| I agree, there is some great talent. I have an eye out for a couple of them at least. I did read a site where someone posted that he knows who the finalists are already. My favorites are there. | |

| I think she is talking about Ricky. I put the link in my post - 4 above this one. Follow the link and there are names of pix of the "rumored" top 24. All my faves are there except one I am seriously gonna cry if I have to see him sit in the chair and be told to go back to living in his car. I mean I really will cry. He makes me think a lot of my Eric, who is just a year older at 19 with the same blond hair and love for playing his music. When I think of that kid driving around living in his car my heart just breaks. He wants this chance in the worst way. I fear what will happen to him if he doesn't make it. | |

| Another site with a spoiler link to the "rumored" top 24. It also does not include my little guy I guess we will know for sure tonight. If this is the top 24 then I anticipate one hell of a good season! I am really excited! http://mjsbigblog.com/historical-charts/list-of-the-rumored-top-24/ | |

| Firecracker, he's not on this list either. I really like him too and will be upset if he didn't make it........
Anyway here is a link, just go to the 'blog' section listed on the top bar and find Joe's Blog.

| Well Sky, I re-watched my tape from last night (I taped it so I could re-watch certain people) and I think the problem is he is very much like "a Billy Joel". I think he does "need his keys" as he said. I think if he didn't make it (and I'm thinking the spoilers are probably right) that the issue with the judges was just that. He needs his keys, he very much wants things the way he hears them in his head. He is more musician than singer to me. I think all the judges appreciate his talent, but may feel "this" competition just isn't right for him. He would have to do things like "Disco Night" and sing one of those god awful coronation songs. I know he wants to make it in the music world - but AI may not be the best showcase for his type of talent. I am hoping that at least he was seen by the right people and someone will take a chance on him. I don't know if a "piano man" can make it in the music market right now. I love Ben Jalen and when he first came out there was so much talk about him being huge - and it just never happened I honestly can't predict anymore who is going to make it big. I just don't know how I am going to watch him walk away from that chair tonight with his dreams shattered. | |

| Oh no!! So you missed his breakdown at the end! Well, he had a hard time working with the band on "Stand By Me". He was crying and stayed up to 3:30 AM trying to figure out how he wanted to do it. So, when he came on stage for that final performance he told the band to leave the stage. He sang acapella. Sadly, it was not good. The judges not only didn't care for the performance, but Simon really didn't like his attitude. They put him thru to top 50 because of previous performances that they loved. If they didn't go with him, I think that his not wanting to work with the band went into that decision. The comments to him were rough. He really fell apart when he left the room. He knew his decision backfired on him. I felt so bad for him. I think he is a really sweet kid who made a poor decision. Simon thought he came across arrogant with that decision. I think that really hurt his feelings. | |

| I did see that on a video clip online. I am so mad I didn't get to see the last hour. I'm liking Robby Carrico and the guy that had a mohawk/spikey hair in the middle on his audition...I think it was David somebody (Cook? maybe).........His band and him are quite good. | |

| Well, as always that whole hour made me cry I cry happy tears for those that make it, and sad tears for those who don't make it. That poor kid. I wish I could just hug him. There were a couple who made it to top 24 that didn't get any airtime. I hope they are not cannon fodder who made it through instead for the purpose of good TeeVee! We all know they do that. Chicken Little anyone? Sanjaya? Well, he was good TV. | |

| Yes, Robbie is a cutie! I sure wish Josiah made it too (yes, that is his name) So does my mom. We talked after the show and she said "I feel so bad that kid didn't make it. It was so good too." Like me, she is also worried about him living in his car. | |

| I wondered if Josiah needs another year of maturity under his belt and that's why he wasn't selected. He definitely had an interesting story and we know how AI loves to get candidates with those big background stories.
I think its possible we will either see Josiah get signed to a label in the next few weeks or show up on AI again new year. Just possibilities.
That's very cool about Robbie and Brittany having gone out. He's a hottie alright. | |

| I agree Lau. I wonder if they felt the stress of the competition would be too much for him. Clearly he is not the only guy who cries about not making it, we have seen that many times. But maybe seeing how he dealt with the stress over song selection and working with the band worried them that he would not deal well with all that was facing him. Lau, I so hope you are right and that someone signs him. That would make me so happy! | |

| Josiah - well, he really wasn't good enough for the top 24 and he'd have been in tears in a week anyway. Now we don't have to watch him mope anymore. I am more inclined to disagree with the last decision among the guys; I thought Colton's voice was whispy and too precious, and I liked Kyle's firm, classic delivery much better.
Michael Johns - handsome guy who actually looks like a man and sings pretty well. Just proved that it is possible for more than one person to sing Bohemian Rhapsody well on AI (although I will still give Con props for breaking that barrier first.) I'm going to have to watch that I do not get invested in yet another male contestant.
Carly is a ringer, and there's a couple of reasons why she probably should not be there: she's been a professional musician with a real, major recording contract, and she's... Irish. (I dunno, I sorta think the American Idol should be an American.) Putting that aside - girl's got SOME PIPES. She's going to be around in, like, April, at least. Or May. Really late May. Maybe I should root for her - makes it easy to avoid obsession. Also, since I'm pretty sure she's TCO, I can fall in line and not be disappointed.
