| It is scary! I was shocked when I Googled Voodoo dolls for pix and all those came up on evilbay! I don't know if they work. I'd feel crazy even trying. Ebay does have some "love" voodoo dolls! Maybe some of the single gals here could get one and give it a try! I would just like to give Archie a little case of laryngitis that last about 3 weeks. Nothing too serious I just got a PM from someone at that David Cook board I belong too. I went to check my emails and I got one from "DAVID COOK"! My heart jumped into my mouth!! Cool it turned out to be an old friend from another board who also loves DC! Very exciting! GE, lots of those Voodoo dolls have dreads! We could make a Jason doll. I even have a doll guitar! | |

| I'm confused. Your friend's name on the board is "David Cook"??? Or was that just the subject line and you thought it was her name?
Yes! A little happy Jason doll!

| I get my email through Outlook Express. When I click "receive" to get my emails and they pop up it states who they are from. Like when I have a PM from here (I always have the boards I belong too send me emails letting me know I have a PM) "Wizened Women" pops up in my in-box. If it is from one of my friends or relatives it says their names "Mary Brown". So when I hit receive it said I had an email from "DAVID COOK" (not the name of the board) just DC. I thought maybe he was sending emails to his fans at the board I belong to or something. It was just a surprise to see his name in my emails. It was such a pleasant surprise that it was an old board friend! | |

Hee hee! I just caught this. Any single gals on this particular board feel in need of entrapping a guy? I sure don't. Might wind up with one, but geeze, I do not feel even remotely defective for not having one. No envy for the married, here.

Oh, HELL yes. I can't believe the free pass this kid has gotten while Jason's been roasted alive. Why does this damned show manage to make me absolutely livid EVERY year? Do I just gravitate towards the wrong contestants like a moth to a flame?

| Awww................I'm usually the one rooting for the underdogs in everything. I just see a very talented Jason Castro, a warm young man who sings with his heart. I have heard comments from so many..."Oh, he's okay, but those dreadlocks, ick". Unbelieveable that they might judge someone from their appearance. I wasn't sucked into the show last year, at all. I got sucked in the year of Clay and Daughtry and Bo Bice. This year I want someone I love to actually win....IF they want to win.
Don't think of it as graviting to the wrong contestant. It's sometimes better when they don't win!! Ha, most of the time it is better they don't win. As long as they keep with it and continue to let us enjoy them, that's all that matters. Winning the crown of American Idol isn't all that important.

You know how I know I agree with you? I just sat here for a few minutes trying to remember who won last year. That had to be the dullest year ever. It had me thinking "I don't give a crap about any of them and not at all who wins". Not the kind of fan response they want. - Quote :

Seems as if we like the same energy, Abrahammy. Why do you think I keep saying DAMN YOU, AMERICAN IDOL! Because every time I try to leave, they pull me back in. I didn't want to care this year. I thought I was cured. Now lovely sweet Jason Castro has made me care and I'm in and I can't stop it now. - Quote :

What? You mean Ruben Studdard isn't having a thriving career??? Seriously, there's two things that Simon throws a total hissy about and it cracks me up. 1. This is a SINGING competition No. It most definitely is not a singing competition. If it was, they'd have singers judging the contestants and deciding who should go. 2. It DOES matter who wins! It does! It does! It does! Despite all evidence to the contrary, by which I mean two years in particular where the "winner" faded into obscurity and the "losers" got a career going and became household names. Despite the facts staring him in the face, Simon still tries to tell us winning matters. Considering the "winner" owes his first born, a sacrifice of some kind and possibly the thumb on his right hand to AI before they can actually make an album they want to make, I really believe winning AI is actually losing.

Idol" slide continues after judge mix-up
Fri May 2, 4:07 AM ET
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - A night after Tuesday's much-discussed on-air blunder by "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul, the results show of the talent show lost 1.2 million viewers from the previous week.
With "Idol" (22.1 million viewers vs. 23.3 million) already having dropped in nearly every episode in recent weeks, however, that means the reality show has once again hit a five-year low. A year ago, the show averaged 29 million viewers.
On Tuesday's episode, a last-minute procedural change resulted in the judges critiquing contestants' first round of performances instead of waiting until the end of the second round. Abdul gave a negative review of contestant Jason Castro's two songs.
The only problem: Castro had sung only one song.
His second performance -- of Neil Diamond's "September Morn" -- was from the "Idol" rehearsal and was scheduled for later during the show. Judges are supposed to base their critiques on how contestants perform during the live telecast, not the rehearsal.
The on-air gaffe has unleashed a tsunami of comments from fans online accusing Abdul of being, at best, unfairly prejudging of Castro and, at worst, part of a competition series where judges' comments are determined in advance. Abdul said the next day that she was "confused."
At the other end of the reality ratings spectrum, the CW debuted "Farmer Wants a Wife" (2.4 million) up against "Idol," and the result was a lower premiere rating than the CW's previous reality effort, "Crowned." "Farmer" did slightly improve on its time-period average, however.
Fox won the night with 14.1 million viewers, followed by CBS (10.5 million), NBC (8.4 million), ABC (6.2 million) and the CW (3.2 million). Maybe because last season was so boring some people didn't even bother to tune in this season. Too bad for them though. They have missed some really good performances/contestants.

If people are loyal viewers, which Idol has pretty much had, I don't think they'd say "oh, they had one boring season. I'm outta here." The story was about how many viewers they lost since Paula's "mistake". That seems like proof to me that people are calling bullshit on the show. Let me put it this way: I think they've always done, to some degree, the manipulation thing, but if I wasn't on the boards and I wasn't really aware. Now, I believe, they are being extra-special blatant about it and even people who aren't on the boards are noticing. Maybe because the ratings are slipping, they want a really nail-biting finale and so they're trying extra-hard to make it go their way, because they've pulled the wool over the public's eyes for so long and that they think they can do it more and we won't realize. They're wrong.

| Aw, so cute!! Thanks Sky! I love his eyes - even though I cannot quite figure out the color Sometimes they look brown, sometimes I see a lighter color mixed in. I should just ask one of his fangirlies on the DC board who are insane for him. I bet they know! Did you hear about how the Kansas City Royals wanted DC to sing the National Anthem at the game when he is home for Top 3, but he refused because a group of 9 years olds were scheduled and have been rehearsing for weeks and he didn't want them to be disappointed. What a sweetie! Instead he said he would sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch. They also asked him to throw out the first pitch (did you know he used to be a pitcher in HS?) and he will be in the broadcasters booth too. Sounds like a great day for him! Now let's pray he makes Top 3! I am going to have to vote my fingers to the bone this week! | |

| David Cook will make top three. He's a gold-plated lock for it. He's the most popular of the four remaining contestants, the theme coming up might as well have been selected for him, and the production staff and judges absolutely adore him. He's been a very good, consistent contestant and I think he's pretty much a deserved lock to the be the American Idol. It's Jason who has his back to the wall. Two different posters have leaked reports that Jason actually was Bottom Two last week, and only slipped by Brooke by 1% of the vote, while Syesha was in the top 2. TPTB have been feeding the media stories that Jason wants to go home, to make absolutely sure they nail his coffin well. I don't know how he's going to get through this week. If he lived just anywhere, it wouldn't even bother me that much; Final Four is a FANTASTIC showing for an AI singer who is not a glory-noting belter, and quite a bit farther than I originally expected him to leave. At one point, I was kinda hoping he'd tie Greekboy. But now, I really, really want him to survive just one more week. See, Rockwall is only an hour and a half away from me, and Rosie just told me my day off is on Friday this week. If he gets the Hometown visit, I can actually attend. I can bring back recaps and everything. After the way he's been ravaged, it would really do my heart good to see him walk back into territory where he's our hometown kid, where we are all enormously proud of what he's managed to do, where he is held up rather than torn down. I don't really want him to make the finale, but I do want him to get through just one last week. Also, it's literally the only way Jason is actually going to be able to see Rockwall now. He's lasted too long for any other real trip home. If he gets voted out this week, he's got to do the press junket and then he has to come back to Hollywood immediately to start rehearsing for the finale. Then he has to start getting ready for the tour, so he won't see Texas again until they come here in August. It's probably the first time in AI history that an upcoming elimination will actually affect what I do with the rest of my week. I really, really hope he gets through. If anybody has a few extra votes to spare for him, I'd consider it a personal favor. And if we managed to take out Archuleta in the process for the traditional Final Four Shocking Boot, I'd consider it a considerable accomplishment. I can't believe the free pass that kid has gotten for cheesy, mediocre work. | |

| Damn, it is too late to order that Voodoo doll!! I would love for Archie to be the shocking boot! I was pretty damn sure Jason was bottom 2. Once it was pointed out that Ryan never said "bottom two" and DI had Syesha in first place - well 2+2. I guess it will depend on if Syesha can really rock this week. I wish I was an confident as you Abrahammy about DC making final 3. I so worry about the shocking boot at 4th place. Only DC and Archie would be a shock this week and Archie does have those texting little girls and the grannies voting like crazy. I am just as worried as you are. Well, almost. Jason does have VFTW and probably a lot of people who just want to stick to AI after last week, plus his fans will vote like crazy. I worry that DC will do so good this week that fans who have Jason for second fave will vote hard for JC feeling DC is safe for sure. That is probably what happened to Daughtry, Melinda, and Tamyra. Nothing is ever for sure with this show. Who would have thought we would lose MJ so early and still have Syesha? I do hope and pray that Jason can beat out Syesha and get to have his "Welcome Home" and you get to go. That would be a blast! Sadly, at this point I do not know where I will really be Tuesday and Wednesday. My father has taken a very bad turn. We all are going there in a few hours. It does look like the end is very close - he actually is asking Jesus to take him now. So I may not even be watching this week. I just don't know what the next few days will bring. Dad has managed to hang on months longer than any doctor can understand, but it does appear these could be the final days. Praying we all have a happy week though! | |
