| I was actually trying to distinguish between superstars and stars.
Rolling Stones are superstars.
Dave Matthews (same basic category as Eli) is merely a star! WHich is mighty fine in my book.

| I have the show on in the background. They played about 5 seconds of Eli and my whole body plunged its attention to the sound.
I find him so compelling.

| I'm very excited Eli made Top 20! He performs tonight and we have to vote to make him top 10! He is made of awesome!
Honestly, if he doesn't make Top 20 - for me - there really isn't anyone to root for because nobody else really does much for me. I'll watch for fun, but won't really care who wins. Neal and Queen have amazing voices, but I wouldn't buy anything from them or make it a point to see them, so it just doesn't matter. Maybe root for Donald because of his back story, but again - wouldn't buy any music from him.
SO GO ELI!!! | |

| I agree completely.
Eli is the only one I want to see or hear from this batch.
I do enjoy the good variety and novelty acts the first time around, but after that..nope.
Terry Fator is going to perform tonight, so that should be fun...but ELI! ELI! Can't wait to see him!

| I'm not all that thrilled by Queen Emily either; however, I've been more impressed by Neal the more I see him. It sounds like he has a good voice for adult contemporary music too.
ITA that Eli should do really really well in the competition. But really, Terry Fator is Exhibit A that at this point you really don't know what's going to happen.

| I'm looking forward to tonights show to hear Eli again too. Neal and Donald both have great voices, but no, I wouldn't go see them or buy anything of theirs. I'd like to hear Neal do some more opera songs like Nesun Dorma. Yes, Donald's back story makes me want him to go far, but Eli is the one to beat. I've seen enough dance groups and Queen whoever, I don't like at all. | |

| When I have no other reason to be engaged in something or somebody on TV I just have it on in the background while I am doing other, more organically engaging things, like scouring the web for some sort of HOPE about this upcoming election and the next four years of our lives (haven;'t found it...you can be sure there will be a link if I do)......... I judge my own interest by whether when i am not paying attention something grabs me.
I don't dislike any of the people I have paid attention to on this show, but I have to admit I have not even looked up when most of them are on.
5 seconds of Eli really does it, and not even because I know I like him, it is "the feeling of the sound." My response is absolutely visceral. The feeling of the sound is mroe than just a nice voice...the feeling of the sound makes me FEEL just from the sound!
That may be completely incomprehensible, but 'tis true.
Pavarotti doing about three notes of Nessun Dorma tends to do it (as does about 3 notes of Tom Waits). Go figure.

| The sound is way off tonight from this show. The singers are so muted that even when I tried turning the TV to max volumn, they were muted. Then Springer spoke and woke up the whole neighborhood, so it is not the broadcast itself. Weird.
I am still waiting for Eli.
The bit they showed of Terry Fator kinda sucked, alas.
***
Now the sound on the whole show is muffled.
My TV is usually at level 21..it is now up to 63, except during commercials.
I looked around online to see where to point that out at NBC...did not find anything.
ANybody else find that? Maybe...it is just the broadcast in L.A>?

| No problem with the sound here in Illinois. Eli was awesome - of course! He sure can tickle the ivories! Loved the song choice. I never would have expected him to do Alicia Keys. I am so anxious to see if he makes Top 10. I did my best for him. I agree with Piers, of all the singers (and several of them have very good voices) his is the CD I would buy. Loved that Piers said that! I actually enjoyed the show more tonight than I thought I would. I really liked "Nuttin But Stringz". The Baton guy is very good at what he does. Donald would kill in Phantom. The Elvis guy is very pretty. The little girl is adorable. I can't believe anybody actually picked "Bleeding Love" to sing What was Sarah thinking? Terry was OK. Maybe if they gave him time to do a few more characters it would have come off better. But all in all a fun show tonight! Now I get to sit on pins and needles until tomorrow night to see if our guy makes it! It's like AI all over again! | |

| Hi FC! Delighted to hear that Eli was great. I just saw him and was happy to see him. The sound was so muffled I really couldn't hear it. I will find something online after I VOTE FOR HIM!!!!! | |

| G'night, FC! I am sure it will be available tomorrow. I did my votes. Except for Eli I don't think I have done much, if any, voting for anybody on any show since Constantine.
LOL! Believe me, this set of votes is coming from a completely different place in my being.

OMG..........this song will get me everytime, everytime!!! Eli has that 'something'! His voice, his feeling, his talent........he's going to be huge I think. I want him to win, but if he doesn't, he'll still make it. Yes, I would buy something from Eli........... The little girl is adorable, but I really am getting tired of her.

| Fraz...........did you ever see the movie, "Yes, Giorgio" with Pavarotti? I love that movie.........not rated well.....but I love Pavarotti, so I loved the movie. I thought it was hilarious and sad. This is where my love for "Nessun Dorma" comes from. | |

| I did see it. I was already in love with his voice before that but I remember enjoying it, though whoever I went with didn't.
I even have auditioned (along with a zillion other actresses) for the leading lady role.

| The fantastic, amazing, moving, beautiful, freaking awesome, ELI from last night!

In an on-line poll of who should make the Top 10 ELI got the most votes! Followed by Nuttin But Stringz, Neil, Queen Emily and Donald. I honestly think that would be a fair and decent Top 5.

| - Spoiler:
Congrats ELi! Top 10!
Oh Sky, I could live without her too, but she does have a strong voice and I figure she deserves Top 10 based on that even though I wouldn't care to buy her CD or go see her. She just ain't my thang - but neither is the Frank Sinatra guy. He's a sweet man though.

| I actually hope Stringz wins.
I hope Eli comes in wherever is best for him. Somehow headlining in Vegas is just too bizarre for me to comprehend at this point. But I bet if he does win he will find a way to do it uniquely!
I think that would be a fine top 5. Emily is not my cuppa, so far, either, but I do think she is good.
Aside from Strings there were no non-singing acts that held up this year, which I think is too bad.
*******
Ahhhh. Just listened to the video (and a few more of the same thing on youtube. He is truly lovely. Thanks for the link!

| I would have put the baton guy in instead of the Elvis impersonator who was not very good. Considering how topheavy they already were with singers, you'd think they'd have wanted to add some variety to the mix. | |
