OMG!!! That pic of DC!!!! RAWR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a cougar!!

Swoon!

I am scared to death to watch tonight pale

Sky, I am not sure but I heard there is a Bob Marley version of ISTS with a Yuke. I'm guessing that is the version Jason will go. Neither songs are faves of mine, but I am sure Jason has something fun planned with them.

I sure hope so. I also heard about the other version but I'm not familiar with it. No spoilers yet as to what DC is singing? I'm not fond of either song either but I know Jason will sing them well........ Whatever DC sings will knock our socks off!!! I'm scared to. I heard what DA will be singing...........yuk!

Jason will bring it I think.

The only rumor I heard about DC was "House of the Rising Sun" which would THRILL ME!! With that voice of his?!! Lordy. I love that song. But no one knows if that rumor is true. Another one was some Duran Duran song (please just no) and A WHO SONG! Which would really RAWK!

Archie's songs - Rolling Eyes If daddy picked them daddy is whacked Razz Archie ain't no Elvis. Should be interesting! Have I mentioned I'd give my left arm for Archie to be shocking boot?? Hey God, you owe me this week!

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, my dad wanted to be cremated and have a memorial service at his church with the pastor there that he has become very close with the last ten years. That pastor was with us Sunday, but left the next day for a sabbatical and will not be returning until May 26th. So we are hoping to have my Dad's memorial service the first weekend in June. We got everything set-up yesterday with the funeral director but we could not have the date set since we need to be sure Father Karl has returned safely. I just wanted to let you know why I will be home watching AI tonight instead of at a wake for my Dad.

Oh, no..........I use to love "Stand By Me", but I think after tonight, I won't like it so much anymore. Evil or Very Mad I've never liked Elvis.

I'm not sure Syesha can do "Proud Mary", proud.

DC...I love Baba O'Rielly.....I'm not familiar with the other song (at least not by name)

Jason....I pray he does well with these songs.

I couldn't stand Elvis, sorry anyone who loved him. He had a great voice but he bugged me big time. I just don't think the little puppy can pull it off. But I am sure the judges will say it was "DA BOMB" Neither songs seem right for the pimp spot. I always think of the Idol getting the pimp spot really ending the show on a high note. Neither of those songs are real show stoppers IMHO. Stand By Me is a very nice song. ADORED the movie!

You will know that Duran Duran song when you hear it. I just hope DC changes it up. I could just never get into that band at all.

Yeah, I cannot believe he picked that song. He sang it well, but that song just goes nowhere vocally.

Syesha did really good with Proud Mary.

You all are going to hate me, but Jason's first performance was terrible for me Sad I'm so sorry to say that. I so hope the next song goes better for him.

OH LORD! The Archie pimping is so BAD tonight I could puke!!!! Mad

No way DC is TCO. They couldn't be pushing Archie more!!!! Mad

It's more than her singing or them loving her. She fucking SOBBED after her song and then they let her go on and on about what the song means to her while sobbing!! A freaking Miss America political/racial speech! She bought herself a boatload of votes!! PUKE!!!!!!!! No one else gets to give a fucking speech!! Can you tell I am mad????!!

On top of that Archie sang the Elvis song great Mad And Simon declares Archie THE BEST!!

DC goes first and they don't praise that much.

Oh, and Jason fans DON'T even watch! Seriously. He had a rough night and the whole thing was heartbreaking Crying or Very sad Spare yourself the heartache.

Off to vote for DC because Syesha and Archie are SOOOOO going to be top 2 after tonight!

Badger, for me at this point in the competition you just cannot forget the words. It is a matter of taste I suppose on the first song. For me the vocals were nothing special and I just didn't care for the song. But then I was never a fan of Marley.

I know you'll still watch Sky. I would too. But it is going to hurt.

I love this quote from someone at The Clack House "How can the judges breathe when they are so far up Archie's ass?" I about fell of the bed laughing! Laughing But it's true. Kid gets sooooo much praise it is ridiculous. That said, he did sing Love Me Tender beautifully and he changed it up.

I'm sorry but Jason choked twice. Very cute boy, but he needs to go. No offense to anyone here that loves him, but I was really saddened that Michael or Carly was'nt there in his place tonight. I can totally understand liking someone's style and tone and voting to keep them on to a point, but voting for someone because you like them vs. because they gave an outstanding performance is similar to giving someone an A for a C- report that is turned in because you liked a report they turned in last month. Sometimes we all see things through rose colored glasses when we are in the fangirl mode, and I know I have been there in the past. But, frankly if Jason does'nt go...I don't think I will ever watch that show again.

I loved David C's version of Baba O' Riley...and that is a special song for me that I have very high expectations of. But, Hungry was a very bad song choice, and his voice did'nt sound good on it.

Syesha? I would have cried too after she tried to pull off a difficult song like that. I agree with some of what Randy said about the arrangement, but she really put it out there for that song. Hey, she is an emotional girl and there is a lot of stress at this point. She has given her best and I respect her for it. I see her really working on the songs she is doing and she picks damned hard ones at that. I hope every black american that watches idol votes until their fingers bleed for her. She is a class act and I am thrilled she sincerely broke down. Hell, Brooke did it every week and everyone felt sorry for her and voted their asses off for her-why should'nt this lovely young lady deserve the same consideration for showing a maturity and professionalism that many have not?

Sorry if this pisses people off, but hopefully we all have a right to our opinions and I mean no disrespect towards anyone.

PostSubject: Re: American Idol   American Idol - Page 35 Icon_minitimeTue May 06, 2008 10:46 pm

I understand what you are saying, but I never did see anyone break down like that after a performance. My problem was not so much with the tears, but them letting her go on and on and on with her little speech. When did anyone else EVER get to do that on AI? It was so unfair to the others. I didn't like it one little bit. I guess TPTB took advantage of a "moment" but it rubbed me the wrong way big time. Syesha was always one to talk back to the judges and that was one of the reasons I wasn't that fond of her, and tonight went way too far for me.

Sadly, with all due respect to the Jason fans here, you are right on the money about Jason. For me, both performances were just, well, really bad. I do feel he deserves to be the one to go tomorrow night based on his performances. You just do not forget the words at final 4. The others all sang well enough on both their songs to deserve their places in the final 3. On other boards that I go to that our not JC fan boards, just ladies talking about the show, they too feel that JC really blew it.

I am so sorry Abrahammy that you will miss out on the big party if JC goes tomorrow. Really my heart will break for you guys. If only Jason had really brought it tonight! I would so like it to have been Syesha with the off night. I would still prefer to see her go, even if she doesn't deserve to go.

I also agree about MJ. I saw the You Tube of MJ and Carly singing on Ellen in Chicago today. MAN they were good! Especially MJ! He does have a terrific voice and such a gorgeous man! Carly was great too and seemed really happy. That was nice to see.

Now, for you DC fans - did he seem a little down or sad to any of you? Something seemed a wee bit off about him tonight. I wonder if things are getting worse with his Bro. Just didn't seem to have joy in him tonight. He sure did look hot though!!

Yes, I also thought DC seemed a little down tonight. I'm hoping the studio for him will be Baba O'Reilly. I really want to hear him do the whole song. He totally rocked his second song.

Jason didn't bring it tonight, you could see it in his face before the show. I think he tries to cover up a lot with that winning smile. I'm sure he's ready to go home, but not because he wouldn't like to win. I'm sure he wanted to win this, but he knows he wouldn't. I think the judges and remarks made tonight were horrible. They want to make sure they beat him down even more. No, he shouldn't be forgetting lyrics at this point in the competition. I loved him for being Jason and not bending to be anyone else or changing his singing or song choice for anyone else. I pray he does get a recording contract because I want to listen to him sing over and over again. I liked Tamborine Man, it was Jason, maybe not on par with anything DC sings but I'll bet the studio (and I'm hoping its this song) is beautiful.

Syesha didn't turn her tears on until after Randy said he didn't like her performance. If they could have just let it be and not carry on with all the comforting it would have gone over better. I just didn't like all the 'gushing' over her and making sure she was okay......... And I hope you all know what I mean by 'gushing' because I had to explain that one too. scratch

DA..........I won't even go there.

To make it all worse, I had to sit and try to explain to hubby how this show REALLY works and how DA's songs are chosen, and how TPTB can twist and turn to get things their way. Talk about a stressful hour for me. It was like banging my head against the wall. And NO, me going to another room to watch would not have worked, believe me.

DC did seem a tad subdued when speaking, but I did'nt think he seemed off at all on Baba O'Reiley...I just really wonder why in the heck he picked a Duran Duran song, especially that one. Anyone would seem off singing that mess... Laughing

And for the record...I also am not an Elvis fan either and thought David A was just allright on Love me tender. He nailed a home run though on Stand by Me-just a really good song for him. I think his voice may be getting a little strained though. It seemed to take a lot of effort for him to get through both tunes and his high range was not really there. He is a prime candidate for overtaxing his instrument....especially on the AI tour.
And if he wins it all? I really won't be sad. He is very talented and I think that should be rewarded on this show. David C. is really too good for AI, and I hope comes in second-which should get him the entry into the music business, but allow him more flexibility and hopefully credibility. For David A. credibility isn't really an issue. He is a 17 year, innocent kid who will have a successful pop career for a while before his voice is ruined.

Yeah, the whole thing with Syesha was bizarre to me.

I couldn't agree more about the judges Sky. That is why I said not to watch. If I had to watch my fave stand there and get hammered like that I would be a mess. He did deserve negative comments for his performances, but they do go way OTT sometimes both in criticisms and praise. No way did Archie "CRUSH" the others. Even though he sang the Elvis song well he still has no "wow" factor when it comes to his performance style. He was just a kid in a t-shirt with a pineapple on it sitting on a stool. I just do not get the OTT praise for this kid. Maybe Archie's dad has threatened them all :

Well Archie has already had vocal cord issues.

I will be cool with DC coming in second. I already have myself prepared for that. I am still going to vote my fingers to the bone to get him the win because he says he wants it and right now I am his slave, but as long as he gets to make a CD for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I will be happy! But he just has to make Top 2! God I hope it is Syesha's turn to be "off" next week Twisted Evil

In the same order I watched them:

I thought Syesha was amazing on A Change is Gonna Come! I only saw the song, not the chatter or her crying. I would actually, yep, buy it (and just might, if the recorded version is as good.)

Jason....I liked the idea of him doing both of those songs. I can imagine him doing both of them brilliantly some other time, later.

He just seems done with the show. I don't blame him.

David Cook: Duran song didn't do much for him, but wow, yet again, he soared witht he Baba O'Reilly song!

David Archuleta...didn't watch it, but I am going to go make myself do it now.

*******

OK, watched him. Stand By Me was the best I have ever seen him. A really great Disnland performance. Yes, still Disneyland, but I would have stopped and listened and watched if i was at Disneland and hear that.

Love me Tender was cringinly horrible.
