I hope you are right!!! Nothing against the sweet kid, but I sure would rather the shocking boot would be him and not my David. Let's face it, I think the Davids are the only ones left who would be a shocking boot. The others have been bottom 3 of 2 before and all have gotten some negative feedback from the judges.

Oh, I LOVE your cheerleaders!! How cute are they? You always have the best smilies!

OK, I'll be a bitchiepoo and cheer too! I will feel bad cheering for the disappointed of a 17 year old kid, but I need the kid out of the way!!!!!! If he goes it really could be a final 2 of true musicians! DC/Jason or DC/Brooke! I have no idea if Carly writes music or plays an instruments. I guess I never cared enough to find out geek

Cook #1
Carly or Brooke #2
Either of #2 women or Jason #3

That is my wish.

I actually think David Cook will win now, only because I think they will fix it so he does. (Plus he is the BEST! But let's discount that for the moment) Kelly Clarkson they got lucky with. All the other winners, not so much. (In terms of money, but not real respect, Carrie, too). I do believe they have kicked themselves about not making Daughtry win. David A. is just too Disney for what I think AI wants at this time. I think they really do want to be hippeer than that. Teeny bopper stars only make money for a few albums and then show up on reality shows.

Jason would be further up my list if he was just a little bit more experienced (and I do believe that in 5 or so years he will be ready, if he keeps at it). His "choices" about what part of his voice to use, etc. just aren't up there yet.

Brooke is fine the way she is, though never gonna be a pop sensation. The only reason I might like her as #2 is just because she is so not the AI type, and I know i would go see her in a small venue, because I know I would enjoy the show, in a nice low key way.

Carly has one of the most powerful and controlled physical voices I have ever heard, so I do expect something very cool out of her at some point, but AI doesn't seem to be helping her find what that will be. Grace Slick should b her model, OR do Broadway (not a put down, at all, in my book).

Syesha also has a good physical voice, but unless they fix it to keep her in, she will be gone next. If they do fix it, Brooke will be out next, I think. (I am assuming Carly will do something amazing with Andrew Lloyd Weber..if she doesn't, she might get gone, given that she really ought to be the star of that week, and if she isn't, she ain't gonna do it on AI).

True about Carly, but I really thought Carly would do well with Mariah week, especially the song "Without You", and she was not good at all. So yeah, ALW week should be the week to redeem herself. I like her better than Syesha, not just her style of singing but her personality too, so I hope she does well enough to stay and that Syesha goes.

I just hope David C. blows them all out of the water! I am so nervous for him. Archie seems to have the fans that are so die hard they will vote for him no matter how he does. I am about ready to ask my sons to help me learn how to text.

You know, I was just thinking about it. I realize that there's a reason the guys blew it out of the water on Mariah week and the women just blew.

What happens to the women when the try to sing Mariah or Whitney? Yeah. They get compared to them and told that they should have just shut the hell up and not even have tried to sing that week. I'm still amazed there are women who are brave enough to take them on when it's not Mariah week. Nine times out of ten, they're told to start packing their bags.

Unfortunately, two out of the three women left are suffering from a major set of nerves. They are completely rattled by Simon. They have let him totally undermine their confidence. I mean, most of them are afraid of the judges (as evidenced by their singouts being FAR superior to anything they did on the show because they can finally LET GO), but are able to rise above it for the performance. You can literally see Carly and Brooke, while they're singing, thinking "oh shit. In two minutes I'm gonna have to face Simon and he's going to destroy me."

I guarantee if we went to see them in some small club, we'd have a completely different opinion of them and they'd blow us away.

I agree with GE's post. To be critiqued harshly in front of a class of 30 is uncomfortable, but to have that happen in front of 25-30 million would be worse by mulitudes.

They say "It's a singing competition," but some of the comments are personal and, IMO, way out of line and others are just criticisms without any helpful feedback. As an example, Simon has told Carly just about every week that she has picked the wrong song, but offers no clue as to why or what he feels might be better for her in his opinion. Most of the time, I haven't agreed with him and have enjoyed her performances. I think Brooke also has a lot of natural talent and I would definitely see her show.

I cut the contestants a lot of slack for those reasons and then will see them on the tour or later in their own shows when they can perform to an audience who is there because they want to see them. I've been pleasantly surprised a number of times by how much better some of them are in a setting where they are performing to an appreciative audience.

I think being able to keep your head screwed on despite the criticism is part of the game - Clay was able to do that. And yes, Brooke and Carly have both gone completely to pieces, which is why I think the Final Three is pretty much ripe for the guy's picking. Of the men, the only one who has shown any signs of mental wavering is Archie, and he's TCO. Cook's a rock and Jason's the Comeback Kid.

I agree that Carly has the best pure voice of any of them, which is why I am sorry she is not doing better.

I told my mom last Weds. I feel like Carly is just singing to to please Simon. Like that is all she is thinking about when she is singing. Brooke seems to have totally lost her confidence or something.

I think an all male final 3 would be awesome! The highest rated and most talked about final 2 is Clay/Ruben. I don't think TPTB would mind at all having a boy/boy final 2. I think the battle of The Davids would bring a lot of media hype and buzz. I don't think any of the girls would cause as much excitement and if it is Archie and one of the girls - forget about it. There would be NO suspense with the finale and ratings would not be as high and TPTB know that.

Oh no! This group struggled early with contestants getting sick. I had hoped they would stay healthy for the rest of the season. I would hate anyone to get the boot because they were too sick to give their best performance. I just hope David C is staying far away from Jason today!!

You know Badger, 24 hours can make a big difference when it comes to being ill. He may be just fine tomorrow *crosses fingers*

Yeah, that was my point. I mean, this show has been on for quite some time, so it's not like it's a surpris about the harsh critiques. Yes, there is evidence that all contestants are affected by the comments, as I said, by how much better the singout is and, as Janice pointed out, how much better and more fun they are on tour.

Brooke and Carly have literally allowed Simon to get inside their head, so while they're performing they just can't let loose at all and it shows on their faces when they're performing. I think frazz will tell you that when you are an entertainer, you've gotta shake all that off the minute you hit the stage.

Good news on Jason. He does have a cold but the doctor gave him some antibiotics and he had a shot and is feeling much better.

Regarding his song for tomorrow. It definitely will not be "Gethsemane" or "Music Of The Night".

I hope no one attempts The Music of the Night. Its a very complex song to sing and have come out right. And personally, I'm not up for hearing one of my favorite songs get malled.

If interested, you might want to go see the interest the Broadway community has about tomorrow night's ALW songfest. You can vote for your fave is so inclined. Go here and look on the bottom right side.

I think Brooke will do great - if she can hold it together.

I am very worried about DC and Jason. I really thought DC would go for something from Jesus or Joseph - not Phantom. But maybe this list is incorrect.

I don't know if any of you have seen this poll from OK. DC is doing great, but you Jason fans might want to give him a boost. He deserves more votes than that. I think it is a one vote per computer poll because I was only able to vote once.

I just read an interview in which ALW gave a few minimal comments about the theme night coming up. He told Simon that he will be very surprised by the work Brooke has done, and said she was the contestant with which he was most impressed.

Well, congratulations to Brooke. However, I am beginning to get so concerned that I might just want to detach from this whole thing. ALW also said that some of them had made some very strange decisions, but he was not at liberty to discuss them.

I hook this hint up to the comments from Jason's friend, that he was taking a huge risk and other people expect him to fail. Well, if Jason is one of the people that ALW thinks made a strange decision, and other people are expecting Jason to fail, then he is going to have a bad week. Factor in, then, that he is sick. Add that he is likely to go first this week.

I think he may very well be going home in sixth place- two weeks after he created his big sensation with a signature song. After I had talked myself in to thinking he might come in third.

Gee, I've never gone through this before, no sir. I don't think I'll be as depressed this time when it happens, but well, Razz

I don't wanna watch Syesha anymore.

ETA: ah, I see Firecracker found it.

Like you, I am happy for Brooke - scared for DC and J. I am sure Archie will just be amazing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes or at least the judges will say so.

I don't know Sky. Maybe it is over and that is why I couldn't vote today. I voted the other day on it. If it is over I am quite surprised Jason's fans either didn't know about the poll or didn't care about that poll.
