| Simon most definitely has an issue with women and weight. No doubt. He likes his women too skinny and very tiny. He admitted he "fancied" Paula when he first met her. So, when he tears into the women and leaves the men alone, it irritates me. BTW, FC, the TwoP recapper totally agreed with you re: the Carly clothes comment.
I watch all these shows where parents want to make their little kids stars, and it frightens the daylights out of me. The children eventually learn to parrot what the mom has been saying, but it's the parents' words coming out of the kids' mouth.
I do think that, yes, sometimes kids put all kinds of pressure on themselves to be perfect, but I think it stems from some serious emotional problems. when it starts causing them ulcers and they can't relax for a minute because unless they get straight A's and get into the best schools.
I guess I just think at 17-years-old, he should look like he's having "the time of his life". He doesn't look that way and I feel it through the TV. It's most definitely not the way I see it from Carly, who appears to be taking the judge's suggestions and trying to improve. She's had a semi-professional career and has seen the good and bad of it. I don't see the striving for acceptance any more than the others. She does have an air of professionalism when she performs.
I do agree about David C. The info was going to get out. Best it comes from the source than everyone all speculating.

| An exaggeration of the paparazzi huh...no surprizes there. I think David A. is going to be a very successful gospel/Christian music singer...that is what he was born to do and should do. I also do not like to watch him sing. He does weird mouth movements and facial expressions that are distracting. He may be able to learn to decrease it...but, I doubt it. It is like the contorted faces guitar players make...it is how they feel it. I think this will affect his acceptance and potential success as a mainstream artist. I don't think he will win. But, I do predict he will be in the top three, and he should be...he has a gift. I did'nt know Carly was expecting...that does make his comment even more crass and downright cruel. What a pig.

| I think Rami will leave. No Luca, Carly is NOT pregnant. People thought she WAS because of the way she looked and what she wore. THAT is why she addressed the issue last week. Letting people know she is NOT preggers and said she guessed she better wear things that make her look "thinner" since people thought she was pregnant. That had to hurt. So that is why I think Simon just added to how to how bad she must have felt already. Plus GE is right. He likes 'em skinny! He would not like me then FWIW, I really like Simon. I just think sometimes he goes too far and can be a bit cruel. I also think he is very funny and entertaining. I do not like his double standard though about the weight issue. | |

| Ramie should go...I am happy about it. Chikesie should have stayed in her place and she should have left when he did IMO. I don't watch the second shows...and I knew Dolly would sing so I knew I for sure did'nt want to watch tonight. | |

| I have a long time crush on Dolly for reasons even I do not understand. She is a terrible actor, her voice is just too squeaky and vibrato-y..and yet I love her. I am watching now just to see her soemtime in the next 20 mins.
WHy is Kristie Cook still there?.
ANNIE LENNOX IS GONN BE ON NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awwww. Rami got me teared up. I wish Kristie had gone first, though Rami hasn't been pulling it off in many weeks.
But what a cutie pie. (Of course I never noticed her, really except in the audition and tonight). Ahh the fickle audience.

I was so excited to see the Clark Bros and the bonus was seeing Bo!! OMG, his hair is beautiful and his son is the cutest!!! No, you aren't the only one, it was painful listening to Dolly sing. Wonder Bra is right, geesh! I'm not upset Ramielle went home. It was time. Syesha should be next or Kristy.

| None of these contestants make me cry as they leave. Rami is a big baby, she's been crying for weeks now. I'm glad she's gone.
Fraz, while I was watching Dolly last night, I had similar thoughts to what you posted. I think maybe she is just so warm and genuine, and she has such a unique style, that you can't help but like her.
I like these updates on how the former idols are doing. They have such a large stable of successful people now, they don't have to call on many outsiders to produce a good show. Last year was terrible with the mentors every week. I tune in to see American Idol people, not the mentors. I think the limited amount of mentors this year is a good move.
BTW - the Clark Brothers - only okay for me. I was a huge Sixwire fan on the band show last year.

Because she's proud to be an American. And because she cracks jokes on the seal instead of weeping. And next week she'll sing Amazing Grace - again - and we can't vote her off when she's singing to Jesus, can we, so she'll stay and somebody else will go, and I really hope it's Syesha and not Jason. Although I know Jason is doomed anyway, so maybe they ought to just tear him off right now for my sanity's sake so I won't be invested in a contestant anymore. Jason won't see the end of April. It's just a matter of time. But hey, he lives around here, so maybe we'll (the Metroplex) have a big party for him. Final eight of AI, ya'll! (But we also produced the first winner. Is he going to live up to that?)

| Well, VFTW is voting for Christy - if that makes a difference. Also, poor Rami just has not had interesting or good performances at all and Christy really did have the better last two weeks. Maybe a lot of guys are voting for her. I know of one poster at the CH who said her husband loves her because she is like a RL Barbie My guess is she will go in two weeks. Nobody leaves next week due to it being "Idol Gives Back" week. Like last year, they will combine two weeks of voting to see who goes. I also read that it looks like they are not going to do the Wild Card thing. Too bad for Danny. I was hoping that would work out | |

I agree with Frazz and Lau. In a business where everyone seems so fake and phony, I think Dolly really is that nice and sweet. She's also a survivor. - Quote :

OMG are we ever on the same page! That girl knows how to pander to the AI audience like nobody's business. The contestants forget that the whole country votes, not just L.A. but Kristy sings just for them and has that middle-America vote locked up tight.

Oh, too late for me, I'm already invested in Jason. I just listened to his studio recording of 'Travelin'. I want more from him so I'm hoping Kristy and Syesha go before he does. I'm also 'WOW' over David Cook and Michael (not as much). So what's the theme next week, anyone know?

| Well, I had no luck. On the "Not Serious" site it says "Little Sparrow" but the download is actually Billie Jean. I couldn't figure out the others. One just wouldn't connect and the other just went in circles. Oh well. Sorry, but Jason does nothing for me I'll give Michaels a try I guess, but I was not thrilled with it the other night. ETA: Yeah, I finally got it to connect! Got it! I think I will go for Brooke's too! Brooke's is great! David A.'s is simply gorgeous! What a fantastic recording voice that kid has! | |

| It is like AI but with the children of rock stars/singers. I think it will be cool to see how talented their kids are. I am looking forward to hearing Olivia Newton John's daughter. She is a beautiful girl and I always loved Olivia.
It starts tonight at 9:00 Central.

| I watched some of that "Cattle Drive" show they had one time with the kids of stars, and MAN, those were some SPOILED BRATS! Also, and I hate to say this, but Pat Benatar, someone I have always loved and adored and continue to think she is one of the top 5 voices in rock, has a daughter who is dumb as a box of rocks. She is a stunner, just like her mama, but when she said that one of the cowboys making fun of a girl wearing designer shit to go cattle driving was "racist" I lost all respect. I hope this new show will be better, since they're just singing. We'll see. Also, OK, I have always loved "Jacob" the guy who does the recaps of AI on TwoP. He hated GB and slammed him in the recaps when I totally ADORED GB, and yet I couldn't help but love him so much. I used to read the recaps to my mom every week. So, I could tell he was in a real bitchy mood this week, and sometimes he goes into rants that are George Carlin-ish, but I had to bring some of the stuff over: - Quote :
- Michael and Cook will not quit with the faces and they're heading toward Constantine levels of grossness.
- Quote :
- You know who can, though, is somebody named Robert, who asks Cook what other talent he would like to have, besides singing like Candlebox I guess. He can't think of any, so he says the talent of being organized, because that's how fucking awesome he is. Fly a jet plane? Got that on lockdown. Delicious French cooking? Only while I'm doing crosswords in pen.
- Quote :
- There's much talk of Brooke's violinist, and she's awkward as usual, and then Jason is safe, but Brooke still wanders around the stage because she's out of it. This makes Ryan Seacrest super nervous but not as nervous as Dolly is going to make him in a second.
- Quote :
- KLC explains that they are roommates twelve times in a row even though nobody asked, Ramiele makes idiotic faces, and Brooke looks like she's been punched. So yeah, everybody's in character.
- Quote :
- Then Dolly Parton sings a song called "Jesus & Gravity." Which might be awesome, I have no idea. She's wearing like white satin bike shorts. Bedazzled. With a footman's coat, if footmen wore lingerie. Needless to say she looks fabulous and totally crazy. One day in our future Dolly Parton and Carol Channing intersect. I hope I'm there on that day. Until then, this song will do. Because this song is awesome, it literally makes no sense whatsoever, it's just like namedropping these things without connecting the dots for you at all. "I got Jesus, I got gravity, I got the weak and strong gravitational forces and Jesus, I got BOGO at Payless, I got a canker sore, I got a DVD of Grey's Anatomy Season Two and a sandwich. A tomato saaaaaaaaaaandwich!" Jordin and Holly Robinson Peete are like, "I know, right?" Then Dolly and Ryan go completely nuts and babble at each other for a long, long, long time. Ryan has no idea what to do with her, at all, which is great. He just stares and feels strange while she acts crazy and awesome, and the whole time it's like his fingers are curling into tiny little fists of freakout because he has no control over Dolly because she's a legend, but also on the list of people with no control over Dolly right now is Dolly.
- Quote :
- Simon says it's not Brooke for sure. I also agree with that. Ryan's like, "It sucks that Brooke's in the bottom three," and Brooke is all awkward about her variety of reasons, including Addis Ababa, and Dolly and Jesus, and realizes that once again she is making no sense. Ryan's like, "You are absolutely right about...that." So he sends Brooke back, because the girl is like this close to losing her shit entirely. Brooke needs a nap so bad, you guys. Then the Colonel is fuckin' safe again, and little Ramiele is going home. KLC attempts to eat the smaller girl, starting with her head, while Ryan yaks at length.
- Quote :
- Ramiele's journey is one of water circling the drain and eventually being crunched up by a garbage disposal, with Ruben singing a crappy song. Ryan tells her how much we all love her, and he's so sweet because he says it in the present tense, but his magic words really help her pull it together. The power of Ryan. Then she really does pull it together and gives one her best performances. And didn't you know she would be one of those that rocked the singout? Good luck, Lullaby.
