The baby blue and white fur outfit arrived today! It is just beautiful and wonderful quality! Anisa is so going to rock this outfit! I have never gotten a Barbie Fashion Boutique outfit before. I will keep my eyes open for more of those now. They seen to be a step up from the Closets and Fevers. Now if Anisa would just get here! Oh, and those stupid guitars that I am still doing battle over.

OK, not good news from the dentist. In fact it was my biggest fear. The tooth that has the abscess is one that has already had a root canal and is part of a bridge I just had done 3 years ago. I need to go to an Endodontic for surgery thru the gums over the bridge. I have an appointment this Monday for a consultation and then they will set-up the surgery Sad It's not so much the pain I am dreading as the expense No I am so blue right now over this. There is just always something that comes up unexpected that is lots of money. This time last year was $5000 for the new pumps and underground pipe for the flooding problem. Now this, then Xmas, followed by another $1600 for college to be paid. Oh well. What can you do. I called Rob and told him. He is not upset about the money. He says you got to do what you got to do when it comes to your teeth and health.

Still thinking about the wig though Razz

On no! I'm sorry to hear you will have to have endodontic surgery! Just like us, it seems the big unexpected outlay of cash at the worst time is just the pits! We can commiserate together!

Don't worry about the wig...you can always get one at a later time. They seem to be readily available in that style from JPOP.

Glad you like your new outfit for Anisa! She is going to be a style queen I just know it! When do you think you will get her?

I don't know when Anisa will get here No I wish she would come soon!! I am dying to see her and I could use some cheering up right now. When I called to make the appointment for the consultation the lady said "oh, you need "the surgery" with an "oh noz, you poor thing" sound in her voice. The thought of stitches in my gums freaks me out a wee bit. Sometimes I would rather have more babies than all the things I have had done with my teeth Crying or Very sad Root canals are bad enough, but this sounds quite unpleasant.

Well, here are a couple shots of the dolls on shelves in my office. Still no sunshine again today, and the next two days are suppose to be stormy with high winds. This should be interesting since we are having a new window installed in the family room tomorrow Shocked

Well, it is such a beautiful wig and that is such a good price. I really want something in that color too. Maybe I will have to let this one go for now. I know you will sell it super fast though. It is so pretty on Ali - I am really surprised you are parting with it.

Eeek! Your new shelves and display looks fabulous! All your dolls look so stylish! It does accentuate each doll to have them separated!

Yes, I am surprized myself I am selling the wig. It is beautiful, but Prudence needs some more stuff...and I have 3-4 really nice wigs in addition to that one...so it must go. Shocked I tried the black and red one I got for Caprice on Ali and OMFG she rocks it like you would'nt believe! I seriously need to get her a Halloween witch dress now to go with that wig!

WAAH! I cannot fix my doll's fuzzy hair. I wonder why that happened? I guess the heat from being in the attic. Crap.I want silky hair on them both again. I still want my bob Mackie Cher barbie for Christmas.

FC Sorry about your dentist woes. They are EXPENSIVE. And it seems like everything comes down all at once. But last year when I went to get my check up my dentist told me I had extreme gum detroriation. I was shocked . I am 42 UGH !and I have always had perfect straight teeth hardly no cavities. So I have not had much experience with the dentist save for cleaning. So I had to have gum graphs done last April . I am scheldued to go again Nov. 1. I so dread it. I got so sick from the pain medication and that was the start of months os stomach problems for me. So this I know better than to take Lortab.

ETA: Your dolls are so pretty!!

I must say this is very educational. I never knew you could sell just the wig, or that outfits did not just come with the doll (except for Barbies, of course.)

And Firecracker, you really do display them as I display my eggs - or at least, as I would if I did not have children poised to break them at any time. They are behind glass and kind of neglected; I won't part with them but I don't have time to spend on them.

Thanks! I figure after Xmas, when the new boys are out and about, I will put one boy and two girls on each shelf and then 3 boys and 3 girls on the table. You should be able to see each one nicely that way. Anisa will need a special spot until I get Maggie and put the two of them where my Tassel dolls are. It is going to be weird having one J-Doll all on her lonesome for so long. Magnificent Mile won't even come out until the end of Feb. It kind of sucks that if you pre-order her now you have to pay in full even though you won't get her until the first week of March. The only reason I would like to pre-order her is that the last one to come out (the girl in the awesome black and white stock) sold out fast and they still don't have her anywhere that sells J-Dolls. From what I have read J-Doll lovers are really gaga over MM. I would sure hate to miss out on her since she will be my Chicago Girl!

I understand about the wig. Prudence does need lots of cool stuff! I am not surprised that Ali rocks that wig (Gaby did too) because I swear Neros look awesome in every color wig! They are just soooo very pretty!

Oh Aerwin, so sad to hear of your gum woes Sad I take care of my teeth too. I just seem to have a problem with my nerves dying. I have no idea why No It's happened in several teeth. I have had about 12 root canals - I kid you not! Hopefully what I am having done will not be as bad as what you have had to go thru! I so hope it goes better for you this time I love you

So sorry about your doll's hair. You know, you can get size four wigs for them. I will bring you a link. They are only about $15.

Abrahammy, you can buy Pullips in their wigs and stock clothes, but you can remove their wigs and buy them new ones to give them different looks. I have bought more of them nude to save money. I even got one nude and bald and then bought a wig. So you have options. If you like a doll's stock but don't want the doll, you can find sites that sell just the outfits. There are sites that sell the dolls and outfits separately. The good thing is they can wear Barbie clothes, so I buy them nude and find Barbie clothes that I like - which are way cheaper.

Well, lots of little kids come to my house, but they know my dolls are for looking at and not touching. I do have a really cute singing bear (that I got at Bronners) that they know they can play with it and make her sing. So they hold her while looking at the dolls. At least the two youngest ones do.

ETA: Here is the link to a site that sells size 4 wigs. They will fit my J-Doll which I think have the same size head as Barbie.

Hi Aerwin. Yes, 12 Sad I am more afraid of this gum cutting procedure that is for sure affraid

You will have to remove the old wig. I have never removed a Barbie wig. The Pullips wigs are just glued on. If your dolls are rooted you will have to just cut it all off as best you can. I did manage to get wigs over two of my doll's stock wigs, but only because their stock was short/and or thin.

Good luck! I noticed there were a few really perfect wigs there for a Cher doll! Which one do you have in mind? The long straight black one parted down the middle?

EEEEEKKKK!! She's here!! She's here! Anisa is here!! She is soooo pretty!

She does have the exact body as a Pullip. She is nice and sturdy though. Maybe because of the smaller head. Here face is gorgeous! Her hair is very silky and perfect!! I just put her in the blue Barbie outfit. The tights are a tiny bit big, but she looks great! Here stand is nice. It hardly shows while holding her up.

I will definitely get more J-Dolls. I know of at least 3 more I want. Of course she is not as interesting or unusual as the big headed dolls, but she is very lovely and I do like her even more than the new Silktone Barbies (even though they are also really great)

I will take pix as soon as I can.

She is GORGEOUS indeed! And that outfit you picked for her is perfect!
Her hair is to die for! And her face is so pretty!

What do you think of her eyes? They look like BJD eyes! In fact, her face-up kind of has that BJD feel too.

I know you are in trouble when you start talking about getting others the first day a new one arrives! Too funny, but so precious, and I totally understand! I knew immediately I am in deep do-do when Prudence arrvied!

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you like her!! I sent pix to Dymphna and she really liked her and had lots of questions about J-Dolls. I don't think she would ever get one. She likes the big headed dolls so much and she doesn't really like the dolls that look like real people. J-Dolls look very real. In fact I think Anisa looks like Suri Cruise!! Shocked Surprised

Her eyes are just beautiful and I love them! That is one reason I want more. I want to have one with dark eyes and some other colors. Yes, I do think her face up is BJD like, but her head is no doubt smaller since J-Doll wear size 4 wigs and BJDs start at 6/7 right? So, it would be nice if her head were a wee bit bigger, since I am so used to that, and her eyes would be a little bigger too. But I love her very much as she is.

See, this is my problem. I can never stop at one when I like so many, I need so many. If I got a $300 female BJD, I would HAVE to get a boy. So your looking at $600 for two dolls. Even though they may be worth it, that is just so much for two dolls. I know myself well enough to know I would never be able to stop at one BJD. AND I would want wigs and lots of clothes for them. BECAUSE I am sick in the head!! Razz geek

They are similar though. The first girl has shorter bangs and much lighter lips. She is gorgeous and I WANT her stock big time!

Here is a good site to see some of the girls!
http://www.junplanning.co.jp/english/item/jdoll/jdoll_index_e.htm

I want this girl big time and there is nowhere I can get her here in the U.S. This site has her for $90 but won't ship outside of Japan. She is not at Valley of The Dolls or on ebay. I check constantly for her!

Dolls - Page 4 Charing

Dolls - Page 4 Charingcrossroadj-doll

A seller in NYC is taking pre-orders for Magnificent Mile at $135 Shocked I hope that doesn't mean that her price will go up that much at VOTD. I really think I may have to pre-order her soon. She is at $78 right now.

You are right. The collecting is a rush! BUT, it is also because I just love so many of them! If I go to Luts sites and see those $600 to $800 dolls I love them all and I could never decide on just one. I go nuts trying to pick a fave No

Ok, now I see the difference between the two. They re similar though with their dark hair and blue eyes. I love both of their stock outfits. I would wear either of them!

The one that is your grail was one of the first J-doll's issued. I like her too, she is very unique. Her stock and more subtle face-up with the earth tones makes her look really different- which is nice. I am surprized she is not sold out yet. Although she may be on her way to being sold out if they are so hard to come by!

I do love my Prudence as much as you love Anisa! It is exciting to fall in love with a new and different type of doll isn't it?

Yes, it is exciting! I don't know that I will love the J-Dolls more than the Pullips/Taeyangs, but about as much!

I think she is very close to being sold out because she is only for sale at JP's site I posted the link for above and nowhere else.

I love you new Prudence avi!

Yeah, Abrahammy and I are celebrating Clay's Broadway Debut as Sir Robin in Spamalot!!

I am bummed right now. I had put bids on a couple of really nice Barbie Fashion Avenue outfits (you know, the type of Barbie clothes that are better than at the store) and I was the only bidder and the price was low. I got up this morning and most of them have had a bunch of bids overnight and are now more than I care to spend Mad Crap. I got the other Fashion Avenue outfit from ebay (the red, black and white one for Nat) and it is corduroy, even the purse, and god the quality is soooo nice! So I understand why so many people are bidding on them. I guess I should be glad I got the blue one for Anisa and this one for Nat, but I sure would love to have a few more of them. They all seem to be from the mid 90s so no way to find them in the stores. They come in a very different and nice box. I wish they would make a new series like this and put them in the stores.

We have had gloomy rainy days all week. It is awful today. Very rainy and WINDY!! 40 MPH. Last Friday was 70, sunny, perfect and mom and I had a great day out shopping and lunching. What a difference a week makes. Last Friday was a fun day and I had Saturday to look forward to checking out cars and maybe getting a new one soon. Now all I am thinking about is this stupid gum surgery. I read all about it on the internet last night and I read people's experiences and now I am really scared. Seems it is quite uncomfortable even though you are numbed, can take 90 mins. and you are in discomfort for many days afterward Crying or Very sad Some said they couldn't talk or eat for about 4 days Shocked The not eating is good, but not talking affraid Anyway, I sure wish I could go back to last Friday.

Yes, the gum surgery is not going to be pleasant. But it heals up pretty fast so at least you will probably bounce back pretty fast. Shocked

That is too bad about those Fashion Avenue outfits going for too much. They are really nice though. I got one for Tom and the quality was really good. in fact, you have it now! I kept the shoes though. Wink

I sold the beautiful Layla wig to a gal from Spain. It is beautiful, but at least I did'nt lose money on it at the price I paid which is good. Well, some shopping is in order now!

I think I found my Grail J-Doll at a site overseas. They are asking $90 and I don't know how much for shipping. I was afraid to find out!! I don't know what to do!! I want to grab her because she is so hard to find, but if I make her my B-day present I may miss out on Magnificent Mile. What to do???

ETA:

It is done!!! affraid Shipping was only $10! I bought her. I guess I will make Landon a birthday present. I had to have her. After seeing Anisa in person I just knew I had to have this girl! She will now be an Xmas present! I am not waiting until April for her to be out!

Now if you excuse me, I am leaving to have my head examined Rolling Eyes

and throw-up Embarassed

Oh, and congrats on selling the wig! The buyer will be thrilled with it!! I am now completely done with doll stuff for a long time. I don't even want to see the eye rolling from my dad and mother-in-law when they see nothing but dolls for me at Xmas time. At least my mom gets it. My kids figured out I was nuts a long time ago and hubby doesn't care what I get with my Xmas money, and last year I used most of it for things for the house and redoing the powder room, so hey - this is my year to be completely impractical!

Congrats on getting your grail for a decent price! You will be one happy laydee this Christmas! That I know for sure!

I keep saying I am done with doll stuff too, and it never seems to last too long! At least in Italy I won't be able to buy doll stuff! Although knowing me I will find stuff over there too! jocolor

It's some kind of crisis Shocked

Thanks, I am happy but also having a bit of a WTF did I just do moment. I mean other than my Haute this is the most expensive doll I've gotten since I mostly got nudes and used. So it's not buyers remorse since I really want her, but just a bit of "god that is so much for one little doll" panic. Hence the "throwing-up" reference pale

I think I deserved to get her today to make up for the call I just got about the car we want to buy. We just couldn't work out a deal to Hubby's satisfaction so hubby said we are done with that guy. Back to trying to figure out what to do or who else to wheel and deal with. Rob and the guy were about $150 a month off on payments and neither would back down. Of course Rob had ME do the pleasure of calling the guy and saying we won't meet with him tomorrow. Hubby always makes me make the yucky calls Mad So now hubby thinks we will wait until spring and keep it for the holidays. I guess that is fine. It's just the getting all excited about a gorgeous new vechicle and now having to wait another 6 months Crying or Very sad Well, at least I won't have to worry about keeping it all nice and clean during the snowy months!! Laughing
