You guys must have heard the story of me going to the finale, crashing into a wall, stuffing my airbag back into the wheel and continuing on, looking through the cracked windshield. Yes, I was that insane. To be fair, I'm like that anyway. I usually try not to let anything get in the way of my good time. Oh, my car was totaled.

I actually got to tell #6 that story and was thrilled when he squeezed my hand and did the pursed-lips thing. I was a stupid twit.

I loved what Jacob wrote about C after he was voted off. It was really a wonderful post.

I have NEVER heard that story Greeneyez (and I thought I had heard ALL stories). Wow. My brother was at the finale too. It had already started, they went up to the ticket booth and they still had tix!

I didn't hear the story either. So sorry about the accident/car. Glad you were OK.

I'm going to put this here since I assume most of you will be in this thread today. I will be leaving soon to take my dad to his regular hospital instead of the hospital we were going to go to for that test on his leg and discuss the amputation. He is far to sick and weak to go anywhere. My mom is packing his bag and I am going to pick them up and take them into the ER to see what can be done for him. I have no idea when I will be back. I hope tonight with some positive news. If you don't see me here say a little prayer or whatever you all do to send good vibes.

I hope you all have a beautiful day!

I never heard that story either, GE. I cannot believe I ever gave two figs about that fuckwitt. UGH. I didn't see him tonight and I'm glad.
Listen the only three I like this year are Melinda, Blake and Jordin. The rest can go home. I started out really liking Lakisha but I'm not sure what happened to her. she's a good singer but her personality is not coming through or something. Sanjaya is baaaaaaaaaaaaad. But I bet he won't go home.

FC I am thinking of you and your Dad today. I am so hoping he will turn the corner.

Oh , Oh I meant to say that since GB was in the audience I am sure that means he will go on the show and sing his whole cd and it will win a grammy it will be so great!

Aerwin, at one time I had the alternate-reality rules for the die-hard-delusional GB fans...

I hope I can find them, but one of them was DEFINITELY that he couldn't put out an album until all the other idols from all other seasons had put out an album. They would, like, curse Kellie or Chris because they put out an album and that it pushed back his. I still crack up.

Oh, and I'm sure there are a few who still think his "movie" is coming out. Rolling Eyes

Hi ladies ! Just checking in on a break from the hospital. I came home to cook dinner and I will be leaving in about an hour to go back. When I got to my folks house may dad was really bad. Couldn't walk, we could hardly get him to the car. Not really able to speak. Shaking. Not good. My folks are only 15 mins to a really good hospital. Del Nor. Last year it was rated #5 in the country. It is our hospital too, put takes us a little longer to get there. I live 15 mins. from my folks. Anyway, all we know right now is that he has a very bad infection going thru his system. They pumped in the strongest anti-biotic. I never even heard of it before. He is completely out of it - sleeping. They were moving him to a regular room and said he would be out for awhile, so I came home to cook dinner and freshen up a little and grab a bite. I am hopfully that since he is not in intensive care right now that that is a good sign. The bad thing is they removed all the wrapping from his toes (the ones they think he will lose) and I am telling you all but his baby toe looks like they went thru a meat grinder. All broken open, bloody and deformed looking. I am now convienced that the toes will go and maybe the foot. I don't know yet if the infection is from the toes or something different. I hope to know more when I return from tonight's visit. I do know he will be in the hospital for awhile - that they did tell us. I know losing the foot, or even just the toes, will be rough, but I will be relieved if they can clear the infection and he gets more back to himself. Trust me, when I got him into the ER he really looked like this was the beginning of the end. I am staying positive for now. Hubby says "regular room = good sign". I am hanging onto that thought right now.

As for AI, can you believe all the stink about Simon and rolling his eyes?! I wonder who goes tonight? I hope we can catch it on the TV in dad's room. As always, thanks for your good thoughts and ears and shoulders! Love ya~

(Sky, my dad is a diabetic and hurt his toes a several months ago. They cannot get them to heal because he has very poor circulation in that leg. He also has the diabetic ulcers on his feet. The wound center has been doing everything they can, but nothing will heal which is why he may be losing the toes)

I have a feeling Sanjaya will be going home tonight.

I kind of thought as much from what you have posted, but wasn't sure. My older sis is diabetic too with very poor circulation in her legs, with one of them having had vein replacements so many times they can't do anything else with them. She has come close a couple of times of losing toes....so far so good. I hope your Father does well and I will be saying more prayers for him!

I'm sorry you and your family are going thru this F/C. Still hoping for the best.

My mom is fairly healthy (knock wood). She has fibromyalgia, like I do, but hers affects her much more than mine does me. She doesn't really stay active enough and she says it's because she's in pain, but a lot of the pain is because she isn't active. So it's difficult.

Sky, it's funny. In the book "The Secret" they talk about how the unpopular candidate usually winds up winning because so many people are throwing energy their way (even negative energy).

Explains Sanjaya and our current Stupid in Chief.

Your Dad and your family is in my thoughts tonight FC. I hope they take good care of him, no wonder the poor man was so depressed! He had a raging infection running through his body! I know he has several other reasons too, but after they get that straightened out maybe he will perk up a little.

*Keeping my fingers crossed Sanjaya goes home tonight along with you all* It is getting too painful to watch him anymore. I don't know if I will watch tonight. He is just a 17 year old kid afterall.

YAY! I guess I was right! Was very worried with Blake in the B-3, but knew he'd be the first going back to the couch.

If he was sacrificed, I would have been at the studios tomorrow!

Very happy about Blake, but damn - the kid made me cry. I really thought he would be more prepared to go. I'm sure he is a sweetie. Just one that can't sing that well.

Spent 3 hours with my dad. He ate a lot of his dinner and was speaking much better and staying awake. Friends/neighbors came to visit so mom and I left. His primary doc is suppose to see him some time tonight. I was upset that they did not have his open wounds wrapped and I made the nurse wrap his foot, at least until a doctor saw him. They are still pumping meds into his veins.

I'm sad to see that many of you have family members also dealing with health issues. My best wishes and prayers go out to them and you!

FC, I am so sorry about your dad. You know I deal with health issues with my mom on a daily basis and they are severe , so I know how you feel. I will be praying for you.

Sanjaya made me cry too! Like what??? I felt sorry for him crying. I know all the harsh criticisim (sp???) has been so hard for him. He is a baby. It was a good thing for him to go. I was so glad Blake was safe. Now Jordin and Melinda are the only 2 that haven't been in the B3?

I love the acoustic version of Home. I wish they played the whole song! It is soooooooo good.

FC, that's great about your dad. I'm sure he'll be fine and sounds like he's getting really good care!

There have been many winners who wound up in the bottom 3. I know at least Fantasia and Ruben did.

You know, it's weird. I'm thinking back on all the seasons and about who I wanted to win and who actually won.

I only watched one show of the first season and knew Kelly would win. Tamayra was still there, but I looked at Kelly and instantly knew it was her. I think Tamayra is really boring.

After that...hmmm..

Wanted Clay to win...Ruben won.

Didn't care about the next season. Didn't mind that Fantasia won at the time, but Simon making such a big deal about her when she goes into hystrionics in EVERY SINGLE SONG. They're not ALL gospel! Plus, can she stand up straight through an entire song? I would have thought the image-makers would have cured her of that nonsense.

Wanted Bo to win...Carriebot won. (It was the finale I was at. I sat with my arms crossed...so did a few other people sitting near me). Sorry for the Carrie-lovers. I actually liked her at the beginning of the season and then she slowly made me not like her. I thought at first it was because of "C" but no...I still don't like her.

I wanted Chris to win but Taylor won. I wasn't too upset about Taylor winning, and figured he would...but we all see where that went.

This year it had BETTER be between Jordin and Blake. If Melinda makes it, I won't mind because she's talented, but I fear she'll have the Ruben career.

So, let's see AI and Simon...you're 2 for 4 (it's only been 4 seasons, with this being the 5th, right?) in the successful career of the actual "winner". So for all of Simon's protestations that the winner is the one with all the spoils...I'd have to disagree.

Yeah, well........tonight Sanjaya's journey on Idol ends!!!!!!!! WOOHOO! Finally..............

Hey....I think people forgot to vote for Blake because they take for granted how good he is and that he'd be safe...........don't do that! That, or the Idol gods put him in there to mess with people's minds!!!!!!

I am just not excited about any of this year's contestants.

Up until tonight, I was actually rooting for Sanjaya as well, but I'm beginning to get a soft spot for Blake and while Lakiki didn't have her best night, she definitely deserved to stay there longer than he does. That being said, if she had gone, I wouldn't have been hugely upset. I do, however, think other people would have stormed the AI offices demanding a recount.

Oh, and Sky. I think it is ironic that people had stopped all the vitriol and the phrase I heard most often about him was "he's not going anywhere" and that's when it ended!

Sanjaya to attend Correspondents' dinner

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Move over Petra. Step aside Jane Fonda. Make room, Morgan Fairchild. Although all of the major news organizations have spent weeks bragging about their big name celebrity guests, People magazine has pulled a great coup by grabbing someone who's sure to turn more heads than anyone else this weekend: Sanjaya Malakar, the "American Idol" contestant whose hilarious run on the reality show finally came to an end this week.

People magazine has secured the hair-challenged 17-year-old to be their guest during the White House Correspondents' Association dinner (but he won't be at the magazine's party tonight at IndeBleu).

Sanjaya earned his 15 minutes of fame by managing to go far on the tough "Idol" show despite an obvious lack of talent (he was bolstered by campaigns led by radio shock jock Howard Stern and such Web sites as www.votefortheworst.com.

In recent years, People magazine has managed to secure the most recently voted off American Idol contestant for the big WHCA weekend. Last year, that was Ace Young and in 2005, People hosted Constantine Maroulis.

And say what you want about WHCA dinner headliner Rich Little: We'd give anything to see him do an impersonation of Sanjaya...

What, you didn't see his mannerisms during British Invasion night?

Unpopular opinion: Constantine sings better than Sanjaya does. By a substantial margin.

Maybe less unpopular opinion: Sanjaya seems to be a nicer person than Constantine is. By an equally substantial margin.
