| You're right, it wouldn't be a good choice for Jason, that's why I was worried and I really don't like the version he is doing. I'm sure he'll be amazing though.
I cannot believe you heard of Sam Harris! I love him and yes a little over the top for some. I have many of his recordings, I just wish I had them on CD's. I priced them once for CD versions........$$$$$$! We just don't have the equipment for recording the LPs and cassettes to CD's.

| Sky, I do remember Sam Harris singing OTR and if you asked my mom, she'd probably get a far-away look in her eyes. He is OTT with some of the singing, but you love him, so you forgive him.
Did you guys ever see him on that short-lived show? I think it was called "Reunion" or something? It was about a bunch of kids who went to school together and now they're all grown up and their lives intertwined. It even had Jason Ritter in it.
Anyway, one of the women married a gay man and was in total denial about it. Guess who her husband was?

- Yeah. Where you don't feel like a total perv for thinking he's sexy.
So color me a perv - Constantine is still the hottest guy ever on this show. For me, Jason was the best tonight. His unique sound is coming through. He did a great job tonight - and he looked gorgeous, too. Not the best night overall on this show tonight. MJ was shakey - he looked good especially since that color combo and outfit reminded me of someone I saw recently on tour! David C - very average - I think the song was too much for the 1.5 minutes. Brooke - boring - glad it was over. David A. - boring in spots too. Carley - looked and sounded scary at times. Syesha - pretty good. Kristy - average sounding - nothing more. I think the show is starting to fold up early this year.

| Sky - here is one on ebay that is not too very expensive
Sam Harris CD on ebay
The show was The Class. I mentioned it in my earlier post. He was a riot and I loved the show!
You are right Lau about David C.'s song. I watched the video by Praise and cutting the song that short just takes away from it. I understand why David C. wanted to do it, it just wasn't a great choice for a little over a minute. I bet the recording with be much better.
Looks like he could be bottom 3 if DI is right. I still say Archie has this thing in the bag. Signed, sealed and delivered. He has always been number one on DI except for the week David C. did Billie Jean. I don't think he can be beat at this point. This is how it was with Taylor. Always number one on DI.
Sam played the gay hubby. I didn't know Sam was gay until he did that show and I saw him interviewed. I could have sworn he was married during SS.

| I remember Sam Harris. I didn't see him on Star Search but I saw many of the shows he sang on after that. He was signed to Motown for a while, but I think he concentrates on theatre now.
FWIW, the elimination show is Thursday night, not tomorrow.

After Star Search his personal life went downhill for a while. I think part of that was from being Gay and not wanting it out in the public eye. I heard drugs were involved. But he got through it and has done well. He has a video blog, that I just got lost in! Did you know he was on the Rosie Cruise with Danny and Ross? Thank you!!! No, that isn't a bad price, if my hubby would just get the equipment we need, we both have a lot of LPs we could put onto CDs. Have to go, time for me to watch Idol!!!!

| Sky, sorry, I thought I made myself clear when I asked the question. Like it was rhetorical. Sometimes I'm too obscure for my own good. The Class! YES! I LOVED that show! I was so pissed off when it was cancelled. There was never a shred of a shadow of a sliver of a doubt in my mind the man was gay. He might have tried to deny it for a bit, like Elton John did, but...yeah - Quote :
- So color me a perv - Constantine is still the hottest guy ever on this show.
What I meant by "perv" was there are so many VERY young boys on the show, like Jason, where you think he's cute and then feel bad about thinking he's cute. GfreakinB was a man (he was almost 30) and therefore was fine to perv over at the time. Not to drag GB into the AI thread, but I came to realize he was pretending to be sexy and was not, in real fact, sexy. (Always MY OPINION of course). Even when I liked him, I commented on something after I saw him on "Ellen" which was that I actually watched him slip into character right when he was about to sing.

| Yeah, a theater dork who wants to be sexy He has had some moments. Black Weds. He really did look beautiful that night I think. I knew what you meant GE. Like when I read posts on boards that call Archie HAWT!!! He's just a baby!! Ick! David C. is 26 so I think it is OK to crush on him At least from the safe distance I am from him I cannot believe that my boy may be bottom 3 on Thursday! And that Christy appears to be top 3 Who would have thunk it From what I can see about AI this year, from keeping my eye on DI, is that Archie appears to be the only one with a really large and devoted fanbase. Everyone else it seems to go by that night's performance. Archie - just always number 1. Sky, I simply do not seem to have very good gaydar I didn't know he was on the cruise with Ross and Danny! How fun. The Class was a great show with an awesome cast!! I really miss it and them. It so should have come back It sure the heck beats some of the other dumb sitcoms that are still on. | |

| Well, Firecracker, I imagine you did not feel safe enough to help me vote for Jason tonight, and I don't blame you. I am beginning to find David Cook very frustrating. Sometimes he's breathtakingly brilliant, and sometimes... uh. Here's my take on the evening. I will spoiler what I say about Cookie so Firecracker doesn't have to read it if it would hurt her feelings. Evaluation of each, in order of my preference. Jason - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! Yay, yay, yay, yay! Hee hee. He found a way to showcase his voice, he was charming and heartfelt as hell, he stood out from the crowd, and he figured out how to keep the band from drowning him out! And I'll tell you, I'm so tired of hearing oversung, overwrought versions of that song. This was really refreshing. LOOVED it! Kristy - Yep, she really is this high. I think she brought her frustration about being rejected and used in a way that was very poignant. Technically one of the better singers tonight. Yes, I do appear to be talking about Kristy. Lee. Cook. Yeah, her. Syesha - Well, she was technically just fine, and I actually do think she has an emotional connection to the song. It was a'right. Now, I understand that she probably shot herself in the foot by copying Fantasia, and I think she's going home tomorrow, but I thought it was kinda nice. But then... I HATE Fantasia's singing. Brooke - Ground floor, women's clothing. You just call out my name... 2nd floor, menswear. And you know, wherever I am... 3rd floor, home furnishings... I'll come running, to see you again... 4th floor, fine china. Thank you for shopping at American Idol, and don't forget to vote for your elevator music singer. Archie - let's see, shall I focus on him being off-key in places or shall I just go to sleep because he's so damned dull? Carly - OK, honey, get your vocals under control and stop shouting at me. I did NOT sleep with your husband, or whatever it is you were so pissed off about. The thing is - I like Carly. I think she may have the best female voice in the history of the show, but this was almost unpleasant. Michael - Lots of vocal strain tonight. I think he had a very poor song choice. Cookie - - Spoiler:
Look, I'm sorry folks, I really am, but I thought that was an ugly, unlistenable mess. Disconnected, out of tune in places, the dynamics were out of control and disorderly. Just awful. If this was the first time I heard these kids, and somebody told me one Cook was a front-runner and one Cook was the whipping boy/girl, I'd have guessed wrong.
I think Syesha will go home tomorrow for the grave sin of singing Whitney and Fantasia in consecutive weeks. The bad thing is... I'm not sure who ought to go instead. I'd hate to junk Carly, Michael or Cookie for one bad week.

| My take on the evening...for what it is worth. Just the noteworthy stuff. Micheal: Sucked! He sounded terrible! And what a horrendous song choice. I was so shocked that Simon and the gang did'nt rip him a new one. They must REALLY want him to stay in the competition. Carly: Terrible song choice. Just not a great song. I love Queen, but not that song. Brooke: Boring and voice did not sound good. Syesha: I hate that song no matter who sings it. Nuff said Kristy: I can't believe I am saying this but....I thought she really brought it...She sang and looked like a star just like what the judges said. Maybe not as good a voice as Carrie, but way more presence. Jason: Charming performance. Did not wow me, but I liked it. David C: (I like "The Cookster" ) I really liked the beginning of the song-there was some cool stuff going on, but his voice got lost at the chorus. Bad arrangement because they drowned him out with the band and back-up singers. David A: Agree it was a good song choice, and I thought he sounded great. Even his weird mouth stuff was toned down. If he continues like this, I agree he probably will win. Who I think will go: Carly or Brooke Who should go based on their performances: Michael or Brooke | |

| A rather disappointing show tonight. The only one, I think, that 'brought it' was Jason. Okay, I hate to say it, but Kristy too. I don't think she has a large fan base though. David C., what happened? Bad song choice, bad, bad choice. Michael...get back to the bluesy rock songs like last week. The others.........they can all go home. David A may have a great voice, he's just not ready, he has no WOW factor and is boring. | |

| Based only on the audio posted at rickey.org , sparing myself the visuals, the judges, the back stories, the interviews...
Here is the order in which I'd be willing to listen to the songs from tonight:
1. Brooke..sometimes I like soothing (aka elevator) music. I reall liked listening to her on this song. She really did it perfectly, if not newly.
2, Jason..loved it. Off on the falsetto though, so I would prefer a corrected version. I'd be happy to hear again, especially if the falsetto was gone.
3. Syesha... she really has a fabulous voice. I would listen again, once, anyway.
4 David Cook..I really like his voice. Song sucked, delivery kinda sucked, but I like the sound. But truth is, I won't listen again.
5. Carly Smithson - I still love the tone of her voice, but I found myself turning her off before I even listened all the way though. She could do Grace Slick songs. Her voice is that interesting. Her voice does not match her taste, maybe.
6. Michael Johns -- just not it. He is even going down on my list for people to hire for generic movie sound track covers.
7. David Archuleta..what can I say except that he gives me the creeps, his voice gives me the creeps,. I made myself listen to the whole thing, just because I feel a little bad about him giving m e such creeps, but, alas, all he does is give me the creeps. Won't listen again.
8. Kristy lee Cook..I actually hate her voice. Got three notes in and shut it off.

| First off about David C. Simon was wrong! The white jacket was hott!! David looked smokin in my book!
I think if he could have done the full song it would have gone over quite well. If any of you watched the video I linked of Praise doing it you would get the meaning and the impact of the song. No way that meaning came across in that 90 secs. or so they get. So yes, it was a poor song choice in that regard. Also, something seemed off about David C. and not just his performance. Afterwards he was just not himself. I wonder if things with his big bro are worse than we know. I hope that is not the case, but you never know. That song does talk about having cancer. Still, for me David is by far the most "whole package" like Paula said and professional and relevant. No one else comes close to all of that.
Yes, Jason had a nice performance last night, but almost every other week I couldn't really have cared less. I still, even after last night, see a small club singer/performer. That is fine though and he may be really happy with that. He is a lovely and charming young man, but I just do not see a superstar there at all.
Carly comes close, great a powerful voice, but she really has not engaged people. At lot of sites they are predicting she will go tomorrow night. Leaving at number 8 will be tough. I feel for her. She has the voice and she wants it bad, but something is lacking.
Brooke, I love her to bits but I am not sure if her style will bring her a lot of success. Last night was a snooze for pretty much everyone everywhere I read. I don't think she will hang on much longer either.
David A. has the tweens and teens in his back pocket, but any site I go to that is not full of tweens/teens call him BORING over and over. If he just has the tweenies/teens he will win, but how long can he stay hot? The youngsters move on to new people every year. Remember how hot the Duffster was a few years back? Now it is all about Miley!! He is a cute, sweet kid with a very nice voice, but there are a lot of those in the world. I am not sure I see a super star in the making. Maybe I am way off though and he will really be something. So I won't be upset if he does win, I just won't be jumping up and down. But then I jumped up and down for Taylor and we all know how that worked out.

I get ya. I was just in a very crazy mood after that show last night, so that's why I posted what I did. Admiring young good looking men isn't a crime in my book. Uh, did that come out okay? Besides, its all done in fun what we say here. I think what was getting to me last night is that this season, despite all the hype, is turning out to be just like every one previously. There will be no one from this group that is going to be the second coming for the music industry IMO. I think Cookie has a lot of people hoping that will happen. But if he continues sounding like he has the last 2 weeks, then I doubt it.

| It came out fine Lau! I still love looking! I sort of disagree with you Lau. I do find this one of the better seasons. I really have liked a lot of this top 24. Even though I would love to see my David C. win, I would be almost as happy with Brooke, Carly, David A. or even Micheal winning. They all are talented and likable. Will they all be successful? Probably not, but I do not dislike anybody in the group. Christy and Syesha are my least faves, but I will admit that they both can sing. They may not be super likable, but they don't really bother me either. Unlike other seasons where they were contestants I just couldn't understand why they were even there. Though I guess I now know why Sanjaya was there. As far as David C. goes I really do think he can make it. I like him WAY more than Daughtry and Daughtry made it. I do agree it is important that he picks the right songs from now on out so that when he does leave (if before the finale) he leaves with a great impression on people in the biz. Wow, tonight's show is on here from 6:30 - 9:00 I'll have it on so I don't miss anything too exciting (I have not read or watched any spoilers) but I will have to be doing other things at the same time. That is one long ass show! | |

Yeah. I know. I still sometimes squick myself out when I realize they haven't even reached voting age yet, but it's healthier just to think like you do and move on. Like Frazz, I just listened to them. Here's my take: 1. Brooke..Pretty voice. My mind wandered while listening to her. 2, Jason..loved it. I listened for the falsetto and it sounded good. I totally and completely feel that he nailed this sucker. FINALLY! 3. Syesha... I feel about her the way Abrahammy was describing Brook. "make my voice do this here". Insert "mmmm" here. Bring it up here, 1,2, sound earnest here, 3,4. 4 David Cook..I thought he got it in like the last 30 seconds. Before that it was all over the place. 5. Carly Smithson - I was really expecting extreme levels of horribleness, so I guess it's a plus to expect the worst, right? She was trying to nail it and her voice totally gave out. I had to go back and check to see what she sang, so I'm pretty sure this left no impression on me. 6. Michael Johns -- Wow. He tried to do what Steven Tyler does. No amateur singer should try to do what Steven Tyler does. I know what he was going for, but he failed. 7. David Archuleta..I like listening to him better than watching him. It helped. He did a good job, but not a memorable job. 8. Kristy lee Cook..I wanted to hate it, but I just couldn't. Unlike the other "country" singers, I think she is really a country singer. Maybe it's because she totally believes in the schmaltz she's singing about. ETA: Some stuff from Jacob, my BF at TwoP: Michael (including Randy - FC will love this!): And then the screaming. The fucking stupid-ass bad-sounding falsetto screeching. I had no idea Steven Tyler had a talent besides spawning beautiful creatures, but apparently there's a way to make those awful sounds that is better than other ways of making the horrible sounds. His face looks nice, but it's dressed up all in bullshit. Randy tells him that he sounded screechy and uncool, and that he needs to start singing the soul songs that he has never, ever sung that Randy always, always thinks he used to sing at some point in the imaginary past. And instead of just nodding and praying that nobody notices his goddamn stupid-ass cravat, Michael backtalks and says that, I'm only barely paraphrasing, Randy is wrong, because America is wonderful. Yeah, that's what he said. but then Randy gets pissed and tells him this show is not about DREAMS, it is about SINGING, and then gets very fussy. Very fussy, like, somebody just fucked up Merv Griffin's egg-white omelet amounts of fussy. Randy cracked! Randy never cracked before! OMG he is pissed! This is beautiful! "It's not about dreams! We have discovered that this show is about singing, we have finally gotten to the bottom of it, and it's not dreams!" He's going from zero to Brittenum faster than anything I've ever seen before. Wow. Wow! Randy kind of sucks! And then Paula interrupts and tells him that the opposite is true, and it's not actually about SINGING but about DREAMS. Which, for her it is, I'm not popping that balloon. But like, five minutes and twenty-five seconds into the episode, everybody's nuts. And Michael didn't suck that bad, except for the end. Syesha:Ramiele was the only one that really "got" Syesha, she explains in her off-putting way. Which is annoying in that number one, if you are complaining that nobody "gets" you, the answer is that you suck. But more importantly, Ramiele doesn't "get" photosynthesis, or shapes, or long division, or gravity, so again: you suck. Syesha's performance of Fantasia's "I Believe" is, like always, quite the heady mixture of Ambien and Prozac. Since I've only heard this song once before, and I'm still not convinced it didn't give me a stroke at that time, it's disappointing. What I would not do to see Syesha get ugly. But alas, the only thing that's ugly about Syesha is her way. Simon's like, "Don't be an idiot: of course you're getting compared to Fantasia." Syesha's like, "I KNOW THAT." This is like the same exact thing as last week, right? Simon desperately tries to explain about reality -- how it was sung so beautifully but that doesn't matter -- but sadly, reality is something Syesha has rejected every week before now and will continue rejecting long after her ass is booted, so whatever. Even Ryan doesn't have much to say. Jason:It sounds exactly like Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version, which your parents probably have on the shelf next to Josh Groban so go ask them because I don't have the time to explain it right now. So the judges love it, whatever. Simon is not sure about all this, but has decided that he loves Jason's performance of this song. KristyThe Colonel. Ryan says she's determined not to hit the B3 this week, but he's not serious I don't think, because every week she talks about how she's got her bags packed. She will be singing -- are you sitting down? You should probably sit down -- she'll be singing a Martina McBride song. Will it have cheesy lyrics about believing in yourself and in your family members? Yes. Will it involve setting rapists on fire, like the good Martina ones do? Sadly, no. Does it contain the phrase "God is great?" Yes, it does. Luckily, her voice continues its steady improvement, and her arms-wide movements are hilarious, and her scary black eyes are always interesting. Also, even if God doesn't answer your prayers, that's okay, because you should love your children, and singing is fun, even if everybody hates you...Actually there's a whole theme in the song about how we can go fuck ourselves if we don't like her, because this is all KLC's show and we're just the extras in her movie. Which actually, I kind of respect. Allah akbar, KLC. David Cook:And after the break? David Cook AND Carly Smithson. Might as well get all that mess out of the way at once, like ripping off a Band-Aid. I wish I could show you a screencap of the moment right before the break, because it is a doozy. Carly is like, "You know how my face is kind of crunk-looking? Well, what if Kate Bush was a Cabbage Patch Doll, and that was my face?" And then David Cook wearing a Sergeant Pepper's-by-Way-of-Gerard jacket, cocking his fucking eyebrow with disgusting sparse country high school stubble on his face, his hair sticking up all short-bus like Captain Jack on one side, and the gall to pretend like he's any less of a freaking dork than she is. After the break, there's something disgusting on Simon's lap. The fuck is it? Is it Constantine? It's got frizzy yucky chin-length hair, a choker, a leather jacket, and a smarmy mouth. OMG what is it? Ryan points at it and says something, but it just looks like...Brian Epstein's coke dealer in a movie. It is called Mike Darnell. Simon says that Mike is the actual "Dark Lord" of this show, not him or Clive, so...I guess he's finally discovered the internet. (Which, let's note, is older than David Archuleta.) So I don't know if you know this band at all, but that voice that Cook is faking every week? Basically the lead singer of Our Lady Peace. He does a great impression, and I'd rather hear that voice than, say, a really good Rob Zombie (or heaven forbid Rob Thomas, Jason Castro). So even if you've never heard the original version, now you kind of...have. I won't speak for anybody else, but knowing the song, my issues with this performance are easy: he starts out way too low and sounds stupid, and then goes high but not high enough, so he sounds stupid, and then in the chorus he kicks it to the backup at first in that throaty froggy way of singing way too low, then he sings against them, then he changes keys again, and then wanders out into the audience once again to act like a goddamn wizard like he always does, and then in the last note he slowly...unfurls...his fucking...hand...on which somebody has markered, "GIVE BACK." And the Earth opens up, and swallows him. Carly:Oh, right: Carly Effing Smithson. Who is singing the Queen song "Siomusdewan," apparently, which is about getting "knocked in the road" and how you have to use your moments to make your moments count. I have no idea how much of it is her stupid accent and how much her stupid brain, but I admit that it could be mostly my inability to care what the girl has to say. She also lies that she watched Live Aid and knows who Freddie Mercury is. I sure hope she's wearing Traci Scoggins hooker makeup for this...and she is. Carly screams and blandly shouts and tosses her hair and makes it all sound like the fake-scary Disney attack of the Wooden Soldiers. Randy and Paula agree that Carly, herself, sucks, and that continues to be her problem. Not the singing, not the fucked-up looking tattoo of an ugly lady on her arm, just: her excruciating demeanor. Her concave charisma. Paula says her voice is "perfect," which is nearly true, but the problem for Paula is that Carly is awful and unsympathetic in many, many ways. Simon tells her she oversang and lost control of the song, and seemed schizophrenically and inappropriately angry. Which: Carly's entire problem is that she doesn't seem to get people things, or how people do things. She wouldn't be half as off-putting if her body language were anything like normal. So it makes sense that she would try for "strong" and end up at "homicidal." That makes total sense to me. So while he's telling her this very true information, somebody goes nuts out in the audience, distracting Simon and Paula. I hope it is a tattooed family member going nuts. I really do, that would be awesome. Then Carly tells the judges that she sucked because she saw Simon's face. Shut up, Carly. "I felt like the judges were judging me, so I decided to sing bad, and be fundamentally unlikable." Good plan. Archuleta: (I think Jacob is in sync with Frazz, so read at your own peril) Ryan and Archuleta talk about nothing of consequence, David A. talks through his nose for a while, and then in the video he's like, "It was way hard to figure out which inspirational song was the very gayest, but then I was like, 'Angels' -- a song I have performed hundreds of times -- is both inspirational enough for this show, and childish enough for my fake personality." Nothing about just stumbling upon it or anything like that: just saw it on the list, and picked it. He plays the piano, kind of, but you can't hear it anyway, and starts out way low, and generally is all over the place. Perhaps he's distracted by the piano, which again we cannot hear at all, but the whole thing is set so low for him that it's just about boring. Also, his father looks like a Village Person this week. Randy loved it, because it's an "amazing" song, and loved the runs that he did at the end, and Randy lies his ass off that this was his hottest moment all season. Paula says it was fantastic. You guys, it wasn't. I'm not being mean or anything when I say that. It was crappy. Simon loves the song choice (yes) because he's actually heard the song (did you know Robbie Williams is like totally OCD crazy and won't leave his house and makes you play Scrabble with him all day?) but notes that it wasn't actually his best vocal. Words cannot describe the amount of nothing I feel toward David Archuleta. It's like he is sucking the feelings out of the room. He's like ... little dogs. I get that it's cute, I just don't understand what the hell you expect me to do with it. Brooke (Jacob loves Brooke) Ryan introduces Brooke White and then makes a security lady cry by trying to make her talk on camera. Then he feels terrible about that, and kicks it to the package. Brooke babbles about "You've Got A Friend," and how it was written by Carole King, which even I knew, and then she's singing at the mic while a guy plays piano. There are also some awesome violins that make it actually very lovely. She is a little shaky and vibratey, and the backup singers are a little ambient/creepy, but you understand what they're going for, and more importantly, it is her best performance in a very, very, very long time. Which is a better way for this episode to end than it might have, considering the last weeks -- including tonight -- have been some of the worst in the show's history. Which bites, because the level of talent actually is so high, and it's distressing and gross to see them flop like this, all at once. So thanks, Brooke. Randy says it was just okay, but he's not mad at her. Paula has a sister, or thinks she has a sister, or something. She says it was a great way to end things, and tells Brooke she loves her. Brooke automatically responds, "I love y...thanks." (Which, how many times have you done that? And felt like a primo douche every time? So awesome.) Simon says it was a pleasant walk in the park, nice, not necessarily original but pleasant, and he thanks her. When Brooke is sad it makes me want to hit something. She babbles at Ryan a little bit, and then shakes noticeably in his arms. It really was one of her best in a long while, you guys. I'm kind of worried.

So I assume Jacob is so fucking great that he can rip apart everybody else who actually is trying to do what they dream of doing. What the fuck ever. I do not like your friend Jacob. In fact he makes me want to vomit. But then I am sure he would like that. Yes, I know it is "snark" but it is ugly snark to me. These kids work their butts off and try their best. I pray they never read this crap. I pray even harder their mothers don't read this crap. I read at Rawkhands that several people left TWOP. Good for them. BTW, I am not annoyed at all that you brought that here. I realize you actually like it and this man. I am just stating what I think and why I personally never go to that board. So very much not my thing. I realize the man has a creative way with words (and as a writer I am sure you admire that greatly - though I think you are a better writer) I just wish he would put his creativity to a better use. Perhaps he does somewhere else. See the thing is, I like these kids. I just wish them all the best. (For a moment I thought that guy was Con too )

- I think what was getting to me last night is that this season, despite all the hype, is turning out to be just like every one previously.
and that is exactly why I am not watching. It is the same every year. And I fear this the winner will be no better off than the previous 2 seasons winners. even though by listening I do think David C. , Jason and Brook are talented. I actually gave up this show because it is such a big time sucker. I can go and listen on rickey in short order. FWIW I think the recap is funny. I actually think the show AI has a cruel streak. Yes I know some of these kids would not have a chance otherwise. But think about it a lot of them are thrust into the spotlight and when they are gone that's it. I've always thought it was mean and stupid to make them sing out.

Actually, it wasn't. He went off on Randy and I know you don't like Randy. Look, as far as I'm concerned, if you're in the public eye and ESPECIALLY if you're on freakin' AMERICAN IDOL, you have to expect that all that is written about you is not going to be lollipops and rainbows. The poor recappers have to watch this stuff over and over. I'm sure the mannerisms get more and more annoying to them all the time. That he makes fun in a snarky funny manner is...to me...hysterical. Jacob has had to endure all the seasons of AI from start to finish. He used to do all the recaps, but has now split the performance/results with another recapper. He does apologize for being in a bad mood and says he wants to sit down and enjoy it, but then they annoy the crap out of him. I guess I am for honesty and not just saying nice things because it's nice. I think when someone like me or Jacob (or, say, Simon) pays a compliment, it means more because we're not always with the compliments just to be nice. If you don't believe me, every single contestant has said that Simon's critique is the most important because he tells it like it is. Everyone relies very little on Paula's critiques. She's only on there because she's entertaining as bloody hell. - Quote :

I know I say this alot, but...yeah, what aerwin said too. - Quote :

Also that. Luca! That is a fucking RIOT! I did not see the show, but it does sound like him. AWESOME! Some people are TwoP people and some aren't. I'm a snarky bitch, and so many times they say in a public forum what I can't, and it can be cathartic in a way.

| Interrupting the AI recapping to bring some Bo news:
Bo and Caroline are expecting their second baby boy in August. We knew about the pregnancy, but Bo announced the news about the baby's gender on his fanclub blog a couple days ago.
And more good news for Bo. Following his appearance on AI, he sold 2,900 copies of his CD "See The Light". That was up from 400 the previous week. Go Bo!
Getting back to AI, I think where Jason shines is doing "happy songs" where life is good, the girl you love loves you back, etc. If he was back in the '60's, he'd be the peaceful hippy with the love beads and the Donovan records not the angry hippy blowing up laboratories, etc.

| The recappers don't "have" to endure anything. I assume they choose to do this? Or am I wrong and this is a paying job for them? I'm serious. I do not know. Why would they "endure" this if it was not what they wanted to do? I understand that Simon gives some brutal comments, but it is nothing compared to that stuff. I have a sense of humor. Quite a good one as in RL I have people laughing all the time. This just seems like the too cool for school bullying. I didn't think when the boys at school made up songs about me "the jolly green giant, tinsel teeth, 4 eyed glow worm (has to do with my maiden name) was funny either. Though I am sure they thought they were very creative Like I said, making fun of people has just never been my thing. I didn't know you meant the Randy comment. I thought you were just being "snarky" as in you know I don't like Jacob so you were saying "FC will love this". So hard to know the way something is said when it is in writing. I do think they whole thing with Randy and Micheal was awkward though. But at least Randy is saying more this season then "Dawg" and "keeping it real". So I guess that is something. | |

This is a very accurate description. FC, I believe it is a job for them that they're paid for. I think they still have day jobs too. Some of the recappers don't like the show they recap. I do not think this is the case with Jacob. I have many friends and they have to know that to love me is to accept my extremely snarky sense of humor. I think, though, that the site is called "Television WITHOUT PITY" and the snark is part of the entertainment. I think when you critique cheesy television shows, you're gonna be extra snarky. This happens to be a reality show, but I don't feel they should be any less snarky because they maybe possibly might hurt someone's feelings. That would be pandering (to!me!) As for getting teased in school, honey, I get the gold medal. Nobody went through as much torture as I did. Some of the most horrible moments of my life took place in school.
