Former Reality Show Contestants

Chris Daughtry's music was tailor-made for the radio. That was why Clive Davis and 19M pretty much let him have carte blanche as far as his CD went. I don't think it was a matter of him being any smarter or humbler than others before him - he just happened to do music that Clive thought could work on radio. If Clive is treating him better than Clay or Kelly or whoever else, that's the reason why. He's bringing in the big bucks for the company.

I understand they had a nice crowd for Constantine in Green Bay and that he looked good and was funny.

Oh some news about Ruben. Maybe this is old news but I understand that Frenchie will be co-starring with him on the "Ain't Misbehavin'" tour. That should be a lot of fun and a lot of great music.

Oh, Chris is pretty damned egotistical too. He has a saner relationship with his fans, a more consistent vocal tone, and a clearer musical direction, but yeah, his head's is roughly the size of Mars' orbit, and all of the salivating over him at Taylor's expense did not help. I don't begrudge him his success, but he's not going to take the crown of Most Humble AI Superstar away from Bucky anytime soon. Remember what is on his shoulder blades.

Well, I don't know. Some of them still don't accept that it's not going to be realized, and I think some are where I am - OK, no stardom, but a concert in my area is still a good time... It depends on whether the motivation is to have fun or to be vindicated.

I was long gone by the time Pen was treated badly by Constantine...so i don't know the story. What did he say and do to her?

I couldn't agree more Abrahammy about Chris's ego His comments after his early boot and that freaking enormous Daughtry tattoo across his shoulders I don't begrudge his talent and Badger is right, his music is tailor made for the radio and yes that is why Clive LOVES him - money, money, money. Still, others with the same kind of "pay for play" to radio and same kind of dollars for promotion and videos could also have done well. The music biz is just not a fair game.

Frazz, I honestly do not remember exactly what was said to PenB by Con. It was a long time ago - before I even left, which was well over a year ago. I just know that after all she had done to support and promote him he got pissed about something and said some nasty things to her. She got upset and left GS for awhile. But she and Carpe moved to NYC (I think that was before Pen and Con had words) and seemed to stay pretty supportive of Con despite the falling out. I assume they still live in NYC but since I don't read GS I don't know for sure.

PenB and Carpe live in NYC. They were wonderful hosts to me during Brel. Pen is still the administrator of the board. She never really left, because she was always tech support, but she did not post for awhile. Last time I spoke to her she had found the same place I have - like the music, recognize the personal flaws.

I think the world of both Pen and Carpe.

Con's Bingo night was posted on ONTD for all to make fun off. That is what they do at ONTD. I watched a 10 min. Q&A with him. He was kinda funny, rather cocky of course. It was about as sad to see as the singing in the coat racks of Steinmart. Oh well, hopefully he was paid well and got to enjoy Green Bay.

What in the bloody heck is ONTD? Am I really missing out on something here?

Well, I guess y'all have humbled me. I forgot how eye-rolling Chris' comments were after his toss and I didn't know about the tattoo across his back. I guess you do need a little hubris in this business. His is just better-directed than going to your own message board and calling out fans individually for daring to say he my not be the Second Coming.

I don't mind PenB. I think she got caught up like we all did. She was sometimes annoying, but I never found her incredibly offensive. I was proud of her for leaving with her head held high. Kinda sad she went back. I know. That's my problem, not hers.

I'm sorry Abrahammy, but Carpe, on the other-hand, I blame for the current atmosphere at GS. I think she was the leader of the "don't say anything bad about the great and powerful GB" brigade. The blue ink flowed freely with her. I feel she got drunk with power. Again, my opinion.

Abrahammy, you know I love you, and I know you've explained it, but I don't think I will ever be able to wrap my head around still being able to appreciate an entertainer who attacked me on a personal level for merely telling the truth. Yes, I do place some of the blame on his fans who encourage this behavior by smacking down anyone who doesn't praise him, but he encourages it. Like I said, I am able to separate the bad behavior of an actor or singer from his/or her talent, but not if it's gotten as personal as it has. I've said it before. You're a bigger person than I am.

I know some people over in the land of blue ink don't believe his ship sailed a long time ago. It's the same people who thought every other person on every past, present and future AI had to put out an album before he was legally allowed to do so. The same people who thought the movie was still going to happen. The same people who opened a spiritual thread and compared him to a bird and how connected he was to them and the universe. They're still back there, making excuses. Those are the saddest people.

I never felt entirely comfortable with the blue ink, pink ink, or purple ink mentality. Something about the "drunk with power" admins, group think mentality, and mean spirted smackdowns, power play manipulations, and popularity contests just got harder and harder to stomach at each forum.
To me some of the admins and power players at these forums are at the same level as C~. Childish, insecure, selfish, and cruel.

I don't know any of these people personally like you do Abrahammy, so I mean no offense. I just know how I saw people treated at these places as an unbiased bystander initially at GS and BB, then of course became an indoctrinated follower at the purple and pink. Although, never fit in at the pink very well (man what a clique!)-so did'nt hang there for long. And was never really an insider at the purple...just got "mod" status because I threatened to leave after it was promised and then never followed through with. That was really the beginning of the end for me. There were just some fun people there that I care about that kept me on the "are you in or out" roller coaster for as long as I was.

Carpe invited me into her home even after months away from GS and has been one of a handful of admins who have been carefully making sure I retain freedom of speech at GS. There are members who would attack me every time I open my mouth, but they are held at bay. This has strongly influenced my attitude.

He's a big baby. We have reached at the very least, a truce and an understanding. (I find it very odd to discuss my real-life relationship/conflict with Constantine. Why the hell am I even on his radar? He's supposed to be that TeeVee guy, not somebody I had an argument with!)

Oh goodness! I was just in the AI threads at The Clack House. I saw where one of Con's biggest fans there is all upset because TMZ swiped the fan vid of Con's Q&A and it is being made fun of. I have to admit when I watched it I missed where when he was asked if he plays an instruments he mentioned "the skin flute" Oh my goodness! I cannot believe he said that and in front of that type of group. He really has no self control does he Anyway, the comments at the TMZ site are really something and I see that "the haters" still come out and play everywhere he is mentioned. The boy really does need to think before he speaks.

I KNOW!! (tmMonica Geller) Some of the Q&A is pretty funny, like when a lady walks by with a tray of Tater Tots and he is all "She's got Tots!" I laughed out loud at that one. Maybe it was a Napoleon Dynamite reference. Anyway, when asked about playing musical instruments he said a trumpet, a little bit of drums, something else and than says "Skin Flute! Does that count?" It is a pretty sad vid because while he is answering questions people are walking in front of him getting trays of food. I cannot even imagine how he feels doing gigs like this after AI and Broadway

Lord I watched that vid and read some of the comments. IMO the delusional ones and haters are both crazy. Why Bother? I cannot stand him and don't see how anyone supports him but it is their business. I left GS because it totally ceased to be fun . It was at first ! And I am glad I joined there because I made internet friends with ppl I would never know otherwise. There are a few I miss. But the ones that are beyond delusional , no thanks!
