| Well, if by "new constantine" they mean a guy who's:
handsome Not sleazy Not an ass Not a womanizing pig Still has his looks Doesn't have the reputation of being a no-talent tool When he smiles you don't get the "dirty old man" vibe even though he isn't that old Doesn't make me want to throw a rock through my TV every time he's on.
Then, yes, he's the new constantine. We can rebuild him. We can make him beautiful with actual charisma that doesn't include eyefucking.

| Unfortunately, Ace still can't sing, and his not-being-able-to-singness was less funny (and ultimately less deliberate) than Sanjy's. - Quote :

I maintain that Ace's biggest virtue has been in not being aggressively tactless to his fanbase. On to a different ex-Idol. Bo Bice is coming to House of Blues in Dallas next week and... I just realized how annoying it can be to be an old married lady. I don't have a Bo Bice online community to tap into for companionship at this thing like I always had for Clay and that Greek guy nobody else likes anymore. Maybe I'm too old for this stuff.

| Well Ace's voice is a matter of taste. I have heard many songs/performances from before AI and after. Clearly nerves hurt him on the show because he can sing - and quite well - as evidenced during the tour and other TV appearances. He may not be to your liking of course, but than Sanjaya's voice is not to mine. Ace also had a few really good performances on the show, even the judges thought so, Sanjaya - can't think of one. Not vocally anyway. Don't remember any of the judges giving him high praise for vocals. So to each their own opinion.
As far as no one liking GB anymore? That's his fault.
Sorry you don't have anyone to go see Bo with. I heard he was sick again and had to cancel some shows. Poor guy. Sure has had a lot of bad luck. I hope things turn around for him. He seems like a good guy.
You are nowhere near to old for this stuff. You're just a baby compared to me!!
ETA: I see you asked about meeting up with ladies from The Clack House for Clay's Frisco show!! That's great! I know there will be CHers there. Is it a far drive for you?
AETA: I just wanted to add this about people having different tastes. I know Robin Thicke is really hot right now. He sings almost all in falsetto. I watched him on Oprah the other day, the second time she had him on in a couple months. She is INSANE for him and called him her new favorite singer. I could not stand him. I actually could hardly get through the whole song. To me he cannot sing at all, yet to Oprah he is the best thing around. Go figure.

| I haven't heard enough of Robin (son of Alan) Thicke to formulate an opinion on him. I do know there are singers who are quite popular who make me scream. Sometimes they have a good voice, but they are obnoxious and don't know how to be subtle: Mariah Carey or just plain are never subtle and suck all the soul out of a song: Celine Dion. These are very popular multi-platinum singers who could retire today and live in the lap of luxury.
I do think Ace had some good performances and I did see him on tour and he can sing. Absolutely. His reputation is stellar. He's able to make fun of himself (another quality a certain someone will NEVER EVER have!!!) I really hope he makes it.
I never thought Sanjaya had a good voice and I don't think Abrahammy does either. I think we're both under the impression (and please, let me know if I'm not speaking for you Abrahammy) that he needs some serious vocal training, but he has the goods in all the other areas and appeals to 14-year-old girls who will go to his concerts and squeal and love him. Britney cannot sing a note, but that hasn't stopped her from having a huge career. Ditto J-Lo and a host of other young "singers" who dance their way through their videos in the hope that you won't notice they all sound alike because they're all using the same machine to make them sound decent. If the right person gets a hold of Sanjaya, and he plays this smart, he can have a career.

| You know, I can't look at him for more than 10 seconds at a time or I might turn to stone. I figured out that he's playing a character with the same first name, different last name.
It reminded me of when Tony Danza went for his part in Taxi. Apparently the character name wasn't originally Tony, but they renamed the character because they thought he was stupid and wouldn't answer to his character's name.
Yes, that's what I think happened with Mr. Tool.

I think he has a lovely voice that he does not even begin to know how to use properly. And yes, he's gonna get the teenyboppers but hard. Still, he's got more adult fans than folks might realize. I think he probably tried out for American Idol five years before he should have. It is significant that AI has never had a male under the age of 24 in the F2 - and weird that it's never had a woman over the age of 22. Women's voices reach their full potential before those of men. I will tell you what, though - after five years of watching American Idol, it has really struck me the degree to which Clay really does sing rings around EVERY other man the show has ever had. Only Elliott Yamin can even come close. Pity they did not realize what they had in him the year he was there. - Quote :

About an hour. Right now I am beginning to think I'm going to go after all. I told my family and my daughter pipes us "Oh! Can I come too?" Caught me off guard. I thought she was a Ruben fan! I will spare you all lengthy commentary on B&B. The dialogue... heh. I've read more natural sounding dialogue in comic books. The shortest possible wrap - up: Young girl, older guy, cheating boyfriend. Angst scheduled to ensue.

I am thrilled that Ace scored a recording contract! He definitely can sing and his performances on the tour proved it. I also thought he was the main reason "Patience" sounded so good when the 5 guys sang it as a group.

| Hi Janice! Good to see you! Glad others of you are in agreement about Ace's singing ability. GE, I couldn't agree more about some singers who are popular and successful but can't really sing - mostly the pop princesses! I used to love Celine when she first came out. I thought she had an amazing voice. Now I cringe when she is on anything. I was never a Mariah fan, though I do appreciate her incredible range. Now Xtina - FLOVE! Never tire of her voice. I am still on the fence about whether or not Sanjaya will have "a real" kind of singing career. Maybe he will be "tooled" on recordings and lip-sync his "live" performances. I don't consider that anything to be proud of though. He may make lots of money, but so did William Hung. I guess he will be fine with that. If 5 years down the road he actually turns out to have "real talent" then that will be a pleasant surprise for me. I do think the kid's adorable. Obviously I couldn't agree more with you Abrahammy when it comes to Clay being the best male vocalist to ever be on AI I also agree that Elliott is the second best. Get his CD - it is awesome! I never remember to watch the B&B. I did see his Thurs. (I think) appearance on You Tube. The writing is really lame so far. He hasn't impressed me as an actor at all so far. Could be he just can't get into the whole thing, but didn't he say in an interview that he would approach it like Lawrence Olivier? So far what I have seen (about 3 days of it) it's been pretty much a big bucket of meh. For me he comes across as a pop star who was asked to be in a show (the way Clay has been) rather than a trained BOCO actor. If I didn't know anything about him other than he came from AI that is what I would think. Just an AI contestant that was asked to be on the show and is giving it a good try. Maybe things will improve. Oh, the hair IMHO needs to be styled. I think he looks a bit of a mess most times. I do not get why the last name was changed if he is playing himself. (That is so funny about Tony Danza - his name was Tony in Who's The Boss too - I wonder if that is really a true story about not answering to another name?!) This is about Kelly Clarkson. You know how her new single "Never Again" is about her break up with David Hodges? Well, he has responded with his own new song. He said on his site that this song is about Kelly. Talk about not keeping personal things personal. Oh well, I suppose it gives both of their new CDs lots of buzz. Kelly's new CD is called "My December" and David mentions the month of December in his song. I'm guessing that is when they broke up. Here are his lyrics: - Quote :
- you never
cared to hear the other side so why would you care to keep this thing alive you paint me into a memory of all your pain but i will not be drawn into the past again
cause all of this is all that I can take and you could never understand the demons that I face so go ahead and bat your eyes and lie right to the world for in everything you are you're just a little girl
I never meant for you to feel this way but Decembers were never meant to be our graves it's not a question of who was wrong and what was right but time cannot heal what you will never recognize
cause all of this is all that I can take and you could never understand the demons that I face so go ahead and bat your eyes and lie right to the world for in everything you are you're just a little girl
so go ahead and cry go ahead believe that you were right keep away the dark to help you sleep tonight
go on and decide who is wrong what is right if you know inside
cause all of this is all that i can take and you could never understand the demons that i face so go ahead and bat your eyes and lie right to the world for in everything you are...
because all of this is all that I can take and you could never understand the demons that I face so go ahead and bat your eyes and lie right to the world for in everything you are you're just a little girl BTW Abrahammy, I truly hope that none of my comments about Con or Sanjaya hurt you in anyway. I don't have any hate toward Con, I am just not so impressed by him at this point. I do not wish him any ill fortune. Besides, I like his mom. Also, I really don't mean to sound mean toward Sanjaya. I truly like "the kid", just not his singing. I do think he is a natural performer. I loved his whole "look" at the AI finale. Very cool. I would be happy for him if he finds any real success. I think he would be perfect for some show on The Disney Chanel! I am so very happy for you that you are going to see Clay! I hope your daughter does go with you and you meet some wonderful meers!! I am so sad that "my fantasy boyfriend" is not coming to see me this time around Maybe he will stop by for the holidays? Love ya! You do know that right?

| FC, unlike William Hung, Sanjaya has actual talent. What we're saying is that he just needs to develop it more and he shouldn't have gone on AI till he did. So, no, I don't think, once he gets the training, that he'll need to be tooled and lip sync. He managed to make it to the top 12, so he must have had something to get him there.
It's definitely true about the Taxi thing. When they've done behind the scenes stuff, they've talked about it. Tony said he didn't realize that at the time. I'll try to find the story.
I do agree that GB is playing himself, not a role. The "acting" I've seen has been 3rd rate - even for a soap opera.

| Oh, I know he has real performance skills (unlike William) I am just not as sure as you guys that he will be such a good vocalist in years to come. I just meant he might have the kind of career as William as far as being a celebrity simply by being on the show and kind of a joke - because he was the joke of the show this season according to late night hosts and funny you tubers and blogs. Hey, William has made a fortune so it's not necessarily such a bad deal! So funny about Tony Danza I loved him though on all his shows. I think he is adorable. He's a great dancer too! | |

Oh no! Why do we have to agree on matters as inconsequential as these? I'm so used to people hating on both of them (and really, Constantine has earned a LOT of it) it's just not a biggie! Possibly I will not be giving out copies of their CDs to every person I know as Christmas gifts... I never did understand folks who did that, even during my most avid Claymate days... - Quote :
I would be happy for him if he finds any real success. I think he would be perfect for some show on The Disney Chanel! This totally works for me. I am very much aware that one of the reasons I ended up pulling for Sanjaya was because I really began to dislike the way he was treated. To some extent I think I find myself looking for ways he might be able to make this staggering international complete humiliation in a happy life for himself, especially since he's come across as an unusually classy, good natured kid. - Quote :

I know I rubbed someone the wrong way at "another board" with my Sanjaya comments and I want to make sure I don't do that here.

Yes, I do think the whole thing with them giving out GB CD's for gifts to everyone, no matter what their musical taste, is hilarious. I'm one of those people who always tries to get a gift I know the other person will like, as opposed to me imposing my tastes on someone else. I'd rather someone not buy me a gift at all!
FC, I totally get what you're saying about Sanjaya. I guess only time will tell!

- Indie calls McPhee for feature bow
By Tatiana Siegel
June 5, 2007 "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee is set to make her feature film debut as the star of the indie dark romantic comedy "The Last Caller."
Penned by Michael Albanese, the story is described as a coming-of-age tale about a self-obsessed woman (McPhee) who searches for love, hope and meaning during a few random events with other urban seekers.
"Caller" is produced by Hit and Run Prods.' Hilary Shor ("Children of Men") and Zenith Film Group's Nicholas Cokas. Robert Hawk ("Chasing Amy") will serve as associate producer. The film's budget will fall in the $5 million-$8 million range, and shooting is scheduled to start in the fall in and around New York.
"This is the first thing that I read that I really wanted to do," said McPhee, who added that the role doesn't involve singing. "I'm up for a couple of big studio projects, but they weren't starring roles. I wanted to start off doing something a little different. It's something that a lot of people wouldn't expect me doing."
In fact, the Southern California native said the film's protagonist "is definitely a little darker than me."
McPhee, who was edged out by Taylor Hicks as winner of the fifth season of "American Idol," made her self-titled album debut for RCA/19 Recordings, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard chart. Her first single, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/My Destiny," debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Singles Sales chart.
She is repped by Untitled Entertainment and CAA.

| I thought the Taylor pictures were kind of sweet. Grossly inappropriate that they hit the net, but I was happy to see him happy.
I cannot muster up enough feeling for the McPhee to care about her movie one way or the other. Given how I felt about the cast of AI this year (preferring MANY of the lower-ranked people to the winner) I am inclined to be glad to see evidence that on AI these days, EVERYBODY wins! Two year careers for everybody! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

| Bo looks awesome and very healthy! YAY! I'm glad I got to see him in the Idol concert before he took ill and left.
Kat is beautiful, but she suffers from what I think Carrie suffers from (and I understand many MANY disagree with me) which is that I don't feel any emotions from her. I feel she doesn't connect to a song (even David Foster said so). However, I'm figuring she could go further as an actress than a singer, since she is really a dime a dozen and has no real hook or mega-personality to make her an entertaining singer. This role sounds heavy-duty. I'd like to see if she could muster a tear or something.
