The latest from someone who was at rehearsals:

Quote :
ETA: Just heard from Caffiend. The contestants sing their songs in two sets, but the judges don’t judge them until after second song. Their video with Neil Diamond precedes their first song.

* Jason Castro - “Forever in Blue Jeans” - When one of the fake judges told him he looked comfortable up there, Jason answered “I don’t know about that…”
* David Cook - “I’m Alive” - Both of David’s songs “totally rocked.”
* Brooke White - “I Am … I Said” at the piano - She is going to address forgetting her words tonight.
* David Archuleta - “Sweet Caroline” - Both of his songs were “fabulous”
* Syesha Mercado - “Hello Again” - She “looks like a star.”
* Jason Castro - “September Morn”
* David Cook - “All I Ever Really Need is You”
* Brooke White - “I’m a Believer”
* David Archuleta - “America”
* Syesha Mercado - “Thank the Lord for the Night Time”

I love that the person said both of DC's songs rocked. Wish the person didn't say Archie was fabulous Razz

If DC is second I am not going to worry about that. I just don't see him going home tomorrow. Perhaps he will break the curse.

How is that? I think he will do great on those songs. If they wanted him gone then why not give him the death spot instead of DC?

I agree, Brooke needs to stfu already about it and move on! A week later - no need to go back in time.

I must say - Archie's song choices could not have been more predictable. I wonder if any of the judges will call him on that. I'm sure he knows singing about America or the USA keeps you safe for weeks! Just ask Kristy Lee! Razz

I know David C.'s first song. It's a real rocker. Diamond uses his gritty rock voice on that, so I'm sure it'll be good.

I know my Diamond and I'm not familiar with the second by just the name of the song.

Forever in Blue Jeans is one of my all-time favorite Diamond songs, so I'm very excited he'll be singing that. No way he can go tonight because these are definitely Jason kinds of songs.

After Brooke sang "You Must Love Me" you can't get more "pity me" than that, although "I Am...I Said" is a damn good try.

Well, sometimes when the judges are particularly harsh, it brings out the fanbase even more. Then their plan backfires. How did Brooke do?

Brooke did great on her second song. The judges really liked it. Her first song was corny, cheesy and Simon called it a nightmare.

The judges liked Archie Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes and his America song Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Yes, they did GE Crying or Very sad

If DC weren't in "the death spot" I would thow some votes Jason's way. Maybe if the DI numbers look good for DC I WILL throw some Jason's way.

I am officially sick of Archie Rolling Eyes I hate that he picked "America" and Simon was right about picking "the perfect song" for American voters. For some reason I want to puke silent

Off to VOTE!! Later ladies!

Thanks for the excellent looking drinks Sky! I think we all need them tonight!

Paula reminds me of a teacher my sister had in the fifth grade who thought Theresa was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Anyway, my sister forgot to do her homework one day and went to tell Mr. Galante about it.

"Mr. Galante?"

"Yes, Theresa"?

"About last night's homework"

"Oh, yours was the best in the class. I gave you an A+."

"But, Mr. Galante, I forgot to do my homework."

"Oh, I'm sure if you had done it, it would have been the best in the class".

Believe it or not, she kept the A+.

They hate Jason because he's beautiful. Really, I think part of their problem is that they're afraid if he goes too far it looks like maybe the show is more about looks than talent.

Jason doesn't fit their 'profile'. Jason is different, laid back and does what he wants to do..........they don't like that. DC does everything very well and fits the 'profile'................. I don't see why they can't have two winners! Laughing I am so torn......... I'll vote equally with maybe a few more towards Jason..........

I'm on the West Coast and AI hasn't aired here yet, but Jason is getting my votes. He has a beautiful recording voice and his songs are the ones I have been listening to. I don't think TPTB would know how to promote Jason whereas it's obvious for DA and DC.

DC is not going anywhere and TPTB will make sure he doesn't. There's no doubt that he will be getting a recording contract.

DC is in first place on DI so I am throwing a few votes Jason's way. You can get through on the "06" number. I'm getting votes in for DC on the first intermittently so I may start on his second number.

I still can't believe it! He had to listen to a bad critique of his second song before he sang it, and then he had to sing it!

Oh, I hope so. I really think JC could be promoted..........his recordings are very good. There are a lot of 'stars' out there singing music similar to what he would record. Some people, and I hate to say this, don't like him because of his dreads. If you took those away (and please don't!) he would get more votes.

I hate dreads, but I would never let that stop me from voting for the singer if he was my fave.

Sky, I meant about Syesha. Simon told her he thought she was in trouble and she is right behind DC on DI with Archie in third place. Though from all I am reading his fans text and use cells and go-phones. So who really knows - Archie could be getting the most votes really.
