| Badger, I agree that guys probably favor David C. I'll bet he has some of the same fans who also like Chris Daughtry, but didn't vote while Chris was on AI. Chris D. has a fanbase that includes a LOT of under 40 males as well as PYTs and I think guys and PYTs will definitely be a big part of David C's audience as well. If so, he should be just as successful!
David, David, Jason and Carly.....I think that would be a great top 4!

| So do I! I will miss my sweet Brooke though. Frazz, there are two copies of Brooke's CD on Amazon. Only $75. Do you like her that much? http://www.amazon.com/Songs-Attic-Brooke-White/dp/B000KF0X0W/ | |

| Sure... 75 bucks, or the other one at $1000!!!
No, but I would go see her at McCabes (small folkie venue in L.A.) and pay $30.

About Kristy Lee Cook finally being gone.
I really did not like her voice or her performances, so I am glad she went before all the remaining others.

| Forgot to tell you guys Michael was on Good Day L.A. this morning looking adorable! He had on a knit cap and looked like he's been going without sleep for quite some time.
They showed an earlier recording where one of the hosts asked who he was dating and he held up his hand with the wedding ring and said "my wife". Too cute.
I am totally shocked Kristy is gone. I really thought she'd be the hated contestant who keeps staying on. Syesha will go next.
I will be SHOCKED if it's not boy/girl. Really. If I predict right now that most likely Carly or Brooke will hold on till the end, being f-2 with David C., I so get the "psychic of the year" award.

GE, I would love for you to be right! David C and Brooke or Carly would be great! But, I do not see how it is possible Archie won't make top 2. I just think the tweenies/grannies will vote the fingers to the bone for him.

| EEEEK!! DC's song is amazing! His singing that whole last minute is so fantastic! His highs at the end - just beautiful!
I am downloading all but Syesha's (don't like that OTT Diva thing she does) just to see how they all sound on their recordings. Off to listen to Jason!

| I thought Elliot was only okay last night. Mariah was really good though. I also liked her as a mentor.
I'm sick of Idol right now. I watched more of it this year than I have for several years, and its too much. I usually miss a few shows during the 8 - 6 sing off weeks, this year I didn't and its too much. I bet there are others like me - that could account for the rating drops.

| Well, Jason's song was pretty. His voice really is not special at all (sorry) I think he is a performer you need to watch to really get the nice effect. I listened to Archie's - what a boring song! But by the end when he kicks it up a notch there is no denying the boy has a very pretty voice. He really does have that "AI VOICE". He will shine big time on whatever the coronation song turns out to be. I wish it weren't true, but it just is. He has the voice for those types of sappy songs that always end up being the coronation song. I wonder if they will allow DC (if he makes final 2) to switch up the song - I mean since it is voted on by the public and "wins" for the songwriter. It might seem "not right" to change-up the song. I just don't know. It worries me | |

| The song Archie sang actually sounds better in the movie (it's sung by Michele Pfeiffer and Sally Dworky (she's dubbing for Sandra Bullock) than it does on the record. But then I find that to be true of many of the songs from animated movies that are redone by pop singers and become hits.
I don't know if it's going to happen or not, but I'd love to see an all-male top three this year. It's probably going to be the battle of the Davids in the finale, but I really want to see Jason in the top 3.

| I think that would be awesome Badger! Honestly, if I had a magic wand I would have a DC/Jason or DC/Brooke finale! I love Brooke - for lots of reasons, and I would still get my Rocker/kinda folksy singer. Archie is just so ding dang typical AI singer that I would soooo love to have a finale that is so different from what we are used to. What would be perfect is if they could sing THEIR OWN original songs. DC and Jason would be just a whole mess of pretty! ETA: Sky, do you have any idea where I can get HD downloads of the AI performances? I managed to get the most amazing video of DC's top 7 performance from the other night, but now I can find where I got it from and I would love to have some more HDs because DAMN he is hot in those HDs!! | |

- This was a night which will also forever live in infamy as the first and hopefully only time I'll be hypnotized into downloading an American Idol iTune. Damn you, David Cook, and your infernal talent. You're making me go all soft! Between your bizarrely appealing emo versions of cheesy songs I love and the persistent, itchy crush I've developed on Seacrest, I don't even know who I am anymore. What's next? I start watching Dancing with the Stars? I buy a Clay Aiken CD?

| Watch this video of Michael Johns with one of his previous bands the Film doing a song called "Coming Down". He has said that INXS was an influence, and with this song I think it shows.

Some here, but this site changes every week, I'm not sure how to get to the other weeks. http://itsnotthatserious.wordpress.com/
Hmmm............try the Idolforums maybe. That's where most of my links come from. Try the one from this morning that I posted, I haven't noticed whether they have the videos though.

| Thanks, but that Billie Jean at the link above was an MP4 and I only got audio. I really want a Dvix video of Billie Jean. ETA: Well, at least her night didn't totally suck! - Quote :
A day after her American Idol ousting, Kristy Lee Cook announced she is getting hitched.
Cook, 24, said her 25-year-old beau, Andrew Dobner, first popped the question on March 17.
They kept the news "on the down-low" because "I just wanted to be focused on Idol," the Oregon native told Usmagazine.com in a conference call Thursday.
He then proposed again last night on Idol.
"He actually got down on his knee this time," she said. "He owed it to me!"
Cook said they're planning to tie the knot "next June sometime."

Sony-BMG Reshuffles, Gives Clive Davis A Gentle Shove Peter Kafka | April 17, 2008 6:25 PM
What do you do when your industry is in a death spiral? Reshuffle your management ranks. EMI is in the midst of a headache-inducing org chart overhaul, and Sony-BMG just announced its own moves.
OUT: Charles Goldstuck, former President and COO of the BMG unit and a one-time rising star; Tim Bowen, Sony-BMG COO.
UP: Barry Weiss, former President and COO of Zomba Label Group (Britney, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys et al), is now Chairman and CEO of BMG.
PUSHED POLITELY ASIDE: Clive Davis, former BMG Chairman and CEO, is now "Chief Creative Officer", a title we don't believe existed before, and which we're interpreting as "honorific title because we don't want to or can't fire you".
Clive is a legendary figure in the business, and the kind of legendary figure who doesn't mind telling you that he's a legendary figure, so this move is important for that reason. But in the big picture, this is unlikely to matter much: The people who aren't buying CDs anymore have never heard of Clive Davis. Press release for music industry Kremlinologists follows.

| Sky, I have all the videos and mp3s of DC's. But, yesterday I found this HQ Dvix of his Always Be My Baby performance - all the way through the tears. It's like HDTV. I mean it is so clear it is like he is real! I would just love to find that kind of quality of some of the other performances. I'll keep looking. The files are huge though. I would just love to have that quality of Billie Jean. | |
