| I'm sorry to hear about your dad, firecracker. I'll say a prayer for you and your family.
I remember Bo saying that he left for tour rehearsals the morning after he got married. So yeah, no rest for the weary as far as Idol is concerned.
Jason's probably due for a good week which should propel him into the top 3, but it's by no means a sure thing. The only one who is a lock is Cookie and even he could be a shocking boot candidate. I keep imagining Cookie and Archie teasing each other over who's going to be the shocking boot and Syesha and Jason teasing each other over who's going to be the "villain" in the "shocking boot" ouster. Or if there is no shocking boot, which one is going home.

| My fear is the judges will rate 'archie' as not doing very well, just to get the voters to blister their fingers dialing. I hope everyone votes for DC and JC and that one of the other two goes home. Syesha still scares me. I'm not looking for her to have a good week with song choice, but ya never know.....she's still there. I'd love DA to totally bomb, but that would mean mass voting for him and that's not good. I'm worried........ | |

I found a whole bunch of new DC stuff at The Clack House, but I just don't have the energy this morning to bring it over here. Maybe tonight I will.

| I put this in Clay's thread but I wanted everyone to see it! It is a 34 second You Tube of Clay on the roof of the theater after his last performance in Broadway's Spamalot. The crowd was HUGE! The cheers deafening! What a moment for Clay! SO much love! I can only hope that some day my DC and Jason can have a moment like this! It is just the most wonderful little video! He holds up six fingers at the end for the 6th of May - the release date for his new CD! I love him! Haters "to the left, to the left"!

Could Jason Castro Win American Idol Because Of Paula Abdul Mistake?
http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2008/05/04/could-jason-castro-win-american-idol-because-of-paula-abdul-mistake/
May 4, 2008 07:19:13 by Joe Reality
Jason Castro Two SongsWhile Jason Castro’s most recent performances might have led many to believe his future time on American Idol might be short, more American Idol viewers are now rallying around the singer partly due to backlash over a mistake made by Paula Abdul. When Paula Abdul criticized Jason Castro for a second song that he hadn’t even sung yet, many viewers felt that it showed that Jason Castro was being targeted for elimination no matter how he performed.
As the contestants stood on stage looking bewildered and the audience giggled, Paula Abdul told Castro, “The two songs made me feel like you’re not fighting hard enough to get into the top four.” While Paula Abdul has offered up various explanations ranging from confusion over reading notes for David Cook to hearing Jason Castro’s second song in dress rehearsals, the message to American Idol fans was that Paula Abdul already had her mind made up about Castro regardless of how he did with his second song.
Simon Cowell has also gone on record predicting that it will be a battle of the Davids in the American Idol 7 finale. Combine Paula Abdul’s mistake with Simon Cowell’s prediction, and it certainly looks like the judges might be doing their best to manipulate voters toward a David Cook vs. David Archuleta finale.
Because Paula Abdul’s mistake made it look like the fix might be in, not only will Jason Castro have the votes of fans that he earned through great performances like “Hallelujah,” but he will also get the votes of those viewers determined to spoil the all-David finale that the American Idol judges appear to be pining over. On the official American Idol message board, a group called the DreadNerd alliance is hoping for a David Cook vs. Jason Castro finale, and even Vote For The Worst has thrown their support behind Jason Castro and what they describe as his “I don’t care” attitude.
Often on American Idol, it’s not the one who has been the favorite from the beginning who winds up winning, but the contestant who gets hot at just the right time. With Paula Abdul’s mistake creating sympathy for Jason Castro, the door is wide open for him to come out with a knock-out performance during the final four show and build momentum to propel himself all the way into the finale. It was during the final four week of American Idol 5 that Elliott Yamin shocked the world with spectacular performances that helped result in the shocking elimination of favorite Chris Daughtry. Could Jason Castro make history repeat itself in final four week of American Idol 7 and take out one of favored Davids?

| Yes! This is what I've been saying!
1. Paula's mistake is the best thing to happen to Jason Castro
2. People are hip to the manipulation now more than ever. Where before it was obnoxious, now it's just downright blatant.
They underestimated our intelligence completely. They thought they could continue with all the bullshit, only crank it up to 11, and we'd still be lapping it up with big huge spoons. They thought wrong.
I also totally agree that what seems like a slam-dunk can turn around through someone or something coming along to throw everything off.
I think Idol knows that and was trying to avoid it by stacking the deck, but we all knows what happens when you try really REALLY hard to avoid a situation from happening...it happens faster. It happens more.
Instead of backing off and realizing it looked like they were trying to manipulate, they went into overdrive gunning for Jason even more. How stupid can they be? Maybe it is just huge amounts of hubris from getting away with it for so long.

| My guess is Jason would not want to win or even advance under these circumstances. I am pretty sure he is the kind of artist who would want to EARN the placement based on his performances. I don't think it would be very sweet for him under these circumstances.
If DC goes out this week just because people want to tick off TPTB - then I am done with this season. The only person who will really be hurt is DC. Well, and Jason too since he will never be able to feel 100% he won or advanced on his own merit.

| I wouldn't bother to watch if it was DA and Syesha left as the final two. Jason knows he can't win. I read all the articles about how he is ready to go home, well of course he is, he knows he isn't winning. I just pray he gets a contract and records. They have made it obvious in coming right out and saying he isn't going to win. DC will do great regardless, he has star written all over him. | |

| I wouldn't watch an Archie/Syesha final 2 either It would be the first season I didn't watch the final 2/finale. Well, I would have to tape the finale so I could see DC. I would just fast forward through everything else I can really see Jason getting signed by a smaller label. Maybe a deal like Elliott got. ETA: Oh lord! I just read that Haley from last season has a CD coming out Are you kidding me? I just listened to her god awful country single I won't even bring a link. I love you all too much to torture you! So, I say if Haley can make a CD, Jason sure the hell can! | |

| FWIW, people that know Jason say he absolutely wants to win but that he doesn't expect to.
Also, it turns out that Jason clarified what he meant to the reporter but she refused to change her story.

| I'm sure he wants to win. I'm sure all the people who try out want to win. I just don't think he wants to win because people are trying to prove some point. Who would want to win that way?
It is wrong for the reporter to refuse to change the story, but what else is new with the media?

| At this point, the whole thing has gotten so dirty that title is going to smell a little bit no matter who gets it. This show really stinks.
Cookie is the best contestant they have left by quite a bit. I do not understand why they felt that they had to hurt somebody else to make sure David got what he deserved.
For what it's worth, I sat down and figured something out.
In this group of people, we have left three technically excellent vocalists and one competent one.
In this group of people, we have left two genuine, honest performers and two that are made of plastic.
David Cook is the only person who fits both categories. Actually, I'd go so far to say that Cookie's probably weaker technically than Archie, and Syesha is the strongest of them all technically, but she just leaves me completely cold, and poor little Archie is in a situation that's beginning to scare me. I just found out his song choices are decided in family committee. And NO, that's NOT a rumor. Jeff totally runs this show.

| I'm starting to fear for Archie's mental health if he doesn't win. I mean seriously. He is starting to look fragile and if his dad puts a lot of pressure on him to win and he doesn't will the kid have issues? I really think AI should have stuck with 18 and up. I bet AI could have kept his parents away if he were not a minor. I think their hands are tied with Archie being 17. I read some article/blog something where the writer stated he thought Archie would win because he looked like a helpless little puppy and nobody wants to kick a puppy | |

I just registered. http://david-fan.net/forum/index.php I don't know how many will join, but I read on two boards how pissed people are at Jacob. He calls DC fans as bad as Claymates. I guess I will fit in pretty good then!

I think there is a very good chance of this happening, just for that reason. And DC will be much better off that way in the long run. Clive/AI machine is not the right man/company to be the producer of his first album. I will be more apprehensive about his career if he wins because he is such a complex, talented artist I doubt AI will make the best decisions on how to market him. I know DC has excellent taste, judgement, and arrangement talent to make great choices on the material, but if they are cheap and don't pay for the best songs...even he cannot make a silk purse out of shit.

| You are probably right Luca, but Clive did alright by Daughtry so who knows, and Clive has been demoted so maybe the new guy will make smart choices. All I know is DC said he wants to win and I will vote for him as long as I can to make that possible for him. I will honestly be cool with him coming in second though. 4th? I will FREAK THE HELL out if he goes tomorrow night | |

| Abrahammy.........a post you made at Castrocopia has ended up over on Rockband!! I must say, I agree with what you said. If the judges aren't reading scripts, they've at least been informed on what remarks should be made. I'll still be watching because I have to see Jason and DC........YouTube just won't do for me.

| I don't know Lau. I just know he was demoted. I have no idea what his relationship will be with this season's Idols. But like I said, he did good by Daughtry and he should know by now what it is about DC that people love. Hopefully he will let him put out the type of CD that DC wants too.
I am so nervous about tonight. I read that Syesha is doing Proud Mary. That song always rocks the house. I read Jason's song spoilers too. I have no idea what DC is "cooking up" for us tonight!
