openly, and agree on some things. She did wind up publically apologizing too which was a big achievement. Although, she did have to repeat herself again and try to drive the points she made home again as a defense to some of the criticisms I pointed out, but the mod closed it soon after that which was great. Her explanation of what became of the doll did not sound legit, I did'nt buy it for a minute-but, anyone with a brain that reads the thread can see she was making up a story to cover herself on that one. Overall, I am feeling much better about all of it, and can move on now. Live and learn. I wonder where people with Hestia's post their photoshoots? I know they are kind of rare, but I would also like to see some in different clothes and settings. Maybe on Flickr? It is so excellent that your boys can be so much help for your Mom, Dad, and for you during this. I hope you and your mom have a good day out! TTYL! | |

| I KNOW!! I am so excited too!!! I have no buyer's remorse about getting her instead of Prunella! Not that Prunella isn't really gorgeous, but seeing those pix you showed me of the other Heista (one I would love to find to go with the one I am getting and have a set) I knew she was the right choice! The stock is amazing and the eyes are just gorgeous!! I never would have got her now if it were not for the price. The seller who I got my nude Anisa from has two Heistas (both in black outfits nowhere near as cool) and with shipping they would be $130. I am so pleased to get her for only $87 total! So thanks for posting those pix for me to see and help make up my mind!! *smooches* Gotta run! I just got in and I have a few things to do yet before I can have some play time. I justed wanted to see if you saw that I bought her and what you thought! TTYL~ | |

| I agree! I do feel like I got a great deal! I just found her on ebay by another seller for $130 shipped! So a $43 difference! Sadly, that seller has the other one I want for $130 also But someday I am soooo going to get her! I want the pair of them. They are actually from Series 3 not two as that Flickr gal said. I found a site that you can look at all the different series of them. There are some really cool ones that I have never seen anywhere. I think I will like them even more than the J-Dolls! Hestia comes with long eyelashes!! Yes, I felt the same way about them. The few I would find on the net were too expensive. I truly just stumbled upon this Hestia yesterday while looking for something else. I guess it was meant They are 11.5 inches tall and from what little I can find out about them their bodies are Pulliplike. I really think this doll will stay in her stock. It is just too cool! That would be fun if you got one too! I have not told hubby yet that he and the boys bought my Mother's Day gift today I will wait until Rob gets over the shocking ER bill from when we tool Eric in so far we have to pay $550 of the $1200 Poor kid just had to get sick late on New Year's Eve instead of early on a normal day when he could have just gone to the Doctor's office. Just our luck right? Oh well, what can you do? The important thing is he is fine now. I was really bummed today when I went to Walmart. They had NO canning tools. I did get the canning funnel. They had the Ball Blue jars. Very plain. I didn't buy any today though. They will be fine for us, but I will want something nicer for gifts. I may have to get the tools from Amazon or hit the mall and see if one of the kitchen type shops have them. I did find the Sure Gel and pectin at our local grocery store. They had the paraffin also. Do you have to use the paraffin? Or can you just use the sterile lids? I am still waiting for my cookbook about canning. I am very happy that the feedback thread has been closed. You were so wise to post in your feelings. I really don't think anyone will let what they read stop them from selling to you. I hope you can go back to enjoying yourself there Here is a cool pic of some of the Hestias! Here is a site where you can see all of the series. Just click on "the series box" and see all the dolls from each series! http://www.junplanning.co.jp/english/item/hestia/hestia_index_e.html | |

| Yes, I think I will go back to enjoying myself over at DOA again. I don't think I will be doing more than lurking in the Marketplace though. two bad experiences out of 4 is not good odds considering the almost 80 mostly good ones on Ebay and I'm sure I had 20-30 or more total transactions on PS, Pullip Fiction, and Requiem that have all been good. The main forums and galleries are fun place just to lurk around since there is such tremendous variety of dolls over there. I find the crowd is a little more sophisticated than at PS, yes, and maybe a bit snobby about there 1,000 dolls, but there are a lot of folks like me too that are just getting started in the BJD hobby and are getting the cheaper, more readily available dolls. I don't envision myself ever becomming one of the in crowd or posting a ton over there, but it is a good doll resource.
I wonder if they are even still making Hestia's because it looks like they have'nt come out with any new dolls for a while. The 7th set ones have been out for months. I have to say my favorite Hestia's are the 3's and the 7th series. I think your girl is so special! Her face-up is gorgeous...And her eyes are too! I doubt I would take her out of her stock either! Just would take the hat thing off to display her beautiful hair every once and a while! I think that Sakyune must have changed out her doll's eyes because in the Hestia site her eyes are brown or maroon color! I will have to ask Sakyune about that! She seems very nice and excited to talk about her new Hestia! Yes, I think that you should definitely try to get the matched set! They pair really well together!
Don't worry about the canning stuff, I bet you will find a place that has all the stuff you need. Remember it is not the season for it right now. People usually can in the summer/fall so that is when all the supplies are ordered into the stores.

| Here is a pic of her whole stock! KILLER BOOTS!! My girl will have blue eyes for sure. Here is a pic of her in her box. I think they must have changed the other girl's eyes after the promo pix because they appear to be blue here and not the brown/burgundy color. I really NEED to get this girl and have my Service 3 set! But I am going to have to hope that she is around about a year from now since I now have B-day and Mom's day taken care of I may have to get a Sugar Daddy or work the street corners to afford my addiction!! ETA: OK, I have her perfect name! Her Hestia name is "Isora September". So taking the "I" and the "S" into consideration I have found this name "Isis = Supreme Goddess of the stars". I think it fits her! She looks like a supreme Goddess and I thank the stars I found her at a great price!! | |

They seem really cool. I just know that the ones from Service one seem to be the ones going for over $200. I guess like Pullips the old ones go for more as they are harder to find. She is coming from Canada so I don't think it will take as long as from Sinapore. I guess it depends on how fast the seller gets her shipped. With luck late next week maybe? It should be interesting to see what color she turns out to be because the differences in the photos we have seen are major! Even the hair color is significantly different! I love surprizes though. And both colors are nice. I think you are right about it taking about a week. Canada shipping usually does'nt take long...just think how quickly you got your mEda stuff compared to me!

| Yes, "Romance" is always good before breaking news of buying gifts 5 months ahead of time! But hubby loves a good deal and will probably be fine with it - except for doing one of these that my gift is another doll! Don't be jealous! You two went to Italy together for your birthday! It doesn't get much more romantic than that! (except maybe Paris ) I think the difference in the pix is because JP has a way of changing things between promo and release. I am crossing all fingers and toes that they do not change anything about ALa She is perfect just the way her promo pic is! Yes, it will be interesting to see her in person, but I am pretty certain I will be happy. I think most of the dolls are better in person than pix. Have a great day and talk to you later!! | |

This means I will continue to work on it. I have lots of ideas for it and I bought Mal those gold eyes and Val another wig! I saw a Monique gold Marianne style on a superdolfie size doll that is a victorian style guy and it was perfect! I will try to find the photo over at DOA and show you. I got him a black/brown color since the lighter tones in his sliver wig are black so to keep it consistent that he had dark hair before it went silver from his near death adventures and as a side effect of time travel.... Mal got his little outfit today! Can't wait to try it on him!

The other sites were she is sold out were selling her for more also. I will be so bummed if someone else buys her and I can't find her again for a reasonable price. If only I had a crystal ball! I've even been wondering if I should cancel my pre-order for ALa or just try to sell the diamond ring. Man, this doll addiction is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There should be a rehab we could go too!
